D.Superrr busy during summer time, there was already a line at 8:45am. Good coffee, good food and ok service. Everything was served in disposable but make sense because they’re too busy to clean up tables and dishes. Cool place though!
R.Wow, this place is so tranquil and relaxing. Coffee was great! And the Date and Orange Scone is amazing. We will be returning again and again. Can't wait to get there in the evening and see how beautiful it looks with all the lights. Highly recommend
J.Now back being managed by the original creator of the magical Secret Garden Willy, it has a renewed vibe. More seating & vibrant decor. Yes they use takeaway cups but they have a composting system going behind the scenes. They have a renowned French chef who really knows how to create tasty dishes with many flavors, Cajun, Mexican etc. Would definitely recommend the salads, burritos & Mexican rice bowls...& their delicious rolled savory scones & juices....plus the Coconut lattes 😊

However not safe for celiacs, only ordered gluten free items but as I saw being a open kitchen it was all cooked on same grill and the allergic reaction after clarified it for me
Just make sure if you come here your very clear about if your celiac/ or very allergic to gluten to the person taking the order, as I asked the girl to make note of it and she just looked confused and finalized order without adding anything.

K.Tranquility and relaxation in this oasis offering friendly service, great coffee and tasty food. The private sheltered seating areas scattered amongst the lush garden took me back to balmy days in Bali. The attention to detail and the organic, earthcaring focus adds to the atmosphere which it's owners and staff have obviously worked very hard to create. A credit to them.
J.We went to the secret garden this morning for brunch and it was great! Area is beautiful and filled with lots of nature. I had the chargrilled pepper and tomato quiche with a tropical green smoothie. It was delicious! My only complaint would be about ordering as it is confusing finding where to pick up food and order. Would definitely come back to this lovely cafe.
J.Beautiful Garden Setting with nice food. The garden setting is back off the main street, so if you need a break and some peace whilst having a cuppa, then this is the place for you. I found it a bit pricey but everything else was great.
A.An amazing place to go to for a coffee, food, or a drink. Even dogs are allowed in, but all I have to say is keep them off the tables!!
C.After looking for a place to take the kids for dinner and walking out of 1 place that had less than average service we noticed a sign in the middle of the main street of waihi beach saying "secret garden tiki hut" on arrival through the entrance we were surprised by the transportation effect of the different seating areas and the tropical garden surroundings...then with a mexican food truck type simple menu we were very happily surprised by the great food and awesome service 😀
l.Interesting place. Very chill. Has a good vibe. Food and drinks very average. I recommend it.
C.A lovely garden area with some homewares shops integrated into the area. The cafe has a nice selection of cakes and snacks, but didn't seem like a place for a hearty meal. I found it a bit unsustainable that all coffees regardless of eat-in or take-away are served in take-away cups.
D.A little paradise. Visit Secret garden on a hot day and feel like on Bali. Just gorgeous planted garden with tropical greens and palm trees. Little Balinese pavilion s to sit in and great coffe and food.
L.Really beautiful spot to just relax and chill. Lovely fake paradise vibe completely surrounded by plants and birds. A spectacular spot to read or write for a few hours. Very friendly staff too! Also supporting green initiatives too which is always a bonus! Highly recommend

We’ve been to Bali a few times, & loved it every time. We’ve been missing it in this Covid world.
The Secret Garden Waihi Beach gave us a little infusion.
Can’t wait to go back.
Can’t believe they have created this paradise. Right here in NZ. It is everything we love about Bali.
And then they go and have South American BBQ’s. NZ’ers love their BBQ’s, but so does Argentina/ Chile/ Sth America.
We want to come back. Again and again. And again.
Our new fave! Love wot this does for the community. Love there to be A Secret Garden in Papamoa.
O, & did we say the Kai was a mazing!
M.Nice escape from the normal coffee shops. Can get crowded and you may not have a place to sit. They just do takeaway coffee cups which can speed up the time people spend there. Plenty of food also available as well as smoothies. Check it out if you want something a little different.
J.Went twice in one day because we enjoyed it so much. Gorgeous lush tropical garden setting, Bali huts, bean bags and umbrellas. Delicious cheese scones, coffee, raw Rockie road and smoothies. Friendly service. Nice homewares scattered throughout to purchase. A must visit in Waihi.
E.One of my fav places! The staff where really nice AMAZINGG Burritos and smoothies. Highly recommend you check it out :)
J.This place caught me eye on the main road and I felt like I stepped into a tropical wonderland. Just sublime. Great vibe and loved the design, decor, music. Also art work too.
Oh and best coffee milk mocha I’ve had and don’t start me on the lemon curd coconut scones. My new reason to drive from Hamilton to Waihi Beach now

Situated in a beautiful, jungle-like setting, the winter sun still managed to shine through into this lovely al fresco garden café. Friendly staff took it to that extra level. Oh - and our coffees were top notch, too!

H.For such a well done-up spot and ostensibly skilled baristas it is a real shame that this place only serves coffee in takeaway cups. Bizarre choice... our other gripe was that our spot was pretty dirty with bits of the previous customer's rubbish and an odd rotten kind of smell. Maybe some spilt milk that wasn't cleaned properly or just some of the fruits rotting nearby... It's a gorgeous garden but I guess it's not easy to keep clean.
B.The new people who have taken over have brought back the fantastic vibe.

R.This cafe is a great little oasis in the main shopping street of Waihi Beach. They are completely up with the latest: like oat milk, and rice straws for the iced drinks. There is a bit of a wait for coffees over the weekends, but they are worth it.

The garden setting is gorgeous, seating at shaded tables and in lovely open shalas with a nice breeze even on a warm day.
Food was nice enough but pretty expensive for what it is. NZ$20 for a small smoothie and a very small salad portion.
Disappointed to have a smoothie served in a bio-plastic cup instead of an actual reusable glass. The only vegan food option (that wasn’t a cake) was a very small serving of a zucchini noodle salad which was also pre-packed in a plastic container.
Raw type cakes looked good but I needed a meal rather than a sweet treat.
Staff were nice and service was efficient even when busier.
Could be incredible but perhaps they have limitations due to council restrictions on the kitchen facilities or seasonal visitors???
L.Amazing coffee spot. The atmosphere is like no other. Once you pass through the gates into the garden you can order coffee and then find a hut to sit under. These huts have a couple of bean bags surrounding them and a coffee table. The garden is lush and full of large plants, reminiscent of a rain forest. And because of that, when you find a spot under a hut it is generally quite secluded. Worth a visit if you haven't yet been. But check the operating hours as they may be seasonal, I'm not sure.
F.Beautiful garden. Delicious lemon and coconut and savoury scone. Very good coffee- serve them in single use non compostable cups though which is bad, so remember your coffee cups. Butter also comes in individual portions in plastic too.
T.Great iced coffee and savory scones. Nice garden with aromatic and beautiful flowers just put this place over the top in Waihi.

O.Beautiful cafe garden hidden at the back of the waihi beach shops. It was a very busy weekend so just got a scone and a coffee to take away. Although there were quite a few people there it took about 5 minutes for our order.
F.This amazing garden oasis in the main shopping street of Waihi beach was the highlight of our visit. It is at the centre of a collection of small outlets - a cafe called the Pod, one selling furnishings from Asia and Australia, plus other men's and women's clothing of beautiful quality. The garden is tropical and has great little nooks to sit in while eating or drinking. So peaceful.
N.What an incredible spot to relax and soak up the sun! The coffee was brilliant and whilst we didn't try any, the food did look delicious. Plenty of games for the kids and great little 'Bali Huts' to set yourself up in.
The staff are also super friendly!
H.It really is like a secret garden. You enter a garden wondering if this is the right place and come across tables and statues and little huts. It's gorgeous. Sparrows are plentiful cleaning crumbs up for you.

M.Quiet secluded setting, decent coffee and food. Watch out for bird deposits on the chairs and from above. I'be been pooped on twice while eating here now... Slow learner you might say. I'd recommend the covered pagodas with kneeling takes in future.

C.The food was really good, they were doing Mexican style when we went, they're moving to Asian style soon. Service was great the lady on the counter was incredibly friendly and helpful. And they were brilliant with us taking the dogs in with us, they were actually welcomed, not just allowed. The Bali style seating out back made it very easy to settle the dogs and not feel like they were in anyone's way. Great place!
