It's got quite an old school vibe, the menu is fairly standard, and I have to admit I was more than a little worried when we got there. However, we both had a burger, one chicken and one plain old beef. Again not out there modern but exceedingly well put together with very fresh ingredients and they were very good. My wife couldn't finish her chicken burger so we took it home and I had it later. Also the chips were monsters, I reckon I could have fatally beaten a small furry animal with some of them. The cabinet food selection was also massive.

Nice little cafe. I had a savoury and a panini. The savoury was nice but the panini was in a hot dog bun which was a little strange. Coffee was ok.

Lovely food. Unfortunately I found a bit of baking paper in the pastry of my black doris plum and apple tart. I had taken it away, so didnt find it till later. It was like it had been mixed in when making the pastry.

Quirky cafe in the "chucked together" style that is not unusual in Waihi. Comfortable seating and plenty of places to sit. The food was good, more like a proper cafe than a bakery although the presentation is somewhat bakery-like, and the serving sizes for food and coffee are good. Prices are reasonable and it appears to be very popular. The location, near the top of town, is good. Parking can be hard to find.

$7 for a coffee. I'm from Welly and this is the most expensive coffee I've ever had. $1 for soy and $1 for decaf! Avoid the poached eggs. Young man was very polite though.

Top hot chocolate with a truly tasty quiche makes a great start to the day. But then, I could not leave until I had purchased one of those rhubarb tarts, it almost jumped out of the cabinet begging me to eat it. Of course my tummy couldn't possibly NOT fall in love with such a beautiful sweet tart. Me and my tummy will be back.

Hands down best cafe I've been to. Every item on the menu I've tried tastes exceptionally good and you can tell that it is all made fresh in house with care. The rhubarb/fruit tarts are particularly special, and the prices are reasonable.

If you feel like s lovely quiet coffee in a coffee bar with a seine restful feeling this is the place to go. The service is great the food is all made on the premises and absolutely mouthwatering. The interior is absolutely spotless. The only thing I felt that let them down today was the coffee. Overall great value for money and a breather.

Hadn't been for a while but it looks very much like they have ditched the Formica tables and Kiwi treats like white bread sandwiches. Precisely the things that made them stand out from the crowd!. To be fair, the coffee and the rubarb tart we had were good.

Came here on the way through looking for something to eat, and this was recommended on Google. The food was delicious, as was the coffee!! The French toast is amazing, and is covered in bacon and banana! The coffee isn't bitter and tastes great. Definitely recommend this place.

Coffee was great, flat whites and long black alike, rare in our household of differing coffee tastebuds. almond croissant and lemon slice were delicious and the rhubarb tarts were to die for. But then I always was a sucker for rhubarb. The pastry was perfectly short on the three tarts I took away for afters as clearly the tarts are their speciality. And they didn't disappoint, filled to brim with fruit and such good value. Can't recommend highly enough.

Best food in main Waihi! If you have a sweet tooth then you must try the strawberry cream donut... it is divine! If you like savoury, then please try the Angus Mozzarella Cheese pie. OMG I can still feel the stretch of the cheese..I have tried award winning pies, these guys have to be upt there!! This place does some good cabinet food. I will try the main menu next time!
