I.Stopped by here on New Year's Day 2022. Great food and coffee (we had the meat lovers and mushrooms on toast breakfasts) and lovely customer service which should be noted given the wait staff were under a lot of pressure with a full house at the time. Also, presentation of the food was great.
B.Great cafe, Lovely food and drinks, I had a really good hot chocolate. Friendly staff and very airy seating areas...both inside and outside tables and chairs. Worth calling in for a lovely meal

The chocolate shop was lovely and also well presented. Pretty decent handmade chocolate, some really cool creations, though some tasted like it had been sitting there too long.
L.Stopped today for take away coffees at level 3. Absolutely fantastic. Also couldn't resist the donut of the day - raspberry cheesecake flavour! Just YUM 😋
J.What a fantastic cafe. We arrived about 15 minutes before midday and glad we did due to the in flux of people. The chocolate shop attached is dangerous. The food is simply brilliant. I ordered the mayo cheese burger and hats off to the chef. A burger that you can eat by picking it up is a great start. The pattie was cooked medium rare and well seasoned. Cheese was melted on to the pattie and the mustard cut through the richness of the mayo. The sour dough bun looked home made and was toasted perfectly. Chips were home made and perfectly crispy. Wife had the eggs benedict and she finished it, normally she leaves some left over, but not this time. The children had chicken and chips which was all gone by the time wife had got back from the chocolate shop. Coffee smelt great but we were coffee'd out so went with chai lattes. There is a nook as you walk to the toilets for the younger ones with a TV playing movies and toys to play with. The cafe is wheelchair friendly. We will be back.

F.Ive been a regular customer of Chocolate Brown for the last 7 years. The Chocolaterie has a whole range of delicious chocolates and the Praline mixed chocolate selection boxes have always been a perfect gift for colleagues and friends.
The cafe has an amazing selection of food and lately my favorite has been the Keto Pizza slices.
The mixed berry truffle chocolate cakes are divine and we often buy these to share in morning tea shouts at work.
The staff are all friendly and there's always good vibes in the cafe. Its our favorite place to catch up for brunch or a coffee with friends and family.
We're so lucky to have this unique Chocolaterie and cafe in Warkworth!
B.We spent the weekend at Kawau Island and had the Rescue Helicopter evac one of our hosts. We were a bit down in the dumps when we called into Chocolate Brown for some brunch and to gather our thoughts. What a wonderful surprise we had instore for us. The food was superb, the staff were just fantastic and we could not fault this café. The lady who owns Chocolate Brown was attentive, friendly and thoroughly engaging with a heart felt desire to ensure our visit was memorable, and it was. Our 1st visit will not be our last. Well done for everything you do, thank you to all your staff for working on a public holiday and we will be back. BTW loved the informative board at the entrance outlining your policy regarding masks, it is most pleasing to see and the relief to guests as they read it and removed their masks was pleasing to see.

P.A little bit more interesting than most cafes - mostly because of the chocolate shop next door.
Staff always seem a little stressed, so i could see a number of customers saying they thought they were a little rude. For me, i was a little surprised to see that they are not keen on wiping the tables. I wonder if they are usually a little short staffed?
$5 for a big coffee (and is proper big size), very drinkable, and a couple of chocolate buttons as a nice touch.

M.A good place for brunch in the heart of Warkworth serving typical breakfast menu. A busy little cafe delivering decent food at a fair price. Friendly staff and great service. However, my order came out without bacon which was quickly rectified upon request.

N.When I went they didn't have any fudge, this was due to the fudge maker being away, was still confused as to why they only have one fudge maker but I didn't mind. Just strange. The coconut ice was still good and the hot drinks are all nice. The store has a nice vibe and is always very clean including the bathrooms.

P.I have no problem with a cafe charging a 15% surcharge. I do however feel they should at least provide a good standard of food.
Eggs Benedict with hard boiled eggs wasn't a great start. Burnt toast and fried eggs made it clear they clearly were not interested in quality.
Charge what you like yes, but don't expect repeat customers when you claim a surcharge during Covid, want people to spend their cash locally, and provide mediocre food.
Would have been 1*, but the front of house staff where great, and attentive. Might be worth a try again..........
M.We had a team meeting here and were in St John uniform. The amazing pastry chef offered to pay for our food and coffee for 6 of us. Incredibly generous and cant thank her enough for making us feel so valued. Great food and coffee and even better staff.
C.A pleasant cafe with good food selection and good coffee. The small outside area at the front of the cafe could do with a bit of a spruce up. The sick plants spoil the look of the area. Attached is a well stocked deli/specialty food store.
M.Me and my friend visited this place 2 weeks ago and it was one of the best chocolate cakes we had! What a cozy cafe and the staff was amazing and so friendly! They gave us scones to take home as they were closing when we left, how thoughtful and kind. I highly recommend this place and if you’re craving a good old chocolate cake like your mum used to bake - look no further! 😋🍫🍰

A.Beautiful cafe situated slightly away from the bustle of the main street. Plenty of roadside parking. Cabinet food/ menu food. Wheelchair access not perfect but possible. Chocolatery attached next door. All manner of quality handmade chocolate items available, along with imported sweets etc. Toilet on site.

A.Lovely place for lunch we pop in here whenever we go north. Good breakfast options, amazing range of hot chocolates to try! Cabinet food options too. Try and book or be prepared to wait for a table at peak times. Don't forget to check out the chocolate store next door for amazing truffles and chocolate treats.
P.We were a party of four adults on our way North from Auckland dropping in for a late lunch. The cafe was well patronised at the time but we immediately spotted a suitable table. We were advised by a friendly staff member the kitchen was closing soon. Quick decision were made and orders placed. The lunch came out in good time and the food looked great on the plate. My mince on toast was missing some hot sauce. I had finished my meal before realising hot sauce was available. The fact I didn't look up from my plate is indicative of the quality of the food. All the plates were returned clean. We enjoyed our meals. The steak was excellent and considered the best value.
After lunch we feasted our eyes on chocolate treats on display next door. The temptation was too much for our party. We left the establishment chewing chocolate covered toffee caramel.
S.Gosh I do love these hot chocolates. My toddler is a fan also. She fell asleep in the car as soon as she drank one. They are the super rich, thick italian style ones. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! It wasn't even my cheat day, yet I drank some.
Talked to the owners about what they are doing to be sustainable and they are one of the best cafes around. Most packaging compostable, already in the process of using starch-based cellophane instead of plastic for other things. They offer used coffee grinds to locals for gardening etc. instead of putting them into landfill.

The coffee at this popular cafe is excellent - nice and strong! On Friday nights, Chocolate Brown does the catering at the Warkworth Bowls Club. We had a delicious grilled tarakihi and very good spinach and ricotta cannelloni with a fantastic vegetable buffet! This was a great and reasonably priced Friday night dinner!!
R.Great selection of individual chocolates to choose from. Kids enjoyed selecting their own in their own little parcel to take away. The fudge selection is also great, some very interesting flavours we had not come across before. Loved the Hokey Pokey fudge and Brulee fudge in particular. We went next door to the cafe for coffee and that was really good coffee. Super busy and popular spot.
C.It takes extraordinary discipline to walk through the cafe doors and not turn into the chocolate and lolly store. I'm not very disciplined. Good food and coffee too.

N.Coffee was good the at the front desk was super lovely and talkative which was so nice her customer service was top notch, then I bought chocolate from the seperate store. Don’t feel it was worth the money, tasted quite watered down and flavourless. Being the fussy Aucklander I am with a sea of amazing cafes and chocolate I am sad to say with competition out there I don’t think it was worth a trip out of Auckland for this cafe, however I would definitely make a trip to Bennett’s in Mangawhai for my moneys worth in future
