K.What a delightful spot on a blistery Friday morning. Mango smoothie was deliciously thicc. Coffee was milky hot and serves quickly (for how busy this place is). Service was excellent, with a chatty and cheerful staff. Grabbed a homemade tomato relish with a nice kick.
N.Nice coffee, they were a bit low on pastries when I was there at 10.30.
D.Gorgeous service, EXCELLENT Coffee (People’s), medium sized selection of food, BUT the quality and price is perfectly pitched; it looks great and from the Christmas Slice I had, the other food is gonna be top notch. Note, they do pre-prepped meals at the bottom of the fridge - nice, highish-end stuff. Also sell artisan bread on Saturdays...locally made. Scorching Bay?, I think?

Wellington has NOT been wow-ing me coffee/food combos, since I’ve been back - (needs to match the looks with the taste more) so I’m glad to say this place has done so. Give it a whirl...!!!!
H.Really good coffee, nice snacks and bread from the Shelly Bay Bakery (although it always sells out fast). They also do nice brunch too. The space is quite small and it is really busy, but it is normally possible to get a table if you wait.

R.I didn't really know this place existed. Such a cute little place. We just some hot chocolates at the time as it was closing, though they were very enjoyable, my son even went back for a second. Well worth a visit which I must do again to explore the range a bit more, as it's super clean and very well presented, and I expect the food all very fresh.
F.I have used Betsy to cater a number of events recently. Jessica has been invaluable in helping me select the right items for the different events and at each event, the food has been a standout success. The food and service of the team is of a very high quality and I can highly recommend them, especially their Raspberry Vegan treat. It is heaven.
O.Got my first take home meal today, the chicken tagine. Delicious! Restaurant quality food. Betsy is a great Deli, lovely home baking, great flavors and the coffee is good too.

K.We were so excited when Betsy opened, it's a new and very welcome addition to Island Bay! Lots of amazing baking to try, but we particularly love the brioches, the banana and chocolate tahini bread and the donuts! There's also yummy toasted sandwiches for lunch and keen to try the take-out meals for dinner one night too. Oh and great coffee!

I met a friend here for a catch up over coffee during the week. They have one table with 6 seats, a wee window bench with a couple of bar stools and another nartow bench against a wall with a couple of stools in a small clean well lit area.
There's a small range of savoury snd sweet food to choose from that included one vegan option and a couple of gluten or dairy free options.
I didn't take note of what the take home meal was at the bottom of the small food cabinet.
There's a choice of three teas and the usual range of hot chocolate and of coffee.
Lovely to see they use take away containers that go into the compost when they are done with.
Lovely service and lots of genuine smiles from the staff. I wish them well in their venture.
I'll be back & hopefully there'll be a seat!
One year later.....Betsy has become a valued member of our Island Bay café community. It always seems to be busy and the food is delightfully different and made on the premises where possible. They source ingredients locally, use organic and fair trade where possible.
