Reviews of Cable Top Eatery
Great experience all round! Located at the top of the cable car track this is a pretty neat place. With cute decor and great view’s looking over Wellington it is certainly a pleasant spot. The waitstaff were friendly and service was quick. The coffee and food were also very good. Overall we had a very enjoyable breakfast here
The cafe was packed and every table was taken. The staff spotted us looking for a table said come back in 15 minutes after a walk in the gardens. Drifted back after our walk the staff remembered us and had a table waiting.
The food was so good I started to eat the pizza before taking a photo. Kumara chips are a must have side.
Loved the atmosphere of this place sat inside and out they have such a beautiful view of the city. We enjoyed a lovely glass of rose with our meals. There was a bit of a mix up with our food took slightly longer to come out but we weren’t too fussed the staff were so kind and helpful. Steak was a tad bit under cooked and my pasta was a bit cold but overall we enjoyed the meal will be back !
Today went to have lunch before gone to Space place with the kids. Lovely cafe just next to cable car too. We ordered pizza and really enjoyed it.
Staff were helpful and friendly. It was lovely to have such a tender steak with different ideas of potatoes with mushrooms. I enjoyed the change.
The views of Wellington City and sea are one of the best in Wellington and such a delight to see from the fabulously large windows surrounding us. I diffinately will be back to enjoy the delights this place has to offer.
The staff were really friendly. The outdoor tables are a bit windy so you have to be careful not to have your napkin blow away, but the view is nice and cool. Food was okey.
Awesome spot to visit if you’re looking for brunch with a view out over Wellington, the only thing that is missing is the service.
We ordered two drinks and waited over 25min for them before asking for an update, waited another 10mins and then left without them arriving.
The food looks good but a pretty poor experience for us.
Super super tasty brunch and really nice iced lattes. The ham off the bone in the eggs bene was exceptional. Would recommend less salt for the truffle mushrooms but apart from that, excellent 🌞 Gorgeous outdoor seating area with views.
Fabulous atmosphere and views, super friendly staff and great classic cocktails and wines. I personally don’t rate the food too highly (sorry!) but the slices are tasty - just not quite as good as other comparable places. 100% worth a visit for drinks, vistas and chats. 5 stars for those things + great service.
Cable Top Eatery in Wellington is a delightful dining experience that left me with a positive impression. I had the pleasure of trying a variety of dishes, including their beef pizza, spaghetti, and coffee options.
The beef pizza was a standout, with a perfect balance of flavors and a delicious crust. The spaghetti was cooked to perfection and had a rich, flavorful sauce that was simply delectable.
As a coffee lover, I appreciated their flat white coffee and cappuccino. Both were expertly brewed, showcasing the cafe's commitment to quality coffee.
The ambiance at Cable Top Eatery was cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal or grab a coffee. The staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience.
Overall, Cable Top Eatery is a fantastic choice for a satisfying meal in Wellington. Whether you're craving pizza, pasta, or a great cup of coffee, this place has you covered. I highly recommend it and look forward to visiting again in the future.
Pretty good food at a reasonable price for what's a very hot tourist spot in Wellington. We had mussels and pasta. The mussels and smoothie were nice but the pasta was really bland. Otherwise great views on a weekend and good brunch spot.
Great little cafe/restaurant with a million dollar view. The food was delicious, and the access through the cable car made it even more interesting. Certainly a place worth visiting.
Update: yesterday's visit was a disappointment. Milky, weak mocha and flat white complemented very average meals. The person I was supposed to impress with this cafe was everything but. It may be because they were busier than usual.
Beautiful view of Wellington and the harbour gets a five on its own. However, I also highly rate the lovely waitstaff, the excellent moist carrot cake and enjoyable coffee which was well done. We only stayed for 30 mins as we had a bit of time to kill, but regret not eating a full meal - some of the meals passing by looked great! Thanks team for making us feel welcome
Took the kids for brunch at Cable Top Eatery before we went to Space Place today. There were throngs of customers coming in and out, perhaps busier than usual given it was the school holidays. I was impressed with the service - prompt and calm despite the buzz of activity - we didn't have to wait long to be seated, have our order taken or served. The kids were given colouring sheets with a box of colour pencils to keep them occupied while we waited for the food to arrive, a pleasant distraction from rumbling tummies. I enjoyed their delicious NZ green lipped mussels steamed in cream Sauvignon, Italian parsley & served with buttered sea salt focaccia ($25.50) while the kids had a Mozzarella pizza ($12.50) and Fried chicken and chips ($12.50) from the kids menu plus a kid-size Carrello gelato ($5) each to finish. Plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, plus the view overlooking the city is just amazing. All in all a great dining experience for me and the children :)
To be honest I was expecting an expensive tourist trap being at the top of the cable car but we were surprised.
We were greeted immediately and our waiter was incredibly personable and knowledgeable about all the items on the menu.
The food arrived quick despite the cafe being mostly full. The mushroom on beetroot hummus and chicken Ceasar salad was incredible. Very clean plates by the end.
If we were in town another day we would probably go back for the food and great service. Worth a visit.
Cable Top Eatery is my local. Living nearby means I can go ahead and grab that coffee and pastry without much thought. The coffee is good, and if you get there early enough, the pastries would still be warm out of the oven (though you can also ask for them to be warmed up). The food is tasty but on the high end for price. The view from there is fantastic though.
Great food, Terrific service and fantastic views. You can catch the cable car up, have lunch and walk back. There are two museums a perfumery and the cable car museum up top and a botanic garden
This restaurant honestly does nearly everything super well. The wait staff is so friendly, the food of all types are beautifully prepared and delicious —the chia pudding is flat-out incredible, the kids mozzarella pizza has a fantastic crust, the hashbrowns are super tasty — and the drinks are excellent. Their various iced tears are inventive and refreshing but their killer app is their kombucha, which is fruity, fizzy, and not that vinegary at all. Easily one of the best restaurants in Wellington, and I haven’t even mentioned the awesome views from this high vantage point.
We didn't eat here but we came to get some cash out and the staff were so friendly and amazing! Me and my daughter really appreciated this service from them and were most grateful for the cash out option 😁
Lovely place for a meal or just a bite to eat. Great views. Friendly.
Good food. Eggs were slightly over cooked though but they remade them. Best views of Wellington's city. Service was amazing. Carrot cake was ok.
Lunch @ Cable Top Eatery.
.
Packed during meal times thanks to its fantastic view of the city from the verenda, Cable Top Eatery is an oasis for those taking in the sights in the area.
.
The Beer Battered Tarakihi Fillet, Lemon, Tartare, Steak Cut Chips (NZD $23) is possibly the lightest lunch meal on their menu.
.
This has fresh fillets of lean tender flaky tarakihi fish, coated in a crisp golden beer batter, crunching lightly to release pleasant mild sweet savoury salty flavour.
.
The medium steak cut potato chips are light and fluffy and crisp, with good starchy salty savoury sweet flavour.
.
A drizzle of lemon juice for a tangy zesty sour note, paired with thick tomato ketchup with vegetal sweet sour flavour, and creamy tartar sauce with milky sour sweet flavour, to complete.
.
Served piled high in a mesh basket, the Kumara Chips With Aioli And Tomato Ketchup (NZD $12) are made from medium cut strips of kumara, the New Zealand variety of sweet potato, of which there are 4 kinds, red, orange, purple, and gold.
.
With a crisp exterior and fluffy interior, the kumara chips have enticing vegetal earthy sweet starchy flavour. Paired with thick tomato ketchup with vegetal sweet sour flavour, and a creamy aioli with milky savoury sweet notes.
.
The Chocolate Afghan Biscuit (NZD $5) is a decadent snack. The biscuit itself has a soft sticky dense texture, while the topping of chocolate icing is creamy thick, contrasted by the crunch of walnut pieces on top.
.
Has a chocolately sweet nutty flavour. A bit too much for my palate though, it's a really rich dessert.
Enjoyed such a lovely breakfast here after a ride up on the Wellington Cable Car - our friendly wait staff “Hendi” made it a super fun experience and recommended an outside table where we enjoyed the sunshine and the amazing view.
Our food was so delicious, the whole menu looked yum and place as a whole has a very relaxing vibe. Extra Gold star for the service with a smile from Hendi.
We went for a coffee on a Sunday afternoon, The venue was very attractive , with stunning views. However it was very noisy and the staff member we dealt with was neither efficient, (no spoons with our cups) and not very friendly either.
We spent the weekend in Wellington for my daughter's birthday, this place was the best food out of all the places we ate at. Couldn't fault anything, great staff, very welcoming, the food was OHH MYY GOODNESS heavenly 😋 thank you all so much
We stopped in for some quick espressos to enjoy on the patio after exploring around the gardens in the afternoon. Staff was friendly and our drinks didn’t take long. The cafe is adorable with lanterns hanging from the ceiling, and views over the entire Wellington coastline. Great for a sunny afternoon! The outdoor patio is set up with taller bar tables as well as longer wooden tables with benches. We didn’t partake in the food but the menu also looked good! Would recommend checking out for breakfast or brunch, or an afternoon coffee and snack.
Staff were friendly and attentive to us and our little one. We got the mushroom risotto and fish and chips. Mushroom risotto was cooked perfectly and was delicious. 10/10 would recommend trying this dish. Thank you for the great service and great food.
Very good eats and coffee. One of the best sausage rolls in Wellington IMHO. Stunning views and helpful staff. Thanks guys.
Really delicious banana smoothie. Nice views and friendly staff. Great place to visit after looking around at the top of wellington.
A fantastic carrot cake and probably the best cup of Earl Grey tea I've had in NZ. Well worth the visit for the views, too.
The service is always fabulous, with friendly and engaging staff! The food is consistently excellent in the range on the menu, to the quality when it arrives and over all value for what you are getting. We come here often and are never disappointed, whether it’s just for take out coffee or for brunch. Highly recommend you try and see for yourself!
Absolute hidden gem at the top of the cart. Our server was so friendly and enthusiastic, I could tell he genuinely loved his job. Great gluten free selection, I had a gf French toast and took away on of the gf scones. Safe to say it's the best I've ever had! Well worth stopping in while you're up the top
Tasty fish and chips. Can be crowded and maybe should have more staff. Amazing views with indoor and outdoor seating.
Great food, coffee and views but food took about 45 minutes to arrive at our table.
Had a lovely experience at this eatery. The food was fantastic and the wait staff was so personable and friendly! Went with the recommended passionfruit smoothie and it did not disappoint. Everything else ordered was equally delicious and came out promptly. Would highly recommend and already looking forward to my next brunch there 😊
Great views, lovely food (I really like the pizza there).
Great views across Wellington harbour through large picture windows with doors to outside seating. Absolutely fabulous on s glorious day but you’d need to be inside in a Southerly!
Boss man who served us was a character and good coffee. Right next to cable car for a quick trip to central city.
Went there one early afternoon a few weeks ago. After seated and ordered, came to find out they were only serving pizza and drinks. The food was decent. The serving staff were young and newly hired which led to some service hiccups that should smooth out over time.
Outstanding food, service and views! We came straight up to the cafe after arriving in Wellington early on a Saturday morning and were in for a treat. The team were lovely and the breakfasts delicious. Hubby got the big brekkie, and I got The Bene. This has actual ham off the bone, the most divine parmesan and rosemary hash, poached eggs, and the best hollandaise sauce I have EVER tasted! Highly recommended.
A little hidden gem, the best views in Wellington. Beautiful service, coffee and a damn good cheese scone! Will be back ☺️
Amazing food and view. The staffs are nice and helpful too
My food was amazing, partner's was stale. Otherwise was a great place for brunch before heading back into the city through the gardens
Absolutely love Cable Top Eatery. The staff are always so kind and the food and the coffee is always amazing. They have heaps of keto, vegan and gluten free options. Highly recommend the keto pizza!!!
Exceptional New York style cheesecake!
Have not had a meal here though. A friend once got the muscles and loved them.
Their selection of cakes and slices changes regularly. The cheesecake is not always there, either.
Nice food, friendly staff and beautifull view of Wellington 😍 My partner and I had our brunch here on a sunny Sunday and we really enjoyed it. Will def be back.
Brunch was great, including espresso martinis! Not a fan of their hash, but the rest of the food was excellent 👌
Good food. The mushroom pizza was fantastic!
Wish there were more options for smaller plates/bites though.
Great view of Wellington CBD outside of the Cafe.
Very busy but decent food and wonderful cold drinks - milkshakes and iced chocolates were all very good.
Great food and excellent view of Wellington. Visited during lunch time on a Sunday. Ordered the french toast with bacon, smashed avocado on sour dough and caramel milkshake. There was a queue to order the food but the counter lady was friendly and fast. Food came quite quickly as well. Really enjoyed the french toast and the avocado toast (especially the cherry tomatoes!). Milkshake was not as thick as I would like it but still good.
Came here for our 20th Wedding anniversary lunch today.
Fantastic service, amazing views, and delicious food.
Highly recommend.
Enjoyed a cool drink after our walk in the Botanic gardens. Service was good.
Good range of food for various dietary requirements and preferences. Staff were friendly and helpful
Very enjoyable experience in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with stunning view over the city. Delicious food on offer and excellent service.
Great place cor breakfast after taking a ride in the Wellington Cable Car. The views arw breath taking as you look out across the city. The food is VERY good and the service and staff were excellent. We had the " Bene " with ham on the bone and it waa delic. Go on get up there and try it yourself.
Hi, we ordered a 50-50 pizza, fries and milkshake and a coffee. We loved the view, the fries and the milkshake, but my half of pizza was a bit sad (prawn pizza). Also, our waiter was lovely, but his face mask was probably too big for him and was hanging by his chin all the time leaving his nose and mouth uncovered.
🍪Location - it is well settled on the cable car top and the view is fantastic.
🍪Afghan Cookie - it tastes superb with crunchy yummy cereal bites in it. Chocolate favored food is always my favorite.
🍪Flat White and Long Black - I have to say as a cafe it did disappoint me with its coffee quality. Plain and boring tastes.
🍪Service - staff is friendly.
Great service and great food, definitely worth a visit if you're checking out the cable cars. They were busy when we arrived and we still were served promptly and with a smile from staff.
PS. The pizza was lovely 😊
Recently returned from a holiday in New Zealand and took a cable car to view the beautiful gardens and on the way back we saw this restaurant as we were so hungry and decided to try it.
I am so glad we did!!!
I ordered the scotch fillett and asked for it to be gluten free with a cappuccino to be lactose free.
The waiters/waitresses are all very lovely and ever so helpful.
When the meal came out I was flabbergasted. It looked absolutely amazing. It was decorated with the most colourful and beautiful edible flowers and when I cut into it, it was like butter! The most tender and delicious steak I have ever had and it was on a stack of vegetables with roast potatoes and mushrooms.
Compliments to the Chef!
It was absolutely delightful! And the price was only $28.00 AMAZING!!! THIS REVIEW IS THE LEAST I COULD DO.
Thank you so very much for making my trip more memorable.
If I ever come back to New Zealand I will make sure I come and eat at your wonderful restaurant. Thanks again
Relaxed ambiance, good coffee and attentive staff. We had a lovely breakfast today.
Very busy, suggest making a reservation. It was quite a loud atmosphere but has a great view over the city & harbour. Very good food & service. Nice area for dining outside on a good Wellington day
Can't recommend this place enough, they were very busy and the service was really quick! Food was delicious and the staff were so lovely.
I ordered a caramel milkshake and the man out the counter apologised that they didn't have any left. He told me he would sort a milkshake for me, so I had a vanilla and strawberry milkshake from the left overs that had in the kitchen. Exceptional service and lovely friendly staff.
We enjoyed our walk from the Botanical Gardens in Wellington, up to the Cable car Eatery, the waiter was friendly, we ordered the Gorgonzola, walnut, apple & rocket pizza & a pot of Kawakawa fire tea!
It was delicious, our dog was also offered a bowl of water!
A great place in Wellington, we'll be back!
Top view with drinks, cakes.
Do not forget to take a photo with the stunny view next to exit of cable car and the stairs. Than jump in for a coffee with some delicious cakes.
Gorgeous views of Wellington and a beautiful naughtical villa aesthetic inside Wellington right at the end of the cable car. Tasty food and very friendly staff.
(but if you're asking for a tumeric latte or chai make sure to ask for sweet because mine ended up being super spicy)
Amazing place. What a view , what a great taste of food.
Tried their croissant with jam and also eggs on toast. Really superb. 😋
Great venue with great views over Wellington
Loved grabbing a quick breakfast here while sight seeing in Wellington!
The outdoor area in the sun with the birds was lovely.
The staff went above and beyond for us and are incredibly friendly!
Great spot to stop off by the gardens.
Went here for lunch and got a seat outside in the sun. Beautiful views, lovely staff, delicious food and great cocktails too! We will definitely be coming back! Pic of the pizza after I’d eaten some, it was too good to wait!
The staff were so nice and friendly, attentive- great hosts!
And the pizzas were just fantastico!! And of course the view was amazing! Thank you Cable Top!!!
Probably the best eggs Benny I’ve ever eaten. Great location and staff. Must visit for Wellington.
After going up on the cable car popped in for a coffee and do try the keto coffee! Stunning views of Wellington. Then back down the tram to the city.
VERY GOOD COFFEE! The food was average but compare with the location and services I will definitely recommend it to my friends. The server was very friendly and helpful.
Warm sun, a refreshing breeze, awesome views, great coffee- perfection!
All this, and passion fruit smoothies…
Went here for lunch after a trip to the adjacent Cable Car Museum on the Matariki stat' holiday. Good food and great service on what appeared to be a very busy day for the staff.
A must do.
The trip up on the cable car is great. The Eatery itself has a great atmosphere with good decor to make it feel warm and friendly
Service was friendly despite being super busy with reasonable wait times. Although weirdly wait times increased as they got less busy
The Vegan pizza was great as well as some of the desserts like tiramisu and cheese cake
Coffee is fairly good too.
Lastly bathrooms were fairly clean and tidy.
Such great customer service and the staff were so kind food was so amazing. Definitely recommend for all who want amazing food.
The service here was okay but it took a little bit longer than I would have expected for a quiet morning to get an order in. We got eggs beny and kids eggs beny. The eggs and toast were good but the potato hash thing on the side was a bit weird and the potato wasn't cooked through properly. Smoothy was good but drinks took a while and came out after our food. We also asked for a scone to come out ASAP as the kids were hungry but it still just came out with the cook breakfast.
Good food... disorganised delivery.
Crowded..thats understandable..but no menus available on the tables. Everyone has to crowd into the small space around the cash register along with everyone ordering to see a blackboard menu. Needs to improve.
Fantastic food! Super friendly staff.
Cosy little place, to get out of the rain.
Excellent service so friendly and accommodating. It’s difficult to find places suitable to take my Mum aged 103 we had a cable car ride and were delighted to be able to have dinner here afterwards
Awesome service with pretty good food , let's not forget the view ! 😀
Came here only for a coffee and keto bread this time, will definitely revisit and try other, keto bread was yummy☺️
Busy cafe, but very friendly helpful staff with good quality meals and beautiful views of Wellington
Good cafe and would reccomend. My waiter kept singing? Or humming but it was nice as she is a good singer and added to the nice vibes of the cafe. Got a iced coffee with icescream and it was good! :) Pretty views also and staff were polite
Fresh orange juice was nice. Chai latte and coffee were good too. We didn't have a meal. Service was quite fast. It is very convenient at the top of the cable car.
This cafe/restaurant has great quality food and their opening hours are easy to obtain, but what is actually available during those hours is confusing. For example, the day we went they were open until 5.00pm, but from 2.30pm the only meal available was pizza and chips. We've been caught out like this on two visits now, months apart.
Beautiful little spot, a shame we only just discovered it after living in Wellington for the past 5 years!
Food menu is nothing special but delicious none the less.
Didn't have to wait too long.
My only critique would be that we had a table with high bar stools which were plastic, and were a little too unstable for my liking.
Ordered a coffee which took the staff over a hour to bring, Had a mussel Dish with creamy sauce. The sauce was like water not thickened. On trying to ask staff where the coffee was and complaining that the Dish I ordered the sauce was runnie , they reordered the coffee and brought it out 10 mins later 1 hour and 10mins to receive a coffee. I kept trying to get staff to tell them that we have not received our coffee. I was told that they were charging me half price for the meal which they did not do on the bill full amount was paid when my friend paid the bill. The staff seemed to find it funny by laughing amongst themselves very unprofessional and a long wait to eat. We had only gone there as we caught the cable car to the top. I had been there years ago and thought it was good. The only advantage was the stunning views. Do not recommend you eat there unless you order something simple as a salad.
Came here for a out-of-city brunch experience. Beautiful little Cafe with lovely atmosphere. Staff were relatively innatentive despite not being very busy. Very basic level of service, but friendly enough. Ordered breakfast and waited around 20 mins for coffee to come out. Another 20 for food, little bit on the slow side but no matter - we weren't in a rush. The food itself I found to be dissapointing. I ordered the mushroom medely and was gutted when only one type of mushroom was used. The egg was well overdone and it was overall lacking in flavor. The menu made it sound amazing but the presentation and taste was very much lacking. The beautiful location and atmosphere of the Cafe was the saving grace. I would certainly come back for the view, perhaps not the food though. Lots of potential here.
Great place with friendly staff and good food. Beautiful views of Wellington Harbour are a bonus.
Yesterday we really enjoyed a night out going to Cable Top Eatery to see the Retro Pack (Andrew and Kirsten London with April Phillips). A superb evening overlooking our lovely Wellington city. Our meal was excellent, staff were very attentive, wonderful music, the audience very appreciative - all in all a great night out. We'll be back!
Frances, Wellington
The most beautiful food. The staff were amazing. Sat outside in the sun. Highly recommend. We will be back! Thank you
Gorgeous atmosphere and views, wonderful staff, amazing food! We had such a wonderful dinner that we went back for breakfast the next morning! Best food we had on our entire trip to Wellington, and nothing was a bother. The staff were so friendly! Can’t wait for our next trip to Wellington!
Very bizarre service experience. We ordered 2 coffees, some chips and french toast without bacon. The French toast came with bacon, and only one coffee came out. We thought no major issue, just take the bacon off and then bring out the other coffee. They returned with the French toast, and we reminded them that we were still waiting on the coffee. 15 minutes later still no coffee. Other tables around us were receiving their coffee and we had now finished our food, so I went up to the counter to ask where it was - they said they would sort it out. In the meantime we also asked a different server if they could check on it. Another 15 minutes, still no coffee. Went back up to the counter to ask about it for the fourth time, since apparently none of the servers actually did anything about it and it still wasn't being made. From there it still took another 10 minutes for it to come out, so essentially waited almost an hour for one of the coffees we ordered.
Outside of that very strange lack of service, we had no issues :)
Stopped in for some refreshments.
Iced chocolates were superb 👌🏻.
Friendly staff, and a great view.
Perfect spot for morning tea after catching the cable car up here. Staff were friendly and helpful, I came here with my 1 year old and I was greeted at the door and seated quickly. They helped me get a high chair and move my stroller somewhere out of the way. The staff were very lovely and there were lots of smiles and interactions with my kid, which he absolutely loved. We had carrot cake and a coffee, both delicious! Thank you for looking after us this morning 😀
Great food, great views, and great live jazz music. Reasonably priced. Fantastic all round!
Di and team were absolutely amazing for our daughter and son in-laws wedding would recommend them highly. We had the option of indoor or out door and to be able to have the ceremony and reception in this beautiful space was amazing.
Thank you all for a fantastic wedding.
Good ambiance. Had soup of the day which tasted homely and cosy on a cold afternoon!
Well done! Beautiful views. Fast and friendly service. Delicious coffee!
Great coffee and treats. Fab service. Awesome city views on a fair day.
Nice place with view
Best coffee we’ve had since our arrival to NZ 4 days ago. Our waiter was so outgoing and friendly! He advised he bakes all the cakes himself! Can also highly recommend the Afghan chocolate cookie which complemented my coffee perfectly!
Great views but when we visited very busy and had to wait long time for drinks
All round decent we got pizzas and they were stone baked and well prepared and cooked. Would recommend. I’m a coffee snob, so the coffee wasn’t quite the best I’ve had, but was ok
Great service and great food. Loved this whole experience!
Thankyou staff and chefs! 😊
Beautiful view and lovely staff. Music was a little too loud for me and Chai could have been slightly finer as was too heavy and sunk, leaving me with hot milk.
Love this place, love the people, love the wine and love the fish and chips. I believe the scotch fillet is superb, too. Been many times, will go again many times -- but not when there are cruise ships in town!!!
They ran out of their caramel brownie so I just got one scoop of chocolate gelato instead... I couldn't see the price but when we went to pay found out it was $8 for ONE scoop in a cup... It was good but not worth $8. I find it dishonest when not all prices are shown up front. So that was a double disappointment. The waitresses were friendly though.
Edit: thank you for replying, I just checked the menus on the site, the price is on the brunch menu, but not the dinner/dessert menu. (We were there at dinner time) When I got up to see what types of gelato there were, the price wasn't obvious there either. Again probably because it was dinner time.
Very friendly. Nice coffee, and toasted cheese scone.
Great food, switch on waiter, ab fab views.
Friendly staff, beautiful food 😍 definitely visit again.
The staff where lovely and would have been a great spot on a sunny day. Had the pizzas and some drinks which were very nice, would go to again
The place is cool, with many events. And the food we ordered, the coconut ceviche soup was really impressive. The service did not go that well that day, but can have been a one time issue.
I had a wonderful morning at the Cable Top Eatery, I was severed by the friendliest sever Hendi, he made the whole experience very fun. I ordered the truffle mushrooms for breakfast and it was the yummiest breakfast I've had anywhere. All the staff were lovely... but Hendi was the bomb.
Had a Ruben. Disappointing. Fatty beef and pretty flavourless. Was told the bagel was good, so your mileage may vary.
Perhaps find somewhere else to eat.
Had my 21st here last week and had a great time. Food was excellent and the staff were all lovely and welcoming. Great view and decor, would definitely reccomend to anyone looking to book a private event :))
Awsome food and seevice. Wicked views and quick service with ordering. Highly recomend. Breakfast menu was perfect and delivered well. Thanks team for a great experience
Very lovely service! We moved around and changed to different tables, but the staff here are super friendly! Thanks all of you guys and see you guys again!
Everything was Amazing.Keep up the good service you offer.
Friendly service with yummy ice cream 🍦
Came here on a Saturday for lunch and drinks in the middle of the school holidays and had a wonderful experience! Staff on the floor were so so nice and everything was super quick. Couldn’t recommend more :))
I get you were all busy, but 25 min for a can of beer update. To be fair the guy did drop off the beer as soon and we asked.
Also please check your water glasses, I don't like looking or drinking out of a someone else's lipstick imprinted glass.
Cheese scone was fantastic and thanks for all the butter 😋
I usually enjoyed this place but today the steak sandwich was a disappointment. The meat was halved compared to last time and the bread wasn’t fresh. What a shame. Maybe they have a new chef.
Update:
The above review was written a few months ago; I revisited the eatery today . I used the voucher which was offered to me by the owner.
I am glad to say that there was a huge improvement. My favourite place is back. Thank you.
I changed my rating to 5 stars.
Love this place. Great food and awesome staff. Try to visit everytime we go to Wellington.
An amazing experience at the Cable Top Eatery. Fabulous service and menu. The food is delicious. Definitely worth the effort.
Found the food pricey. One piece of fish and chips priced at $26, but the service of staff lacking as they lent across the table to serve meals to the other side. No excuse me . Seem to have a lot of staff wondering around and yet slow to clear tables.
First time visiting the Cable Top Eatery. Outstanding view of Wellington on a sunny day.
We had an iced coffee, banana smoothie and 2 peanut butter cookies. We were very impressed with the size of the iced coffee, biggest we've seen. Nice drinks and cookies.
Staff were inviting with great service. Good atmosphere also.
