This was a great stop for us to the end of a great night. It was the cherry on top! Pun intended. Great ice cream. Good service, even better was the brownie with ice cream. Love the hot and cold mixed desserts. Well done team.

Kaffee Eis is one of my all-time favourites, especially since they started launching Fix & Fogg flavours! I had the most wonderful woman called Gemma attend to me and my fiancee tonight. She was super genuine in her conversation, thoughtful and fun in personality and beyond generous with my indecisiveness in ice-cream flavours. She really made our night that much more enjoyable! Will 100% be back :)

Poached eggs on toast for only $7. Small iced latte for $4.50. Single gelato costs $4.80 but it’s great value for quality and taste. Great place to treat yourself some fancy desserts. Lots of seating available, friendly staffs, and also free WiFi.

Good selection of gelato, good coffee and a selection of brownie/squares. Good ambience, noise level is fine for conversations, unlike some places where shouting is required just to chat. Nice place to drop by for a coffee or dessert after lunch or dinner elsewhere; a good alternative to dessert at a restaurant. Suggestion: (a fav of mine) if you can't decide between coffee or gelato, get an affogato and have both in one!

Best known for their gelato, Kaffee Eis is a nice cafe to hangout. It is usually crowded and there are times you will literally have to wait for a table to get free or walk out if you don't like to wait. We got carrot cake, mocha and cappuccino. Having a good cup of coffee after a long day can really help you destress. Their large is actually too big to have but gets you to relax. Their staff is really good and nice as well.

Our go to for coffee when we know most other cafes are closed! But not only! Great coffee (especially if you struggle to find a good soy flat white!) and the best basic sandwiches in town. We love the egg and the vege sandwiches.

We absolutely loved our visit here. The team were extremely friendly greeting you as soon as you walk in, offering a taste test of an ice cream flavours. It is a pretty busy spot to find a table but somehow we always manage to find a spot to sit. Best ice cream in town! 🍦 🍨

What a seriously cool Coffee Shop / Eatery and Galato Shop, all in one. Very friendly staff. Extremely busy, all the tables fully seated. While we were there, a continuous stream of people came to get their treats. We had a Vanilla Chocolate Chip Ice-cream Affigato, so seriously good. They have a big selection of Galato Ice-cream with big flavours, the real deal. The different fruit flavours were a very popular choice (Pineapple, Mango etc.) As we were leaving, I sampled the Liquorice Ice-cream, wow what a rich strong flavour. Locals and visitors can support the local eaterys, great treats and definitely value for money. We will be back to our treats before heading back home.

Amazing ice cream and great variety, the best I’ve had in a long time. The biscotti flavour keeps me coming back and is also the main reason I go to The Empire Cinema to see movies because it’s sold there too!

The icecream I had was no like any I had in Auckland. There even flavours that seemed quite exclusive to Kaffee Eis, but I cannot say for sure. The staff were sort of kind to customers, but things were served quick and with no hassle so no complaints.

Fantastic! On a cold windy day we stepped in and felt instantly warmed by a friendly and helpful waitress. Not to mention the delicious “warmed brownie and gelato combo” add a great coffee and we almost couldn’t leave! Highly recommended!

A group of us had a splendid breakfast there Saturday 6 October. The food was great, they were able to cater for a group of 7 with ease, the service friendly and then......... Firstly, the staff were wonderful. Cheerful and friendly, even gave some advice on a restaurant I asked them about. Secondly, the hot chocolate was great and the gelato was exceptional. I had the plum one, tons of flavour and a reasonable quantity for the price (though gelato isn't exactly a budget-friendly item). We'll definitely be returning next time we're in Wellington.

A staple. The pinnacle of inner-city ice cream - you scream, we all scream at the loss of PayWave because they can't afford it. Surprising, considering how expensive said ice cream (words which I'm using interchangeably with gelato) is. Its a nice cafe. Good atmosphere. Good selection. Tastes good. Feels good. But it all seems just a little boring to me, a little too bland. Ice cream is something that should be fun and exciting and bubbly fresh - Kaffe Eis is the least creative cafe in town. Maybe that's why it's so ubiquitous and has lasted so long. But in being so safe, it neglects to grasp the fifth star.

Love Kaffee Eis! My go-to icecream place, and I'm a great icecream lover. They have a wide range of flavours including many types of berries and fruits, classic chocolate and vanilla, and more interesting ones like gingernut, pistachio and black sesame. The mix of flavours is different every day, so you can try new flavours all the time. Their icecream is rich, creamy and beautifully smooth, cannot recommend highly enough!

We stumbled upon KE about 2 months ago and discovered it was the proud owner of an award-winning gelato. With our curiosity piqued we tried their popular and best sellers (their award-winning I/S flavour was not available unfortunately). We noticed that there was a steady stream of customers as their gelato takeout was indeed popular. We found their coffee and cakes to be good too and the young staff pleasant and obliging. There were not many free tables for coffee drinkers at peak times but the wait is short if you persist a little. Overall KE has a relaxing ambience with soft lighting which is soothing if you've had a "hard day's night" or been working "8 days a week". It's also perfect if you need a coffee after your meal, a show or a trip to the theatre. It is located at the corner of Garrett and Cuba Streets, opposite Army Surplus and has a quaint and humble frontage. The lower half of its windows is frosted and this is bordered by snowflake motifs. At the top, these windows are framed by a row of retro-coloured, glass panels. You can't miss it. Also check out the quaint ceiling which adds to its old world charm.
