⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐5stars to the overall experience.
I guess the fact the cafe is in the middle of the botanical garden and it was a sunny day, created it such a beautiful environment, that made the food taste even better. Nice and fresh menu.
I had salon salad, salmon was slightly overcook. My partner had pouched eggs with salmon in toasts.

I love this place and I go know and then... This time I ordered smoked salmon again and my partner a POP (picnic on a plate). Both of them where delicious, but must say that for $24 the portions in the POP where quite small.. not very filling...

when it's very sunny, no shades during lunch time; maybe good for afternoon tea after 2.30pm?

tropical plants superb!

One of my favorite cafes in Wellington. Delicious scones and muffins, several tasty counter food options, friendly staff, and located right in the rose garden adjoining the greenhouse. Baby and kid friendly, with high chairs, markers for coloring, and baby changing facilities in the restroom.

What a lovely spot on a rainy day. Stop for a coffee at this very pleasant and peaceful place.
Great staff and very quick service. Then have a stroll in the warm Begonia house and check out all the colourful plant life.

Had lunch here. Great staff who seem keen to seat doggies. They gave us a water bowl for our two puggies. Had lovely mushrooms on toast and a bottle of champagne.
Staff were great. Super friendly and had good banter. Staff are what make my experiences regardless of the food. Thanks guys!

Beautiful Cafe, set in a conservatory, decaff coffee was excellent just what I needed. Food is wonderful, a wide range of dishes freshly cooked, Staff are friendly and helpful. Very relaxing place set in the Botanic Gardens, as a local guide level 6, I can heartily recommend this establishment, try it soon.

Love it when I find a place on a public holiday that doesn't sting you with a 15% surcharge. Added to that, the food at Picnic is great and the staff are very accommodating. 👍🏼

Very nice scone and coffee after a walk through the gardens. Special mention of the young man on outside seating always helpful and cheerful. Polite to the older customers and quite funny at times - his name is Ants 👍😁

Amazing place to grab a bite to eat and coffee or drink. The food is out of this world. Staff are awesome. Their smoked salmon is unreal. Can't wait to come again.

Second time visiting this place, although this time round it was for brekky. Service was good and the staff are friendly. Happened to see good ol Jacinda Ardern and her family seated outside enjoying a coffee under the scorching sun. Pricing is slightly higher than most of other cafes in the city but the scenery and surroundings of the botanical garden is unmatchable!
