Reviews of Pour and Twist
G.
My favourite place in Wellington!
The owners are the nicest people and make so many interesting and unique drinks that are hard to find anywhere else in Welly. This is my go to place for matcha as they are one of the only places that use ceremonial grade matcha. Their taro coffee/chocolate drink is also phenomenonal. They now do a matcha strawberry which is my new favourite drink! It's the right balance of bitter matcha with sweet strawberry milk to mellow that out.
Just had a kimchi, avocado and fried shallot toastie today and I was so impressed by how good this was. Seems simple but it was delightfully delicious. Highly recommend if you're feeling snackish!
The atmosphete here is always so welcoming. Love introducing all my out of city friends to this place and they all fall in love with it. Thanks Z and E for the best drinks around!
D.
Good customer service and they make a really nice iced coffee.
Love the eclectic mix of stuff on the walls.
I appreciate how the interior of the cafe isn't hot in the summer time, they keep the door open during business hours to keep a good air flow.
Very relaxed vibes.
Recommended.

Pour and Twist is our favourite coffee shop in Wellington! Their coffee is amazing! Our personal favourites were their iced kopi and their great selection of pour overs! There was always something new to try and the toastie of the week is a great hit!
The owners Elaine and Zuyi are so friendly and have amazing knowledge of coffee! The decor and atmosphere in Pour and Twist is so chilled and relaxing!
Definitely a great coffee shop with amazing coffee! Go check it out!!
T.
I am ADDICTED to the drinks here, absolutely love the range they provide! 10/10 my cafe of choice in Wellington.
R.
Visited this Cafe multiple times during our stay in Wellington. My partner loves Matcha and insists that they have the best Matcha drinks she's had. Really well done with the speciality drinks we enjoyed and we will for sure be heading back here when we are in Wellington again 🙂
A.
Thanks for brewing great coffee during our first day visiting welly. I was live here an year before so this time just back to visit friends and find some good hand brew coffee as where we live down there in Nelson not much hand brew coffee. And also I sometimes brew my own coffee at home too. And these days been tried so many other stores and the best one which is from you guys coffee. I am sure I will be back next time. :) cheers
D.
I love here! Definitely recommend it. There is not much space to seat but Glover Park is located at front of the cafe. you can lay down there with nice coffee. Enjoy!!
D.
Truly a speciality coffee shop ! You won’t find any espressos here but you can find a lot of cool flavour combinations ! And if you’re a pour over lover, additionally single origin coffee, then this is the place to go !
N.
Awesome and unique coffee shop with a real passion for what they do. You won't find an espresso machine here either. Really worth a visit when you've got time to spare.
S.
Amazing coffee shop, one of the best of been to. A wide range of coffee choices, with some unique takes on coffee such as the orange chocolate that is filtered through an orange onto pieces of chocolate. Not a massive space for seating thigh, so best to go when quiet and also no toilet facilities - had to use the service station nearby. Overall a pleasant experience though, very knowledgeable and friendly staff
D.
Probably the best "craft" coffee shop in Wellington. The owners are extremely knowledgeable and always happy to chat about what they're serving. In terms of the coffee, there's a good selection of aeropress, V60 and chemex options, as well as some more interesting drinks. Definitely try this place if you're after more than a flat white.
A.
Unique coffee experience with a lot of different coffee concoctions available! The coffee tonic and sweet cheese toastie I had was superb!
J.
Awesome little coffee house. Well stocked selection of coffees and way to consume them for such a small space.
Staff are lovely and happy to assist. Great place early day as the sun pours into the open front.
E.
One of my favourite coffee joints, the atmosphere is the first thing you'll notice due to there being no loud coffee machines! Quiet, hand brewed art and good chats is what you will expect here and receive!
Also get your screen protectors put on by Zuyi, he is a master!!!
L.
Service is amazing here, and the window seat is the place to be for a sunny Wellington morning coffee. Lots of speciality coffee drinks you won't get anywhere else.
B.
Great coffee and real matcha in unique atmosphere. Will be back to try some of the other specialty drinks 😊
Y.
Always an excellent time to sit and down for a filter coffee. New Zealand's only manual pour over coffee bar (at the time of writing). Homegrown and passionate owners. Make sure you sit and enjoy the experience - not to be rushed.
K.
This Cafe is absolutely amazing! Best in WLG for sure. Keep up the good work man
T.
One of my favourite spots to visit for coffee whenever I'm in town, perfect coffee and matcha every time.
A.
Positive vibes, cosy nooks, excellent tasty freshly grounded coffee, great friends meetup setting, definitely the place to be in Wellington.
Thought you knew coffee? Not yet if you haven’t tasted Pour & Twist ‘s coffee!
s.
Best place to chill. Owners are super friendly and take time to tech you how to make your own brew too!
C.
Such great people, and their hot chocolate, and lemon&honey are really good. If anyone wants to know what Wellington is like, then I would take them here. The industrial/modern look with a bit of 90s and today pop culture icons, this place has the vibes of Wellington. I don't drink coffee, but I hear they make really good coffee. I also love the balance-a-coin-on-the-lemon game they have to the side.
C.
Such a rad coffee shop! All manual brews (no espresso machine). I highly recommend just sitting at the bar, getting a black coffee with one of their many bean options and hanging out! Owners are soooo cool and the coffee is quality.
K.
Incredible coffee and service! Such good vibes, intricate experimental coffee and a wonderful intimate, cozy experience. Will return often!
E.
Best coffee in town. I'm half Cuban, half Puertorican and can appreciate good coffee. This place is legit.
M.
Great coffee and great owners! Highly recommend the cascara
P.
Pour & Twist is a very different sort of a café. They do every process manually & it makes the coffee tastier. I had a wonderful, friendly chat with Zuyi & Elaine over a cup of ‘grey marble’. This coffee with activated charcoal was one of the best drinks I’ve ever had in my life. The café’s ambiance is very cozy & the owners are very friendly.
P.
Awesome friendly atmosphere, great coffee. Can get a little packed inside as it’s a small store and can get busy
D.
This was easily the best place in Wellington to get a pour over coffee. The owner is detail oriented and k ones every fact about the beans and the history of where they come from as well as the history of the brewing techniques.
N.
If you think you can stroll into this shop on a lazy Saturday morning and expect to get your order served within a few quick minutes rather than at least fifteen, my dude, you've got another thing coming. The coffee is fantastic though, so unless you're in a hurry, the wait is worth it.
R.
This is def the warmest place in Wellington. Not only the drinks are absolutely amazing but also the ambient and the owners. I would rate you a thousand stars if I could.
P.
You thought batch brews were cool, well slow down and stop in here for filter only coffee. No espresso. Just good times!
E.
A 5-star coffee experience. You learn about coffee and the pour over method. Owner is a great guy and good conversation. Such a cool vibe with music and a trendy fit out.
K.
I'm not a coffee afficiando, but I just know that I love coffee and I love coming here. Don't come if you're in a rush. Owner is extremely friendly and chatty, which makes coming here alone great as you don't have to just sit there and quietly lurk and leave. So important in the service industry in my opinion especially as so many people travel around NZ alone it's nice to have someone to talk to. Coffee here is amazing. They are truly passionate about what they do and they deliver.
A.
Hands down the best coffee shop in Wellington. Every time we stop by, it feels like we just came in to hang with old friends. The staff is amazing, very knowledgeable, and they make proper pour over coffee. They also have very nice speciality drinks and you can buy really really good coffee beans from them.
O.
The place is small and not made to linger much , but the main experience is coffee. I tried her, for the first time, an Aeroespress brew. The barista is very friendly and talkative, I enjoyed it. 4.5 stars foe the experience overall.
C.
The TV advert promoted our visit. Different coffees are offered made by hand. Premises are small and intimate. The couple are very friendly.
K.
Amazing drinks, food, staff, and atmosphere.
D.
On the morning of June the 22nd after a week and a bit of no sun. The sum was bright and pairing that with absolutely delicious drink from pour and twist. The morning became even better.
J.
I was introduced to this little slice of Coffee brewing heaven a year and a half ago, ever since then whenever I find someone that can appreciate great coffee but with a twist I don't hesitate to recommend Pour and Twist.
Keep up the great work team!
k.
I love the watermelon cucumber soda, so tasty. Cute aesthetic vibes but it's very small and not a great place to sit and relax. Makes you feel a bit claustrophobic.
K.
Lovely people make good coffee with selective beans and fresh pretzels
江.
I really like the atmosphere of the place.
Feel chill and owner talks to you like a friend. Relaxing is the overall feeling.
Great coffee.
K.
Please visit if you enjoy coffee.
I ordered the choffee (iced) which is like a layered dark chocolate mocha. I wasn't paying close attention but I think the "espresso" was made by aeropress. The barista is friendly.
Note that the shop itself is quite small but there are a few places to sit. I mention this for those who plan to sit and work/study for quite a while - it may not be ideal for that, but I loved the atmosphere.
s.
This place is amazing! I love coming here and they're so sweet and nice.
L.
My kind of place! Filtered coffee heaven. They also have some interesting looking concoctions I want to try. The menu is a bit complex but they’ll figure it out. Five stars baby.
J.
Loving the experimentation with coffee as a base for complex drinks beyond your standard Expresso+milk options.
M.
Amazing. I never liked filtered coffee much until I came here. Elaine taught me a whole new experience. Coffee here... I can only describe it like savoring vintages at an epic wine bar. I may have to move in.
J.
If you want something different and you want coffee that's carefully prepared with attention to detail, you'll love this place! A wide variety of flavours to try that would be difficult to find elsewhere. For the coffee connaisouer.
K.
The place in Wellington for filter coffee and other drinks. Tons of speciality coffee choices from a lot of different roasters to choose from. I rarely have the same coffee twice. No espresso, but similar white coffee; just tell them what you like and they'll sort you out. Beans and gear for sale too.
P.
Friendly folk who serve expert coffee. The menu has a great variety of unique drinks that are delicious. Try the teh tarik (hand pulled sweet tea) its great. They even have a partnership with a local film developing company which is awesome!
C.
Flat white was delicious and the matcha latte was amazing.
Staff is very friendly
J.
Obviously Wellington's best cafe. (hint: they don't do espresso)
C.
Absolutely amazing pour over coffee. The barista knew what he was doing and very carefully prepared us a couple different pourovers to share and compare. We frequented this place while in Wellington.
A.
Wow! This place is classic. Still rocking the cassette tapes and books.
The classic laid back feel leaves room fora casual encounter while you wait for the most devinely tasting manually brewed coffee from a siphon, aeropress, v60 or even the trusty plunger.
With an assortment of beans this place is a must for any coffee fan. But a compulsory visit for manual brewing officianados.
N.
THE place to be whether coffee lover or not. Great range and the naturals are good. One of the few if not only joints doing fully handcrafted coffee too! This is becoming a regular spot for me.
K.
Delicious coffee in crazy varieties. Reasonably priced for the quality. Indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely worth experiencing and breaking out of your usual coffee routine!
V.
Awesome menu!! Very creative flavours
L.
Really good pour over and the owner is so pretty and knowledgeable.
T.
Good coffee, but a bit too pricy.
J.

C.

Follow these guys on Instagram - had to visit when I was back visiting home. A Melbourne-style place in the Capital. Great coffee - good selection of roasters. Cosy spot!
K.

S.
Fantastic coffee made with care and love. Filter, plunger, aeropress. Friendly, relaxed place to chill for a while.
