Friendly service, good variety of food, outstanding coffee and chocolate beverages, and best of all open on New year's Eve! The only thing we struggled with was the absence of a Tobasco (first cafe we've been to that doesn't have some form of hot sauce) and the presentation of the eggs Benedict was in such a way that made it extremely difficult to cut into and eat with cutlery (the knife wouldn't go through the extra crispy bacon and soggy sourdough bread). Some additional thought may be required here to improve this from a technical perspective (perhaps just need sharper knifes?) but flavour wise we enjoyed our food very much.

Iced coffee was not even cold. If they're busy, you can expect this. Someone should clean the vent above your kitchen. Not looking good.

I had a small mishap with the brunch that I ordered and as soon as I informed the staff they were so incredibly apologetic and helpful. They sorted the mishap with no questions and continued to check in with me to see if everything was better. The staff at this cafe are so lovely, helpful and friendly. They even insisted I get something from the cabinet on the house due to the mishap with my food. I will definitely be back! The service was awesome and the banana cake was delicious!

As always the coffee was good with friendly customer service. It's a favourite place to have a coffee and a bite to chill and read😊

Hubby asked for an ice mocha got a warm mocha in a glass had to ask for ice cubes to make it colder. I asked for an vanilla latte with Almond milk 1st try was an almond latte which was pretty good I mentioned to the lovely waitress that it had no vanilla taste and she got it remade and by far definitely a vanilla latte 2nd time round. Young guy real Good coffee maker for sure ...just needed the flava shots a bit more flavoursome.

Best hot chocolate I have had in ages. The place was super clean, the atmosphere was nice and relaxed and the staff were very friendly. My partner and I both enjoyed our food, which was a decent serving size for the price. Also not too loud so we could actually have a conversation while we ate as well. Very pleasent experience all round.

Great coffee & a enticing range of food.

Unfortunately they got the coffee order wrong, and did not offer to replace it (though I didn't ask/push for a replacement with the correct order). Food is pretty good.

. (01/2018) A little cafe located on top floor of Whitcoulls. Easily accessible from inside the store. Well maintained and nicely operated. Good ambience and cozy atmosphere. Staff is friendly and cheerful. Fast service with a smile. Coffee at this place is awesome. Food is good too although not much choice for vegetarians and vegans. Great presentation. Table service. No outdoor seating is available. Nice place to take a break and enjoy some beverage with quick food. Good for quick bite, coffee or just dessert. Normally busy during lunch hours and in the evening. There is no dedicated parking area available although ample street parking can be found around the entrance. Good for groups and small celebrations. Enjoyed the experience.

Probably my favourite cafe in Wellington! Outstanding food especially great salads. Super fast and friendly service. Very reasonable prices. And even though it’s in the middle of Lambton Quay doesn’t have the same hussle and bustle that other CBD cafes have during weekday lunch time.

Go into Whitcoull's, up the escalator, and turn left - you'll find it in the corner. It's one of the bigger cafes on Lambton Quay, and who doesn't love being surrounded by books, stationery, and board games?! Food is great. Coffee is great - they serve Havana. It can get busy during peak times, and you sometimes get a distracting clash of music, with the cafe and the shop having separate playlists. We've been here quite a few times and have found it a good place to do some holiday planning over a coffee and scone.

good food in a pleasant location in a bookstore. Very average service with one distinctly grumpy server who ignored my request related to a dietary intolerance. Her tongue was constrained but her body language was not.

Great coffee, nice food, friendly and they even gave us a small piece of salted caramel brownie with our coffee! Very happy!

One of the better coffees I had recently, very nice. Service was a bit slow, but totally understandable as it was packed with happy customers

Nice place for a coffee and muffin

Comfortable and relaxed, not too loud and with a good menu. A good place to stop and relax while shopping. Friendly staff. Good and drink selection is okay. No charging points.
