Went there two mornings in a row for breakfast when visiting wellington. Was ideal. Great choices, good coffee. Excellent service. Prices very reasonable. Muesli with yoghurt and fruit the first breakfast, breakfast tacos the next. Both very yummy. Highly recommended.

Two of the Indian ladies who are waitresses here are very rude. They really need to understand what good customer service is, perhaps smile now and then! My fork was dirty. The food is pretty good though, really enjoyed the nachos but could have had a lot more topping.

Visited from INVERCARGILL. Went 3 mornings in a row for breakfast. Great food. Fast friendly service and their Lime/coconut slice was to die for. Wanted to bring some of that back. Will be back next time in Wellington for more of this.

Slightly outdated decor and interior, could do better to make it fit with the style of the place. Has an American style name, but has lots of Mexican style meals. Food is kinda overpriced for what you get, and breakfast meals could have a little more flavor. My coffee was lukewarm. Probably won't come back again.

I had breakfast here recently, the scrambled eggs on sour dough were fantastic. The breakfast burrito was fresh, hot and very tasty. Next time I'm in Wellington I'll be making a point to stop for another visit.

Come to Thunderbird for friendly service and nice coffees...unfortunately the food is a little lack luster with no real Mexican flavours in any of the breakfast Mexican dishes we ordered which was the tacos, burritos and huevos. Not sure if the ingredients were old or cheap... I expected better for the price, considering the meal sizes aren't that big. I came last year for lunch and got the nachos and thought the same thing.

The visawoap burger is amazing! Its massive too, can't recommend it enough. Totally worth the value and tastes amazing. These guys do a burrito called the big Bertha, its also insanely filling and delicious. Almost everything I've tried there is super delicious and filling. Don't go here for an authentic Mexican experience...it's more American fusion and the portion sizes are damn good. Service is pretty standard from a busy cbd cafe, very friendly and no complaints. Love this place.

A quirky haven in the city with great Mexican-style food. Has a keto menu (with tasty seed bread from the Little Keto Bakery in Whitby) and keto slices and treats. Also, serves Wellington brewed beer for the less carb conscious. Perfect place for lunch.

Awesome space and I really appreciate the fantastic keto options they have. The scramble with spicy chorizo is SO GOOD! Love the slices they stock from the little Keto Bakery, I hope they stock the doughnuts one day too. Heaps of seating and great coffee. What more could you want??

Located on Featherston St in Wellington CBD, Thunderbird Cafe provides a range of mexican based meals as well as a range of gourmet burgers, all at very reasonable prices. They also have a broad breakfast/brunch menu. Servings were well balanced and presented well. The cafe itself contained pleasant decor which was complimented by friendly service. Wait times were good too.

I'm tired of going out of my way to visit this place to find that they've shut off the coffee machine for the day or closed an hour or even two hours early. They have great food and coffee and are one of the few places in welly that cater to the Keto community but the people that run it / work there seem pretty checked out and don't give much of a hoot.

Friendly staff, good food, nice atmosphere. It's possible to book tables as well, and they have a separate keto menu for people who are following that diet, in fact they even have some keto slices and cakes in the cabinet if you just want to pop in and get something to go. Coffee is good too.

Coffee and food are pretty average; I've found much better coffee and pastry options elsewhere (although that's subjective, of course). Haven't tried their mains but I've had several different coffees and baked goods from their counter. Whoever makes the key lime pie at the moment needs to add a lot less less food coloring/sugar and a lot more lime. I feel like I ate a sugar block cut out from the incredible hulk.

I can't adequately express with words how happy this place makes me. The staff are kind and friendly and solicitous to the point of silliness. The atmosphere is excellent, the bands they schedule to play are awesome, and the food is great. Whenever I'm in Wellington, this is my new hangout. Thank you, Thunderbird. You make me feel loved.

Went there on a Sunday morning. The coffee was OK, the food tasty but lukewarm when it arrived. The noise level was very low, which owes the place the reasonably high rating, even though the music selection isn't much too my liking (not a fan of Johnny Cash, Dean Martin or yodelling cowboys).

Have never been here - food was pretty average . Main feedback is : - please get metal or reusable plastic straws for thick shakes . Fancy being cheeky and seeking a work table for 6 just before xmas. Lovely to be accomodated at such short notice. Upon arriving the cafe was already abuzz with people. Our waiting staff were promp,courteous and helpful. The food was lovely and very filling. Big thank you Thunderbird Cafe.

The first time I came here I really loved the place and loved the buffalo wings I ordered. So much so we came back. The second time the buffalo wings came out literally black 😮 they were nice enough to redo it for me but they came out black again. Really confusing and disappointing, but they were really friendly about it and even reduced the bill at the end. The vibe of the place, their teas and their friendly staff are what make this place good. Just, maybe don't order buffalo wings because they're a bit of a gamble! There's every chance this would be a higher rating if I'd ordered something else.

A very quaint and casual dining experience. I had The Burns for breakfast and it was quite good. It has an american diner feel to it and the prices are reasonable. The music will be the one nuance that really make this place stand out in your memory and it's from a nostalgic period no matter how old you are.

The burritos taste fantastic and are quite big. The gumbo is popular and supposed to be very good, however to me it tasted a bit bland and the portion size wasn't very generous. Gets pretty busy, so it pays to make a reservation.

The Thunderbird staff are so friendly, warm and hardworking I gave them a huge tip. small businesses like this really felt the earthquake economic crunch and continue to deliver. So people like Mark are sad people who probably drink soya lattes.
