What a find!! If you’re hungry don’t stop at Matakana, continue on to Matakana Valley road and enjoy the scenic road through to Whanga Eats!! Absolutely delicious food just like your mother used to make. My husband and I shared the best sausage roll ever - chock full of meaty goodness minus the fillers! Went back a few days later to share the bacon and egg pie ( as you are probably guessing- big portions!) which was equally delicious and I suspect made with local eggs from Matthew (lives further up the valley).Extras are the beautiful sunflowers you can pick yourself and purchase, and the fun Maize Maze (only $2 entry if eating at the cafe). Awesome friendly vibe and service. We need more places like this so support local!!

Excellent place to sit and enjoy wonderful food & coffees far from the rat race. Beautiful and peaceful. The staff are really lovely & the place is spotless. Definately plan on going back.

This place is a fantastic stop and go if you are around. Simple and delicious food. The place has a huge parking area. The surroundings are beautiful. The restaurant area is nice and clean. We also had some home made chocolate cake that was awesome. And we felt very welcome by the personnel despite it was almost closing time. I will definitely come back next time I travel in the area. It is always nice to find this kind of places where owners truly care about customer satisfaction.

We love this place for its welcoming, down to earth style. Its like getting a beautiful home cooked breakfast in a simple country setting. The cake of the day is always worth taking an extra slice for later!!

Great hospitality, excellent food and all for a great price! So glad I stopped in to discover this place.

Great location. Farmland outlook. Clean uncluttered premises. Friendly staff. No nonsense wholesome food. My Bacon and Egg Pie was delicious, served with a small salad and tomato relish. I m going back to sample more of their delicious food another day.

Lovely hidden gem with the best coffee we had so far in NZ. Stunning views over the hills and the owner is so awesome! Thank you for the directions, we will definitely come back next time we visit NZ. Greatings from Sweden!

It is nice to know that you can actually drive just over the hill from the madness of Matakana and find a really good cafe, with great coffee, friendly service and a nice selection of cooked and cabinet food. We opted for the eggs and bacon on sour dough toast and breakfast burrito, both were delicious. We shall be back.
