A.Absolutely love coming here, the ice cream is delicious, mixed berries is yum! We also loved having a game of bball, playing in the outdoor area and picking strawberries in the field, best part is the strawberry picking and they taste absolutely YUMMY! Highly recommend this place for a whānau filled outting or take your kids out for there birthdays.

L.We always go for the yummy ice-cream. Was a bit of a sideways head movement as all our ice-creams nearly felt off. That was disappointing as nearly everyone had wonky ice-creams. However, the strawberries are absolutely beautiful and jucy 🍓

C.Only a 4 star as the rain wiped out the orchard so berry picking is over for the year. Mini golf is fun, full 18 holes. Nothing flash but a good solid round with a few nice touches including a swinging post over a hole. The ice creams are amazing. $6.50 for a huge berry mix on a cone. Also has a small farm with a couple of calves and sheep

C.Definitely a must see place when you are around Whakatana! Family friendly as well. The food in the cafe is delicious. They have a playground if you have a little one. They also have a mini animal farm where you can pet the farm animals.
You can pick your own berries or just buy the berries if you are feeling lazy.
B.A few weeks ago we scored the primo strawberries, blue berries and a few other berry fruits that we have come to expect.
Large, juicy, and sweet. We returned after a week of rain with slightly different results.
Frozen are always a good option, and, better depending on the end use of the fruit selected.
F.Such an awesome venue, totally recommend this for an outing with the family for the play areas for the kids and the mini putt for the big kids, let alone the yummy fruits and delicious coffees and menu in the cafe. First time here today will definitely be back before closedown on 1st Feb.

G.10:10 Great Atmosphere. Lots of things for Kids, mini Farm, Basketball Court and mini golf. Good coffee, and wait time was good given it was very busy. Lots of food and drink options. Lots of berry products. Very busy place but huge dining areas so easy to choose seats in 4 different dining areas. Whole place spotlessly clean. Lots of staff and different product counters so efficient prompt service. Easy spend an hour here. Highly Recommended.
T.Amazing place for day out with family and friends. Nice restaurant, fresh fruit icecream, seasonal PYO fruits/berries... you can also buy them in the shop. Huge playground area with different activities - basketball, volleyball, mini golf...., plenty of place on the grass to chill out under the shade of a tree. Definitely will be back again...
N.A lovely experience at Julian’s Berry Farm. Great to see a company officially checking in guests and also providing contactless services for those who do not have vaccine passes. Both my elderly parents and I enjoyed dining in, and the complementary strawberries for an order mix up we’re enjoyed by all. Thank you Julian’s.
B.Absolutely fantastic place to stop, lovely berries to purchase or pick your own if you prefer. Cafe on site is great, really nice toasted sandwiches and iced coffee’s. lovely goods made with berries, ice cream and berry smoothies were nice. Plenty for the children to do in the playground, mini golf and mini farm with animals. The best part is the parking is huge, there is oversized parking for Motorhomes and caravans. A must visit when in Whakatane

R.It's a very beautiful place with a spacious seating outside the main building where you can order food, buy fruity ice creams, other beverages, wide selection of coffees, or buy freshly picked strawberries and raspberries or buy frozen ones. There is a very nice playground for kids and even includes a mini golf course as well.
S.What a great place to spend a weekend morning. Picking strawberries, loads of activities for the kids and even a little petting zoo. We had a delicious breakfast and after I asked the staff they explained the gluten free options, which were plenty. Can't wait to go back

What a wonderful family orientated place to take the family. My partner myself & my 2 daughters ordered a different flavoured berry icecream very delicious! They have alot of activities for the children & adults to enjoy very relaxed atmosphere + a lovely cafe. You can pick your own berries when in season. If you feel like a nice cool icecream & happen to be in the area give Julian's Berry Farm a go you won't be disappointed! We will definitely be back! 😎👍

Whilst staying at Awakeri Hot Springs we always pop into Julian's Berry Farm for one of their delicious berry ice creams! You get an all assortment of berry flavors to choose from as well as cones! They have a seasonal pick your own berries an animal petting zoo & playground for the little ones! Indoor & outdoor seating with shade on those hot Summer days. If your passing through to Whakatane stop in for a nice cold ice cream!
D.This place is amazing. The atmosphere is very nice with good views and overhanging grapevines for extra colour and shade. The staff are quite friendly and clear unneeded things from the table. The food is absolutely delicious and well worth its price. The real fruit ice cream is also very tasty. I highly recommend coming here and also trying the Eggs Benedict, which was by far the highlight of my day.

B.Delicious food, quickly served nice and hot! Ice creams are large portions and very tasty!! Many things to do and see for kids free of charge such as the small animal area, playground, big 4 in a row and they also have a volley net and basketball hoop or a mini putt for a small fee. Yummy sweet and fresh strawberries. Awesome staff lots of seating and parking!
j.Delicious berry icecream and strawberry and I scream desserts. Lots of craft jam and chutney, sweet corn, as well as wheat bags to buy on the way out.
R.The outdoor seating area looked nice and we were asked to scan In with our covid at the counter passes which was better than not at all. The berries were fresh but the price was no better than anywhere else and not as cheep as some. The worst problem was the plastic packaging. Whe I asked about a cardboard alternative I was told it would add 4 dollars to the price which was bull . However they did say I could return it and they would recycle it.
V.Great food, lovely people and a game of mini golf topped of with a big real fruit icecream what more could you ask for.

There is also a lot of space for actives like volleyball, basketball and playground.
After spending time in the sun there is a big area for eating lunch, having a coffee or enjoying a delicious berry ice cream!
N.Best farm in country. Ice creams are on. Spacious for kids and a quick match of hoops or volley. Smoothies need some improvement however - perhaps more thicker.
E.Beautiful place to visit with family. Pricey, but worth going every so often. Has fun outdoors play area, games, a lot of outdoor covered eating area. Can't forget the fresh fruit ice cream and very good food. Memory making place for families.

V.Happened by on a two day trip to Whakatane. Had a very enjoyable lunch and bought two punnets of 'seconds' which were fantastic! On mid morning return next day got more 'seconds' as morning pick not yet ready. A great asset to the area and excellent quality control. So different to super market strawberries!

N.Cool place to take the kids to. Nice food, nice ice cream, good vibes. A few activities for the kids to be entertained for a while so go with some extra time if you can. My boys loved that they could pet the farm animals, and I loved that was for free! Other than mini golf, the rest is free games for families to use, so you don't have to pay extra for much, only what you're eating or buying

K.Great place to take the kids and whānau. Heaps of play areas for the tamariki and mokopuna. While there's a good place to eat while you chill in open spaces with umbrellas. Tino pai. PS there's an awesome farm park for the city kids to meet lambs, calf's, rabbits, chicken and birds!!! Must got to for the kids

A.Essential summer road trip trip stop. Delicious fresh ice cream and food. They also have frozen yogurt for a healthier sweet treat choice.
H.Absolute gem. Gorgeously presented food, came quickly and best tomato relish I've ever had (pretty sure made from on site). Definitely worth a stop here for brunch/lunch.
V.This place is really great. I love the horticultural connection. Food is a bit pricey for what you get and there are only two toilets.

J.I've been fortunate enough to see this grow from a berry farm into an exception cafe experience. What I love is that they have embraced the growth and added the staff. The place can be absolutely packed and they cope magnificently. Add in what it really is, a berry farm, their fruit based meals (including ice cream) are divine. Oh and the coffee is great too.

P.We had a real fruit ice cream but we're expecting a waffle cone not an ordinary cone for the price of $6.50 so that's why 4 stars and the yogurt wasn't quite in the cone so a bit more training is needed to get it straight. Service was friendly.

Awesome outdoor area for family, there is mini putt, a sand pit you can play beach volleyball on and some farm animals for kids to look at. L.This is the first time we have stopped here. They were very busy , service was great . Food was beautiful. They seemed to have alot of staff on to cope with all those traveling. For those with young children this would be a great place to stop as it has alot areas for them to play.

T.This is a great place to take the family and have a break from travelling on the road. You can pick strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. There is plenty of things to do for the kids such as playing basketball, volleyball, mini golf and giant connect four. The food is good and the strawberry ice cream is amazing but the service is a little slow when busy as this place is popular. I will definitely stop here again and relax.
D.This is way more than a place for coffee. Mini golf, heaps of berries with ice cream too. Large location with excellent facilities. Make time to go out to Thornton Beach which is close by too

R.Spotted this place on our way into Whakatane, and promised everyone that we would stop in here on our way out the next morning. It was mid morning when we arrived to find that the place was absolutely packed with families eating, drinking, playing and picking fresh berries from the patches. This venue certainly has a lot of value added wares to sample and purchase, and it’s no surprise that they appear to be doing very well. It’s a large open space, with plenty of parking, spacious buildings, and tons of seating areas outside, plus lots of kid friendly things to do. The mostly young staff do a great job and are pleasant under busy pressure, and our real fruit ice creams were just as good as our high expectations. 5/5
P.Went as part of a work Xmas lunch on Friday. Very well organised friendly and efficient staff. Food was lovely - poached eggs were perfect, lovely sauce, lovely soft crispy bacon. Followed by a simple strawberry ice-cream in a cornet. Highly recommended! Well done team! Thank you 👍🙂

C.This is quite a large Cafe and all things Berry shop. I bought some blueberry Jam (lots of blueberries and very treaty). I had a blueberry ice cream ( they crush the berries and serve it similar to soft serve) it was great, would definitely try again. Staff were friendly and our orders were bought to our table. Nice setting to enjoy a ice cream on a hot day.
A.Julian's have the best, most delicious berries! Great spot to stop with the family. There's picking to be done, a playground, lots of tables and a wide and varied menu. The ice creams and smoothies are divine and so is their fresh fruit and veges.

T.Going to Julians berry farm is an experience that my family and I try to catch every year. The berry farm is open seasonally so whenever we are travelling through Whakatane and the shop is open we always stop. The berries themselves are just delicious. They are huge, juicy and sweet. They have the best ice creams too, all made with your choice of berry of course! The cafe has good food and wonderful coffee. If you get the chance take the littlies, they will love it!

S.What a great place to visit! Our ganddaughter loved it, as there were rabbits and chickens to look at before you even went in to the shop. Once inside, you realised it was more than just a place selling berries, there was lots of food on offer (we all had strawberry sundaes, delicious!) and a lovely covered and/or open area to sit down and relax, while listening to some awesome music being played by a man with a guitar in the background. There was a playground to keep our granddaughter busy while we relaxed.and finished our food and you could also pick your own strawberries to take home. Staff were lovely and bought your food out to you. Would definitely visit again!

B.Love the yoghurt and fruit and delicious sauce. Unfortunately I made a wrong decision in having a chicken salad.. Lots of leaves, some very salty chicken and baby tomatoes. On top a huge handful of crunchy noodles. A very ordinary meal for $19. From now on I'll pop in for the fruit and yoghurt only.
The place is very busy with lots to do for families. A more vigorous clean of tables wd help to stop the stickiness that builds up. Staff are delightful and v friendly. Usually a great place to eat at.
L.I know this place is a "thing" with locals, but besides a great selection of jams and a cafe. I didn't see the draw. The "pick your own berries" was limited to strawberries. The putt putt golf did not very good. The petting zoo was nice
