Meals were fast and tasty.Pizzas were great and had a lovely base. The staff were attentive and meal checked and also checked for drink reorders often. Lovely waitress also provided colouring packs for our children. We will be back.

Had their sticky ribs ans man was so good even the coleslaw and chips with it were good. Was so much food I couldn't finish it 😫 even my hubby couldn't finish it off for me haha so if you want a nice big meal def recommend!

Really tasty food guys! You have nailed your iced coffees. Few tips though, it would be great if you brought some bigger local mussels (whakatohia?) would be happy to pay more for local ingredients. The main thing that knocked you down a start was the amount of flies!!! There were swarms of them where we were sitting! Very gross and made for a not so great dining experience.

We had a lovely clean and modern room, comfortable bed, and great shower. We were close to restaurants and the seafront. The staff went out of their way to help us. Truly outstanding service.

No complaints about food or service but menus were disgusting - really dirty and stained - complained to both a staff member and Manager and were told by both that they were due to be replaced tomorrow but they were left on our table. But what really astounded us was that a customer brought his meal back (for what reason we have no idea) - this was eventually handed to the Manager who placed it on the end of the bar and we saw at least four staff members eating off this plate in full view of the customers. Commented to another staff member about this when paying and told they didn’t want to send it back to the kitchen! Wow - red traffic light setting! Not good enough Good George. Don’t believe in placing bad feedback without advising staff directly, but your responses were just not good enough.

Food was amazing, coffee devine and staff were superb! Said it would be a long wait which we expected as they were super busy.... But we hadn't even finished our coffees before our food had arrived!

1. It's bloody awesome to have a nice place in Whakatane to have a decent coffee and light eats in the late afternoon, when traditional cafes downtown are closed up for the day! Thank goodness for The Comm for those of us working from home etc who don't get out for a coffee break or a off-site meeting til the arvo - The Comms open and the menu is yum as no matter what mood yr in 2. Staff were amaaaaazing friendly, accommodating, looked like they enjoyed their jobs and kept a choice vibe going on like they cared about the place and took pride in it and making us happy. Was awesome. My late afternoon go to, with or without kids in tow.

Wow, everything from the busy buzzing atmosphere to staff to menu we were happy. A Peruvian style raw fish, Camembert with sweet walnut sauce and mango chutney, bowl of crispy fries.......great lunch

A beautifully presented bar and eatery, with outdoor serving options front and back. Good George craft beer and ciders available on tap, and to take away. A whole new class. Although can be a bit noisy inside due to modern design layout and decor.

Came here with 2 friends for dinner, the food came out really fast which was great. Our meals were tasty and my friends' portions were a good size but the portion of my meal (hoisin pork belly) was honestly disappointing for the price I paid, if I hadn't ordered fries I would've left hungry. Sad selection of cocktails as well, was hoping for something nice but was let down. Nice atmosphere and great staff but probably wouldn't come back.

My name is Trish Burke and on behalf of the C&T Ladies group we wish to express, what a wonderful visit we had to The Comm for lunch last Monday. The food selection was great. The waiting time was spot on. The coffee and bar staff very happy to deliver. As there were 20 of us we expected a little delay in all services but there was hardly any delay at all. The meals were delightful as were the cider choices. A really great experience. Thank you "The Comm". we will be back.

Went to the comm today for the first time since opening and I LOVED Everything about the comm. Customer service is awesome! Great atmosphere. Place looks amazing 😍😍 food was amazing and extremely fulling and well presented. Drinks were delicious. I love how they have heaps of Good George products on display for customers to buy as well!!!!

Love what they have done to this place. Definitely a sympathetic upgrade. Food all good... Service and staff awesome. Suggest if you have hearing difficulties then this might not be the place for you as even at lunchtime I found the background noise was almost too much. Makes conversation a wee bit hard, not been there when they have a band.

What a great venue. I've been for coffee catch ups, dinner tapas and breakfast with my whole family and all occasions were excellent. For the kids they have great value meals and kids packs to keep them busy, and great parent bathroom facilities. Highly recommended!

We chose the comm this evening to meet with colleges while visiting from wellington. Owning a tattoo studio the reception from establishment's can be hit and miss, but we were made more than welcome. The beers and coffee were great, the food was exceptional and high quality. We had arancini, sticky pork bites, chicken wings, mussels, bao buns, and couldn't fault a single item, you pay for what you get. You should absolutely be proud for what you've created in whakatane, an absolute asset for the town.
