N.Only stayed 1 night but was fine for that. Clean, tidy, comfortable room but had spa bath. I prefer a shower cause too hard to climb in and out of bath. Has a cafe with nice coffee. Good location to catch trips to Whale Island.

A.Nice clean place, walking distance to restaurants and the main shopping area. The check-in staff weren't the friendliest, but that's ok. The cafe attached to the place does great coffee, even has oat milk which my wife prefers.

B.Good hotel. Micro village is nice. Bit noisy with marae next door though playing bass music, but fortunately they turned it off during the night. Fast internet too, and good designated parking exclusively for your room. I noticed this building would suit someone on a wheel chair, since everything is designed around having space and room to move around a lot if your chair bound.
B.VG. Clean comfortable adequately supplied. Excellent general lighting but light over single bed for reading would have been appreciated. Grip rail in shower would have helped. 2 comfortable arm chairs was nice. Close to Wharf facilities and parking.
M.This is my 3rd stay at the White Island and I love it here. The staff are amazing, really friendly and helpful. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. One of my co-workers became ill and had to he hospitalized. The staff helped in every way the could, thank you

M.Like a lot of NZ Motels it's a little bit dated, however it was clean and spacious with friendly helpful staff. It's in a great location overlooking the estuary with the town and a good choice of bars and eateries on your doorstep.
A.We loved our stay in the recommended front villa, perfect location, size, great sleep, bathroom.... everything about it PLUS the best breakfast included from the in house fabulous cafe! Can’t see anything wrong with any of it! Also, staff are lovely & helpful
A.Very good. We had a deluxe apartment for 4 people and it was excellent. Spacious, well equipped, clean and the most comfortable bed ever! There is also free access to laundry facilities (washing machine and tumble dryer. The staff were always on hand and very helpful. Staying at the motel also gives you mates rates on the White Island tour, New Zealand's most active volcano, which is a must see.
We really enjoyed our stay thank you.

B.Two nights. Lovely modern clean rooms. Highly recommend the micro village units. Super helpful staff nice on site cafe. We had stayed elsewhere for a night and looked at others. None came close to the value you get here. Short walk to main town center with eateries and bars. Lots of parking. Secure and quiet.

C.This was a very clean well presented motel. The staff were welcoming and helpful. No cooking facilities available was the only slight drawback but there was a spa bath and 50 chanel's on sky on offer. I would recommend it to anyone staying overnight or for a short stay.
B.Very friendly staff. Has a beautiful cafe on premesis with delicious pancakes. Nicely set out room (micro villa) with a shower big enough for two! Contains a mini fridge, includes laundry facilities (shared) and portable clothes lines (for those of us who want to dry clothes naturally). Would stay again!
V.We stayed in one of the chalets in the microvillage. It was lovely. Very modern, and had everything we needed including a really comfy bed. It's right next door to a tourist attraction and white island tours depart from the wharf across the way. There was no noise whilst we stayed and we had a thoroughly great time

S.Comfortable stay in central Whakatane location
My husband and I stayed in a standard double suite for 1 night. It was really spacious with plenty of space for a double bed, table and chairs and kitchenette. The kitchenette was really well equipped, the bed was comfortable and the WiFi worked well. The motel is in a really fantastic location - just a 5 minute stroll to the shops, bars and restaurants.
D.I personally like it and stay here regularly. Good quiet location, clean reasonable rooms with no smell, big variety of rooms, nice friendly staff. Just one annoying thing - very bad WiFi, this is why three stars and not five, in my opinion. Not for a business traveller if you need WiFi in the room. It is almost non existent, especially when full. So you will have to use your mobile data if you need internet. Perfect for getaway though... :-)
M.Very nice room. Well kept and clean. Plenty of natural light and privacy. Right near shops, bars and restaurants, as well as the water. The staff were very nice. Had breakfast in the cafe here which was lovely.

P.Great place to stay for couples or families! If you want to go to White Island or Motouhora Island, stay here because they can arrange it all for you since they also run both trips. We stayed 4 nights in the Back Villa and couldn't be happier with our stay! Great location right by the wharf and within walking distance to many restaurants in Whakatane. White Island and Motouhora Island both better than we could have hoped!
T.The walls are a bit thin, so not as quiet if have noisy neighbours. But the service is great and the raw energy/salad bowl with hot salmon is a perfect choice if you want sg light.

There are no negatives here. Spacious,minimal noise,the hot water works,tv didn't have the movie channel on though. Car park not a problem and free. A few minutes walk to all the restaurants. Prices are fair. Friendly staff with a cafe attached to it. Wifi connection strong and free. The meeting point for White Island tours. The best accomodation we stayed at in NZ this trip around

Wir hatten einen der neuen Bungalows, kleine Küche, tolles Bad und riesige Nasszelle, obendrein eine schöne kleine Aussenterrasse.
Kurzer Fussweg zum Fluss und zum Meerarm,sehr ruhig gelegen,kann man prima Schlafen.

We had a "micro-village cabin" and were really impressed.
There was no sign of "Micro" here. The room was relatively large, the bathroom was very spacious with plenty of storage space and a large, walk-in shower.
We liked the XXL bed best.
The kitchenette was well equipped and practically equipped (with an extendable table for 2 people).
As I said, we were very surprised. The whole thing was in top condition and very clean.
The property is a 5 to 10 minute walk from the center ("The Strand"). So you can also explore the city on foot.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Actually everything was perfect. We would have liked to have stayed a little longer.

Wir waren im November 2018 für eine Nacht hier.
Wir hatten eine "Micro-Village Cabin" und waren echt begeistert.
Von "Micro" war hier nichts zu merken. Das Zimmer war relativ groß, das Bad sehr geräumig mit viel Ablagemöglichkeiten und großer, ebenerdiger Dusche.
Am besten hat uns das XXL-Bett gefallen.
Die Küchenzeile war gut ausgestattet und praktisch ausgerüstet (mit Ausziehtisch für 2 Personen).
Wie gesagt, wir waren sehr überrascht. Das Ganze war auch in einem top Zustand und sehr sauber.
Die Unterkunft liegt etwas 5 bis 10 Gehminuten vom Zentrum ("The Strand") entfernt. Man kann also die Stadt auch gut zu Fuß erkunden.
Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Eigentlich war alles perfekt. Wir hätten uns gewünscht etwas länger bleiben zu können .
