After NOT being served at The Boatshed and us walking out, we decided to go to Mud Ducks Cafe and what a wonderful surprise 😊 Lovely greetings from the staff and instantly looked after. Food was amazing !!!!! My Partner had the Super Breakfast and looked and tasted exceptional. I had the Green Thai Curry with Prawns and it too was PERFECT. We will definitely be back !! Thank you x

December 2021: what a breakfast. Everything was fresh and flavoursome. So was the coffee. It was enough to last through to a mid afternoon snack.

They really know how to do coffee. The roast is good and the barista work is also high quality. I wish the bakery case was a little stronger in flavour, but the overall vibe of this shop is good. Highly recommend. Also, awesome light fixtures. A great detail that is artfully crafted and catches the eye.

Excellent coffee! I asked for extra hot and I got extra hot. Thank you for not arguing with me about the "correct" coffee temperature. The food was good, too. We both loved the toasted sandwich. It was made with bread that tasted like a kind of home made brioche - utterly delicious! Although we shared one between the two of us, the caramel walnut slice was almost too much for us. So dare I say it - it could have been smaller :-) I also thought the cinnamon in the streusel overpowered the subtle taste of walnuts, but I was alone with that opinion, so don't take any notice... All in all very enjoyable!

Food was good and even though they got one of our orders wrong, they remedied it quickly without fuss. The coffee was quite nice. They forgot part of our order and never brought it out but they did give us a refund so that was good. I’d eat the food again but the service was obviously strained on a busy day.

Great cafe with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Amazing location right by the Up Side Down river. I have had Mighty Breakfast here for lunch and it was really tasty and generously sized meal. Staff were also great.

Great staff, very friendly and accommodating. The location and cafe has a fantastic outlook. Found the menu a little underwhelming for such a cool place. Cabinet food look great and appetizing. Pie, filling was yummy, pastry was soft due to reheating. Reason for a 3 is when we walked in, the duck looked like it would deliver a great lunch. But left a bit deflated. I would come back as the staff are awesome. But would love to see a bit more local influence from the menu.

Staff were efficient at ordering time. Coffee bit average and the food Really disappointing especially as it was a classic - eggs bene. One egg was hard, the other barely runny, the sauce tasteless (like a shop bought one) and a few tiny bits of wilted spinach on dry half sized muffin halves. Our plates weren't collected though staff walked past quite a few times while we were talking delivering food but went back empty handed. Great spot for a cafe maybe the cabinet food is better.

Nice cafe in the Visitors info centre. Standard fare for an upscale Cafe. Such a gorgeous town now. Really impressed with the tree lined main Street and the colonial buildings still standing. It has plenty to offer. Recommend this Cafe.

Perfect central location for visiting the information center and Saturday markets before or after walking along the Wanganui river. Coffee served is ok and has a decent range of meals however service is slow and expect a wait when ordering. Currently connected the the Sargent gallery upstairs too for another great place to visit.

Nice caf at info centre, maybe best coffee but you'll have to try other cafe, there's one in old chronicle building near by also. next to river so count on beuty, art, Info cente service centre in buetiful building, you might see rowers, there is also boat rides and great or goodie tram museum if your sort of thing naa it's cool. People stop on way through so popular with travllers and locals alike busy but spaced. Good range of food, I dunno it's a nice spot and u can even tinkle, lads brewery is across river next to historical red lion tavern
