V. L.Great stop on the way to/from Cape Reinga lighthouse. The pies were delicious (tried the mince and cheese, paua and butter chicken) - definitely can taste the difference compared to the pies sold by chain cafes in Auckland. The ice cream is great too.

P. S.Loved it! Great pies, sandwiches and ice cream for very reasonable price. Lots of seating available. They also sell local produce: avocados, cucumbers, courgette, honey, eggplants as well. Keep up the entrepreneurship!
J. W.The real fruit ice creams are awesome and great on a summers day however the Paua Pie is a do not miss out item. If it's after 4pm and you are at the Honey Bee takeaways next door, if the door is open they will sell you a frozen one, but get one hot from them, the pastry is stunning and the paua filling is decadent. They also do a steak and oyster pie which I am gutted I didn't try.

First time trying abalone and while I don’t think I’m a fan, the pie had the best crust I’ve tasted in NZ. Will definitely be back to try other pies. Sandwich and ice creams were good. We liked the banana best.

I had the paua pie and was extremely impressed, great tasting filling with a good ratio of sauce:paua.
The staff were also fantastic, had a good laugh with them about our indecision and kept on telling other to go in front. It was constantly busy for the 40mins we were there.

H. S.We stopped because a sign said 'paua pies'. My husband and I thought we would share one but after eating our way though our halves my husband bought a steak and oyster pie. I wanted another whole paua pie to myself so had another. Maybe our best pies ever, an experience we are glad we didn't miss. After that we each had a fruit ice-cream and without kidding it was about 10 inches high. Also awesome.
Only downside was the soy coffee, it was so bitter I couldn't drink it

Many bakeries claim to have the best pies, but the guys here which source everything locally , are definitely way better. They also sell seasonal fruits and veggies, free range eggs and amazing loca honey. Also you can get the purest Kanuka oil. This is the type of places I love to visit: honest, amazing good food , beautiful vibe.
