Great stop on the way to/from Cape Reinga lighthouse. The pies were delicious (tried the mince and cheese, paua and butter chicken) - definitely can taste the difference compared to the pies sold by chain cafes in Auckland. The ice cream is great too.

Bought real strawberry ice-cream which tasted yummy. The staff was super friendly and the service was great. There was a covered outside seating area which was convenient as it was a hot day.

I have eaten my fair share of pies in my life. This place without a shadow of a doubt makes the best pastry I've ever tasted in a pie. The pastry was incredibly crispy, flakey and buttery. The paua and gravy were exactly the right temperature; not to hot, not too cold. The flavour was outstanding and my life is richer for having tasted this work of art. An absolute must visit for anyone in the North

Paua pie is not too bad, nice to have the cuts abit bigger so can taste the paua rather than tiny bits but overall the pies are very nice with the right amount of fillings and very nice pastry.

Loved it! Great pies, sandwiches and ice cream for very reasonable price. Lots of seating available. They also sell local produce: avocados, cucumbers, courgette, honey, eggplants as well. Keep up the entrepreneurship!

The real fruit ice creams are awesome and great on a summers day however the Paua Pie is a do not miss out item. If it's after 4pm and you are at the Honey Bee takeaways next door, if the door is open they will sell you a frozen one, but get one hot from them, the pastry is stunning and the paua filling is decadent. They also do a steak and oyster pie which I am gutted I didn't try.

Best place to stop for food on the whole of the cape! Tried the paua pie, silverside slab sandwich and real fruit ice creams. First time trying abalone and while I don’t think I’m a fan, the pie had the best crust I’ve tasted in NZ. Will definitely be back to try other pies. Sandwich and ice creams were good. We liked the banana best.

By far the best pastry on a pie I have had in my life. By my flakey and somewhat thin preference of course! I had the paua pie and was extremely impressed, great tasting filling with a good ratio of sauce:paua. The staff were also fantastic, had a good laugh with them about our indecision and kept on telling other to go in front. It was constantly busy for the 40mins we were there.

Try their Steak & Cheese Pies!! We forgot to take a photo of them and only remembered once we'd eaten it all but they're sooo good! The beef is super fresh and the pastry is yummy!! 💯 Our kids loved their chocolate cake and wanted more so we'll be sure to stop here again on our next roadtrip 🤙🏽 Friendly service!

Really good pies and we came back for some really good fish and chips for dinner! Our long blacks were slightly burnt, but otherwise a really cool little spot!

We stopped because a sign said 'paua pies'. My husband and I thought we would share one but after eating our way though our halves my husband bought a steak and oyster pie. I wanted another whole paua pie to myself so had another. Maybe our best pies ever, an experience we are glad we didn't miss. After that we each had a fruit ice-cream and without kidding it was about 10 inches high. Also awesome. Only downside was the soy coffee, it was so bitter I couldn't drink it

The mixed Berry ice cream (So good). Go there. If you need a coffee fix they will hook you up. They told us about a good local beach spot and they weren't wrong.

The pies are so good & the coffee is pretty good too. It is in a great location and on a stormy day when on a bike, it is a welcomed respite from the elements. The people who run it are really nice and friendly.

An all over good place to have a nice stop with a lovely and cheerful lady that makes it even better. Real fruit ice cream yummy and the best pies I’ve had ever in NZ . Many bakeries claim to have the best pies, but the guys here which source everything locally , are definitely way better. They also sell seasonal fruits and veggies, free range eggs and amazing loca honey. Also you can get the purest Kanuka oil. This is the type of places I love to visit: honest, amazing good food , beautiful vibe.
