While looking to upgrade my 2011 Lenovo 'Think Pad' I visited PB Tech's new Petone store. I was ably helped by PB Tech's Hou Teo. Hou provided me three great laptop options and how PB Tech could clone software from my old Lenovo to a new release product from Lenovo or Asus. I will be back to purchase a new Lenovo Yogi 7 with a 1TB drive.

Thanks to the salesperson who listened to what i wanted, discussed price range and use, explained options clearly, and sold me a laptop without trying to get me to over-spend on unnecessary functions. Very pleased with service right from the security guard greeting at the door to the cashier who took payment. Top marks!

Fantastic from start to finish. Parking at door, brilliant knowledgeable staff, super friendly and helpful - purchased a tablet on backorder, expecting to receive it a week later... got a text the very next day that it was ready for collection in store! Such good service. Would give 10 stars if I could.

I went to PB Tech Petone during the Boxing Day Sale hoping to upgrade my PC graphics card. It was insanely busy but the staff still managed to treat me as if I was the only customer in the store. The advice that they gave me was great and then they installed the card for me despite the masses of people around. A special shout out to Daniel. I buy a lot of tech equipment. This was my best ever tech retail experience.

Absolutely exceptional service. Came in with an unusual error on my PC, and one of the customer services reps managed to diagnose the problem and find me a suitable replacement part. They even fitted the new part and tested it to see if it works. 10/10 customer service.

Hoped for long to have another store in Wellington with easier access for those outside of the city. 👍 Thanks PB 😍

Bought a bunch of PC parts for a custom PC from this branch and thought the customer service was great! The operator I had was very patient, helpful and transparent with his information which I appreciate a lot. He was also very professional in the way he carried himself and his opinions and I just can’t recommend him enough so thank you Yong! The reason I have left 4 stars instead of 5 is because one of my cpu cooling fans was not spinning when I had turned my PC on for the first time, so I restarted it a few times to see if that would get it working but it did not. I do not know if this is normal or not as I am new to the PC scene so I tried ringing into PB tech Petone to see if I can get some help because they are the ones who built the PC, but could not get through to anyone as the phone line would ring a few times then just cut off leaving me having to ring again. I rang in more than 15 times without getting to talk to anyone so am not sure if they’ve actually got someone to handle their phone lines or not. Other than this issue, will definitely be using PB Tech again in the future and can highly recommend it.

Petone branch seems to have good stock and nice staff. Prices can be higher than elsewhere but all its competitors are in Auckland. Good for when you need it now.

My interaction with the service team has been excellent. Shout-out to Kevin, chan and dyson. Really lithe guard on duty as well. Have done two upgrades her and am happy

The covid awkwardness of this shop is beyond stupid. They've fenced off the whole store and it's like the night pay at the petrol station. The store in town is alot nicer, you can walk around and look at goods

I went there to buy a cable for an ipad. These guys are taking Coivd seriously, and there was a sizable individual outside the door not unlike a bouncer. He was approachable but did inform us of changed shopping conditions. The shop had moved to online but, they did have a person whom you tell what you're looking for and he'll get it. This way the time people spend inside is minimised and so is the risk of catching 'IT'. Great idea but such a pity that browsing (and impulse purchases) has been eliminated. All staff members were busy but those that I did deal with were knowledgable and helpful.

Stewie Liu and crew are absolute lifesavers. My 3 monitors died on me when I had a report with a short deadline. I called PBTech Petone and asked if his good soul would wait for me to buy a 49'inch monitor, even though I'd arrive at the shop 15min after closing hours. He was very friendly and understanding, told me to be safe and he would have everything sorted so I'd only have to pay. As soon as I get there, it took a few minutes and he saved my job and did the good deed of the day. Thank you Stewie, you are the man. And thanks to the crew for patiently waiting with him. I will be forever grateful. You guys rock!!!

If you are looking to build a gaming pc and don’t know where to start, get in touch with Daniel Qin. He was extremely helpful and very patient with all my questions. Not only did he help me with selecting all the parts as per my budget, he also built my gaming pc for me. I am very happy with the end result and very pleased with the service.

I visited Petone Branch on a busy sales day weekend. I had a complicated issue I needed to resolve related to my online order (3k gaming PC). I was not sure how my request would be received. Fortunately, the sales rep I approached was excellent. He was very straightforward and efficient. He understood the problem without needing much explanation. Even though he was not native English speaker (possibly mainland Chinese) he was far easier to communicate with than most sales rep I have to deal with. He took the initiative (rare these days) and fixed the problem. Regrettably, I didn't catch his name. All the staff were excellent. It felt like a very well oiled machine. I was in and out, got what I wanted, bought what I needed, in a fraction of the time. Highly recommend this store and its staff.

Great experience shopping there! The store is much bigger and more easier to navigate than the Wellington store. Staff have been friendly and helpful the times I have been there. The only real complaint is that I wish there was more parking near the store. But that being said the Briscoes/Rebel Sport parking lot is quite close and walking distance away from the store.

I went into PB tech a few months ago with almost 0 knowledge of what i needed, all i knew was, i had to get my son a gaming PC for his birthday. I was welcomed by Daniel. After a lengthly discussion i realised i needed to go home and do more research. Daniel provided me with a few options for me to investigate. After a few weeks and many text messages back and forth, Daniel helped us select a great gaming set up = monitor, PC, keyboard/mouse etc. We have had it running for a week now and everything is amazing. Thank you PB Tech Petone. Thank you Daniel. Daniel went above and beyond to ensure we had a great first experience. Sometimes he would respond to my text messages out of work hours and was always attentive and helpful. That kind of commitment and dedication is rare these days. Keep up the great work. PB Tech Petone will be my new local :) Merry Christmas.

The best place in New Zealand to get computer parts. And they often do great deals on cell phones as well.

Great service. PB Tech have always been my preferred retailer for all things electronics or computer related. However, they did not have stock of the phone I wanted even though it was on display.

Love the branch, very spacious but can get very busy so could use more staff. Place is bright and easy to find things unlike the cbd store. Staff are also knowledgeable during my last visit and also helped me order my gaming monitor from an Auckland store since they were oos. Very happy with my purchase as it came in 2 days.

Great place for all your tech needs (or wants), store is spacious and well stocked. Although there were very limited amount of pre built PCs on display. Staffs were very intuitive and helpful, props to them.

Brough in a PC to be repaired on a sunday. The turned out to be dead but pbtech were able to diagnose the problem and replace the parts within 24 hours. Exceptionally fast and great service.

Always impressed with the amount of products PB tech has. The customer service is always very good too and this store is nice and new! I like how the staff are not invasive either. A simple ask if you need help after you’ve walked in then leave you to it .

Easier access to parking space. No need to travel to Wellington site if you live in Lower Hutt. A lot more convenient to travel to this site and several other types of shops are close by.

So now you have PB Tech in Lower Hutt, more specifically in Petone, located at the junction of Te Puni Road and the Petone Esplanade. If it is your first visit you may be excused for not finding the entrance easily especially if you were parked along the Esplanade, because when their car parks (10) are full, the cars do block the view of the Entrance, and the signage is also blocked from view by the eaves. Parking is limited but more than their Wellington branch which is non-existent! There are only 10 car parks right at the front of the entrance; try parking along Te Puni Road or the Esplanade and you should be okay for non-bulky items. It's convenient to have this PBT branch in the Hutt as there are hardly any similar alternatives in the region and that's before we even start discussing service and pricing. Their Wellington branch has performed well on both counts although not 100%. We shall see how this new kid round the block performs ... so far it is a bright and shiny new store. We wish it every success. Stay tuned.
