P.I bought a Camper off Steve early January this year. Throughout the whole process he was just a really friendly guy. In my opinion he went above and beyond with his commitment to making sure I was happy with the purchas and that I got what I needed. He said himself he wasn't after a sale, he was after a customer that will come back and made sure of that with sourcing some stuff that was specific to what I needed at no charge after I had already orchard the vehicle. Warranties provided on the items that were in the camper also. He also shared a lot of valuable information that made my first purchase of a Camper van much less worrisome.
j.I can truly recommend this place. Steve and his son are really friendly, competent and they do their jobs very reliable. If you got any questions or problems, you can give Steve a call and he help you out instantly. You always got a feeling to be in good hands.
At first it seems that you pay here a little bit more than other services or private car owners, but if you listen to other travellers buying really cheap cars (without knowledge about the inner workings of the car and without any expertise supports) you know you did a good choice. And if you can´t find someone you could sell the car to at he end of your trip, Steve makes a really good deal with you buying your car back.
So if you are near Auckland looking for a reliable campervan, Chilli Rentals is worth a visit.

You may pay a little bit more than on the free market, but! the car is ckecked by professionals (we had a new battery and tires), transformed into a campervan, comes with some campingequipment and most important the guys care for you. Our radiator broke down somewhere in South Island- we gave them a call and had a new one 3 days later shipped from Auckland- which saved us aprox. 300 bugs to what the lokal mechanic wanted to charge us. You feel very welcome and when they say you can call me anytime they realy mean it (while for most other buisness is done after purchase)!
M.We ordered a Camper van on kiwiquest and bought it from Steve. He is very nice and if we had questions we could ask him at every time. Best decision to bought the car from Chilli Rentals.
M.We have just returned from a fantastic 9week trip to New Zealand. we contacted Steve in november 2 months before we flew out from the UK, and arranged a camper,nothing is a problem for Steve which allowed us to fell very relaxed about our trip! Steve picked us up from the airport, showed us the vans available,we made our choice we were dropped off at our hotel.The next day we were collected to start our adventure, the van was great ,our own little home for 9 weeks ,we were sad to say goodbye to "hamy"

S.Steve and his son are really friendly and totally know their Business. If you got any questions evenif you bought the car a while ago, you can text oder call him everytime and he will help you.
At First glance it seems that the cars are more expensive than others but you can be sure that his cars a in a really good mechanical condition. And that's worth the price.
And if you are trying to sell your car but got problems findig a buyer ( especially in low-season), Steve will give you a pretty good Price!! That makes your life a lot easier und stressless...
M.Chilli Rentals staff were very friendly and a pleasure to deal with. When my friend needed a vehicle to backpack around NewZealand they found a few vehicles for sale privately that were overpriced and very rough. One call to chilli rentals and they set them up with a vehicle with accommodation and all the essentials for camping at a very fair price. Chilli Rentals always go the extra mile for their customers, nothing is too hard for them to do for you. I would truly reccomend dealing with chilli rentals for your next vehicle.

G.Lewis is a pretty friendly and helpful guy. I bought a roof top tent from him in a very good price and he did several phone calls to find me a roof rack as well without asking. He was really flexible too, I'm absolutely satisfied.
R.Cant reccommend Chilli highly enough, Lewis and Steve were great to deal with and prepared our van perfectly with all the things we needed for our trip. They are freindly and professional and the vans are great - fully decked out with all the gear you need to be self contained. Will definately use Chilli Rentals again.
