This renovation project started off as a "new carpet, new paint" quick renovation of a 1 bedroom apartment but evolved over several discussions with David (Refresh Queenstown) into something more complete. While it was slightly complicated by the fact my brother (the owner) was in Hong Kong, I was in Auckland and David was in Queenstown. After meeting David by 3 way video conference, he was fantastic in getting to grips with exactly what was required and organising the different parts in play. During the renovation, David kept us fully informed both by email and through the BuilderTrend webpage. We had a couple of issues that crept up during the renovation, and David was eager to provide us with solutions which was most helpful. He was also helpful in helping resolve additional items that we didn't realise we needed, such as new curtains and a new blind in the bedroom. We are very happy with how the apartment has turned out and would have no hesitation in recommending David with your renovation project in the Queenstown region.

I am a professional Interior Designer PDINZ, and am ever thankful that I was introduced to Jim Gleeson of Refresh Renovations Auckland Central. He respects the creative role I play, and I, in turn, am highly respectful of how he makes my designs become a reality. Often this involves his astute problem solving skills, which combined with his strong 'can do' attitude, work ethic, and communication skills between myself, and his superb administration and trade staff, my customers are always delighted with the renovation process, and the finished result. Refresh Manwatu constructed a carport beside our house. The team was great at consulting us on our requirements, providing advice and sourcing the particular clear roofing which we liked. They provided written plans and cost estimates to help us reach a decision. The work was completed to an excellent standard and I would highly recommend them to others.

Fantastic team at the Manawatu branch of refresh. From the office through to tradesmen and the project manager, all very professional and hard working. The quality of the workmanship cannot be faulted. Attached is the before (blue garage) and after (red garage) after refresh completely fixed fascias, roof, replaced and modernised kitchen window. Also internal works completed and further work is planned for next year.

We had been considering renovating our home for a number of years but had always been reticent to start given the inevitable complexities of the process and the potential pitfalls of project managing something so significant ourselves. Our decision to engage Saleem and his team was the best choice we could have made. From the first design meeting - through planning, costings, consenting and then the actual build process - the communications, level of engagement and renovations were exemplary. Saleem and the team always had pragmatic and high-quality solutions to any complexities that arose and dealt with our ‘bright ideas’ with aplomb. The completed renovation was everything we could have hoped for with the final costings and timings also consistent with the estimates provided once the design was finalised. We haven’t hesitated to recommend Saleem wherever we can and will definitely use them again if and when we decide to undertake another renovation.

We recently used Saleem and his team for a total renovation of our 2 bdrm unit. We found the entire process exceeded our expectations and the project was well managed and completed on time - it was a tight timeline of 3mths to have it move in ready. The workmanship of all the trades involved was of a high standard. At all stages thru the process there was clear communication, a common sense approach, regular meetings and with the customer portal that you get access to, we could always see the total costs, change requests, approvals and the timeline. We would definitely use Saleem and his team again for future projects as he really made the entire process stress free for us and delivered an amazing result.

We engaged Saleem to renovate our bathroom and put in a deck with seating and stairs. Right from the start we found Saleem easy to deal with, clear and prompt communication and giving us genuine guiding advice throughout the initial design stages. The quality of the work was fantastic, we are absolutely delighted with the work and our new bathroom and deck. It was delivered to timeframe expectations and we were kept informed throughout the project. Everything was visible through the project management tool as well. I've had two renovations done by Refresh. Both by Saleem in Auckland. One renovation was for my home and one for my business. Both went really well. They were within the expected time frame and budget. Saleem managed everything really closely and was very good at maintaining regular communication. I also like the app they use so you can see what's happening. Saleem managed any issues we had really quickly and there was minimal stress. Very happy with the quality of both jobs.

We had a small bathroom completely remodelled. Right from the beginning, communication was excellent. Wayne Gordon (the Director and Project Manager) and Brian Taylor (the Construction Manager) of Refresh Renovations in the Manawatu listened to what we wanted and made useful and helpful suggestions. They went the extra mile to make sure we could achieve what we wanted, accommodate our changes of mind, but still keep the costs reasonable. We are THRILLED with the outcome. We were without a bathroom while this was being done but they provided us with a very nice bathroom trailer near the house which made things a lot easier for us. They have a good team of tradespeople who all did a very good job. We had absolute trust in them all. We wouldn't hesitate to call on their services again.

Wayne Gordon and his team from Refresh Manawatu did a kitchen renovation for me in 2017. They were extremely professional throughout the process and went out of their way to help and provide expert advise. They made the process very easy and came in on budget. Wayne and Brain have awesome communication skills and ensure that the customer is well informed throughout the renovation. We have used Refresh Manawatu for two projects now. The reason we went back the second time was because we knew that we would get looked after, no hassles. Just as we found with our first project, more recently Wayne's team sorted out any little issues and tidy ups at the end. They went above what we expected and tidied up some bits of work that had been done to a lower standard by other people outside of the contract. End result was the house looks fantastic. They deal with all the little issues so we didn't have to stress too much dealing with all the tradies. Had our kitchen and dining room done by Refresh in 2013 and are very happy with the result. Was great to have Refresh looking after all the project management, council consent process, inspections, architect etc. Wayne Gordon was our local franchise owner and he kept on top of everything well and attended to any issues with a minimum of fuss. A few issues with workmanship by subcontractors, when raised by us Wayne was on to it quickly to make sure the work was completed to an acceptable standard - certainly felt he was there to get us the best job. Having a fixed price was good because we knew any issues would get sorted by Refresh rather than price continuing to escalate each time a subcontractor had an extra visit to the site.

The Refresh Manawatu team are very professional likable people. They renovated my kitchen and bathroom. Every detail from planning at the start to the final finishing touches was discussed along the way. I am proud to show off the work the team did for me at any chance I get. Saleem Bhikoo and his team at Refresh Renovations did a bathroom and laundry renovation for me which I am very happy with. The entire process was very well planned and organized. From the initial consultation with the builder, Saleem ensured that all tradespersons (builder, electrician, plumbers) were on site on the morning of the scheduled start date. All of his team were professional, clean, tidy and respectful and kept me updated on their work. Saleem was happy to accommodate additional requests beyond the scope of the initial project and his team were happy to oblige with advice and recommendations. Saleem’s communication skills are exemplary and he kept me informed at all stages regarding progress, delivery of items, scheduled appointments and unforeseen delays. He is highly knowledgeable and ensures work is done according to health and safety and compliance regulations as well as to his own high standards of quality and service delivery. The renovation was completed within an acceptable time frame and at the estimated budget and he was happy for his team to return after the completion of the work to make minor adjustments as required. I would highly recommend Saleem and his team for any renovation project and I would not hesitate to use his service again in the future.

I find Wayne and team from Refresh Manawatu great for my properly maintenance. As a remote landlord I appreciate their attention to detail, and ability to organize and complete complex jobs with contractor management, tenant liaison, and even council engagement as necessary. We have never done any renovating before so we contacted Wayne at the Manawatu branch of Refresh Renovations, We met with Wayne and talked through what we wanted to do and he listened and offered thoughts of his own which really helped a lot. Anna and Wayne from Refresh Manawatu did a fantastic job of our kitchen and lounge renovation. Their friendly advise, not just as builders, but as parents of young children have completely transformed our house into a happy home. The little touches have made a huge difference, from the cavity slider in the hall, to the step down lighting, and the soft touch cabinet closures, everything exceeded expectations. Brian, as project manager has so much experience nothing phased him, every hitch was calmly and efficiently taken care of. Much appreciated was the attention to small add on jobs, such as replacing the piece of roofing iron that had rusted and was leaking (which we had no idea about prior, and saved a decent insurance claim!), as well as the addition of extra power points for later on when the kids will need it at the breakfast bar to charge their laptops. Even with the changes we made, they still managed to stick to their schedule, and also encouraged us to save money by doing time consuming jobs by ourselves like the building permits, and are grateful for the advise when we wanted to wallpaper the hallway ourselves... yes we did consider a divorce, and yes we stuck with it, got it and it IS well worth it! Thanks to all the team at Refresh Manawatu, Builders, plumbers, electricians, plumbers, carpet layer, painters, cabinetry supplier, bench top manufacturer, and glazier. We have enjoyed our relationship with Refresh and recommend it to anyone thinking about doing renovations, no matter how big or small. Once we met Jim Gleeson, we knew we were in good hands, he always explained things in detail and was open and honest, he took in all our concerns and budget and was ready to make any adjustments necessary to ensure we were happy with the end result. The quality of the work is very high and we couldn't be happier with our 'new home'. Time frame wasn't too off from what was planned and we were prepared for that as we know that renovations bring in lots of surprises, specially when you are working on a 1920's home. We wouldn't hesitate to reccomend Cameron Ironside from Refresh Renovations Tauranga. From the moment we contacted them the communication was excellent. We were renovating our bathroom over the busy Xmas and New Year period and wanted to have it done ASAP as we had family arriving from overseas. Cameron and his team were very professional and treated our home with respect while we were not there. The project was completed on time to a high standard. A week after it was finished we noticed a very minor detail with a hand rail. We emailed Cameron to let him know and he was out with in 2 days to fix it. Couldn't be happier. Every renovation project has it's unexpected turns and ours was no different, but Cameron and his team always had options and solutions at hand to make the process go as smoothly as possible. If we decide to do some more renovations in the future we will be using Refresh Renovations without a doubt.

Can not recommend Refresh Manawatu highly enough! We had our kitchen, lounge and dining area, along with the home office stripped, reconfigured, and made to work for our Family. From the outset, Wayne Gordon listened to us, worked WITH us, and had such an amazing calming influence throughout, for what was a bit of a hectic reno! All of the contractors who came in to our home were first class, professional and hardworking, and Wayne was always on hand to oversee the smooth running.  Jim Gleeson: Edmund Testimonial I have waited 17 years to complete the renovations on my home, over these years I must have employed some of most unreliable and marginally honest trades’ people that Auckland has to offer. This time I was determined that the work would be done properly and by folk I could trust. From the outset Jim impressed me; straight-forward, honest, imaginative and thorough. After a few initial conversations Jim returned with advice and quotes. In addition, he was able to present ideas that I had not considered. The plan was exactly what I wanted and I felt comfortable to leave the country for a month safe in the knowledge that Jim and his team were dealing with the work. Whenever there was a decision to make Jim ensured that it was within my budget and communicated with me I really valued the contacts and relationship that Jim and the Refresh team were able to bring to the job. Choosing kitchen units, bathroom units, tiles and the multitude of other products associated with the renovation was a very easy process. Not having to deal with sub-trades is worth its weight in gold, I could focus on my day job and not feel that I was having to do two jobs at the same time. While the roof was being replaced Jim realized that one part of the house was not insulated – a small gift from a prior tradesman. In a gesture of really generosity Jim did this at no charge. There were many other instances of Jim’s thoughtfulness and kindness. I would recommend Refresh Renovations and Jim Gleeson in the highest terms possible. When I was undertaking a renovation in my apartment I decided to employ a renovation company, as the thought of independently sourcing and coordinating the number of different trades involved was a little daunting. I engaged Saleem Bhikoo from Refresh Renovations, as his company had done an amazing job renovating the kitchen and 2 bathrooms at my daughter"s place.I am very pleased that I made that decision. Saleem listened very well to everything I wanted and was able to take the project organisation and delivery off my hands. Throughout the renovation he communicated well with me and everything went according to plan. The project delivered all that I was hoping for. The timeline was strictly adhered to , which kept disruption to a minimum. The work from all tradesmen was of a high standard and they did a great job of cleaning up throughout the process. Saleem was an excellent manager throughout and I would certainly recommend him and Refresh Renovations

Alan Gemmill was a fantastic project manager - he was very easy to talk to and was realistic. He wasn't afraid to tell you if something won't look great, is out of your budget or if there are better alternatives. He's very practical and vets tradespeople he uses very well. He followed my high standards and we were almost always on the same level. We have used him on two projects and will definitely keep his number for future use! Can't recommend him enough.

Would highly recommend Saleem from Refresh Renovations. Our project to redo our Bathrooms, Kitchen and Dining would have been so much harder without Saleem to organise trades and keep us on track. With 2 young kids and busy jobs we would never have achieved this ourselves.

For a number of reasons we owned two houses, one in Wellington and one in Levin, but age and health changes determined that we had to decide where we were going to live. We chose Levin but we had inherited the house some fourteen years earlier, and nothing had been done to it Our major dealings have been with Wayne, so I should start with my impressions of him. He is ex-army, and the one thing that impresses, not just with us, but also with the tradesmen he employs, is his organisation. He organises when each one will be required, and manages this as the contract goes on so that their visits to the work site are as productive as possible, and not done on a crisis basis. His documentation is exemplary, and he keeps in regular contact as the project proceeds, He was often at the site, and we got regular emails bringing us up to date. He is very pleasant to work with, and there was nothing he was not prepared to help with. How the project proceeded. First Wayne came and we went through the house outlining the changes we wanted to make. All of the time (and ever after) he took copious notes. After that he brought in the tradesmen he works with to look at their part of the project. It was clear that they all enjoyed working with Wayne, and they were invariably pleasant, attentive and well skilled. There followed a detailed specification, (after which we scaled down our desires - no surprises there), and further specifications followed, sometimes accompanied by a further visit from the tradesmen involved, until we arrived at a specification we were happy with, and an agreed price. Then followed to formal contract, and even with this he showed flexibility to ensure that both parties were comfortable with the contract. Thereafter, that was the agreed price. Any changes we made (and this is inevitable) after that were treated as variations, and priced and agreed before continuation. The documentation was terrific. There were changes, and occasionally delays, but all of the time we were fully informed. At times we made our own purchases, but often Wayne had contacts that ensured that even then we got the best price we could. All through this time Wayne was keeping us informed, sometimes by email, sometimes by text and sometimes by phone. Whenever we visited the site, there was always a tradesman wanting to talk to us to ensure that they were doing exactly what we wanted. There was only one genuinely bad day. As part of the process we had put our Wellington house on the market. We sold by tender and got a price we couldn’t refuse, but we had to be out of the house in a fortnight, a week before Christmas, whereas we thought we would be transferring in about mid January. At the stage we signed the Purchase and Sale Agreement our Levin house was completely uninhabitable. In Levin everyone worked as hard as possible to get things finished, but when the fateful day came we arrived in Levin with things still in a mess. Some of the whiteware was still unwrapped in the garage. As I gazed on this disaster, Wayne came in the driveway he said, “Don’t worry, you will be in the house and able to lock up before I go home tonight”. And we were! Wayne brought a vacuum cleaner with him and started on the ghastly process of cleaning up the dust from the building work and rendering of the walls, and anything else he could do to help. Nothing was too menial. It was a while afterwards before we could live in the property, but we were able to stay with a relative for a week, and Wayne kept the pressure on to ensure that the essential work was finished, at least to the stage that the house was habitable. Given this was the week before Christmas, no mean achievement. In short, we would not hesitate to have Wayne manage another renovation in the future, and we cannot recommend the Refresh Renovations Palmerston North franchise highly enough. If the other franchises meet Wayne Gordon’s standard, you too will be well pleased. Bill and Marie Hinkley

I got Kim and her team in to do a complete make over of my study and I can't fault them. I've been called a 'control freak' yet I was more than happy to go away and leave Kim and her team to get on with it. They didn't disappoint and I'm thrilled with final result, would totally recommend them. They are very professional and totally trustworthy.

For novices like us, Refresh brought experience to the table and were easy to deal with. Where any issues cropped up, Refresh were quick to provide a solution and act upon it. We found Refresh really fantastic to deal with. Refresh would put our minds at ease and often put up with us phoning even when they were home with family! I can only imagine how difficult our renovations would have been if we didn't have Refresh at the helm.

Dave went the extra distance on my small but tricky ensuite build. The tradesmen he contracted did an excellent job and Dave was there to ensure it all went to plan and to problem solve all those little problems that occur when you open up an old house, but he ensured I was in agreement with every step. I would certainly recommend him and Refresh and would have no hesitation to use him again. Thank you to all the team.

The Refresh project manager listened to what I wanted to achieve in renovating a kitchen and bathroom. John came up with ideas that we had not thought of. Nothing was a problem, even some minor changes during the project. The renovations were done to a high standard and on time.

We are absolutely pleased with the our decks (upstairs and downstairs) by Refresh Renovations. Jim gave us lots of advice and plenty of options, always had what we wanted and our budget in the forefront. The builders were informative and easy to talk to, punctual, careful and committed to getting the project done quickly for our convenience. One of the builders even took the time to listen to my 5 year old's excitement and design ideas for the upstairs deck. Another successful renovation by Refresh Manawatu. Inside of the fireplace pulled out and new gas heater installed. Terrible 60's stonework surround removed and replaced with smooth plaster finish. What a difference. And I still got to retain the original mantelpiece and bookcase surrounding the fireplace At the same time the 3 metre front window was replaced in situ, with minimum disruption. Great admiration for the joiner, who reconstructed the original.
