Decision on the spot to have a tooth removal. For some one that has a huge phobia of dentists, Richard Allwright was fantastic. Even though it was a tough job … apparently. .. it took 3.5 hrs, I could not fault the care and attention to my well-being as well as the actual procedure. I live 3 hours away and Richard even squeezed me in to check up on it 3 days later before I went home. Highly recommend Access Dental.

I have to say, this is my 3rd great dental experience with Access Dental and I am still impressed. Nobody wants an extraction, but this is definitely the place to go. I am happy with my visit to Access Dental. I went to them to get a specific troublesome tooth fixed and I requested they fix it without having to do a full checkout and searching for unknown issues at that time, they were happy to comply with my request and didn't pressure me to get more work done. The tooth repair went well, it was painless and seems to have resolved the issue. The staff were friendly. I didn't shop around for price but the price seemed fair and I'm guessing is a mid-range price. I will definitely go there again for regular or acute dental work 🙂

2022 Update: Ive been seeing access dental for years now. Every time i need something looked at, they make the process easy from quotes to booking and your income doesnt determine the quality of care you recieve. The lovely Paula has been my hygienist for years and I wouldn’t consider changing to anyone else. However, I’ve recently changed my dentist after having questions about the integrity of my last dentist and joined Access Dental for all my dental work and II could not be more impressed. Lyndsay is the most gentle dentist I’ve been to, really thorough, gave great advise and has done the best job of providing me with a new smile by way of veneers on my front teeth. Highly recommend popping into see Hygienist Paula - This was by far the best thing I have ever done for my teeth/mouth - I see my dentist annually and after all these years thought this was enough but honestly you will be shocked how amazing the results are, money very well spent. Paula was professional, informative and her positive light manner ensures you relax while you are there (yes Paula did sing while working LOL). I understand now the Hygienist visits are about prevention and maintenance - the annual Dentist visits are about x-rays and the ambulance. Contact her today - you wont regret it!

Paula was my hygienist and it was my first visit after six months of arriving in Nelson abd being. Nervous patient I finally decided to try Access Dental, after lots of recommendations - it was a very different experience to the usual cleaning session! She listened to me and was very caring and professional, I have such sensitive teeth so I really didn’t want the electric sonic cleaning that seems common practice these days, so I asked for the cleaning to be done manually. which she was happy to do and she did an amazing job! Highly recommend. Having pain in my gum for nearly a week, less than 24hrs after seeing Paula, who did an amazing job cleaning my teeth and gums, my pain has halved and the swelling has gone. Though I have always looked after my teeth, Paula has educated me about the importance of gum hygiene too.
