Dr Rob Smith has to be one of the best dentists in Wellington, if not in NZ! Extremely knowledgeable, calm, sincere, ethical and genuine with his advise. Also does amazing work with supporting charities which is so commendable! Highly recommended and unlikely you will ever go wrong with Rob!

I saw Rob for two composite veneers. I loved my experience there. Prices were very good and Rob was very accommodating to what I wanted my end product to look like. I get anxiety with needles and Rob was very good at administering this without any pain. Highly recommend seeing Rob!

I have used dentists for many years but I can unreservedly say that Wellington Dentists is the best I have dealth with. Rob Smith has now been my dentist for over a decade and has always explained in detail what's required and is a pleasure to deal with. Their pricing with other dentists is highly competitive and the standard of work is exemplary. I would have no hesitation in recommending them. Really can't go wrong coming here! Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Had some cosmetic work done and had been looking into it for ages- have even been to a few dentists but never quite the right fit or comfortable enough to take it right through. Rob however is on another level amazing. Master at his craft! Makes you feel at ease with the process, professional but kind and knows what he's doing. Also punctual to every appointment! Feel like that's worth a mention. Made things really effortless if you are squeezing appointments in-between work. Easily one of the best in N.Z at what he does! The results also have made me feel like I've been unshackled from my horrendous, ugly, embarrassing teeth. Was able to get an appointment very quickly and love that they are open on Saturdays and after 5pm during the weekend. Very handy when you work an 8 - 5 job. Since I needed more work, they were able to contact me when cancellations came through so I could get it done and dusted instead of waiting weeks.

Great experience with Wellington Dentist. I had previously been to another dentists who quoted me for some work I apparently needed done. On visiting Ruth she explained the amount of work I needed was a lot less than a previously dentist had quoted, and pricing was very reasonable. I will be signing up permanently with WD. All of the reception staff are lovely and very helpful too!

Ruth Lambeth is just gold! <3 I usually am anxious with dental appointments and she was able to put me to ease. She interacts well and involves you all throughout the procedure. One dread I have with dental procedures is not knowing what is going to happen next but she set my expectations before, during and after. She was very pleasant and I am definitely coming back. The receptionists are also gems with shuffling appointments to accomodate people. That ain’t easy. Recommend the service!

Had a great appointment with Claire who was standing in temporarily. I needed a white filling, it was relatively painless and hardly any discomfort. I hadn’t been to the dentist in almost 5 years so I was pretty nervous but she put me at ease. Came back to have a sensitive filling looked at by Ruth. Amazing dentists. I hadn't been to the dentist for at least 6 years before I finally found the courage and tried Wellington Dentists. So glad I did. Came in because I had a toothache and Jeff made me feel so relaxed and at ease (I have anxiety). There's also a TV on the roof, which definitely helped distract me. Found out I had a decayed and broken tooth, but it was a wisdom tooth so could be easily removed, phew. When I went in for my wisdom tooth removal, I was feeling the anxiety hard as I hate needles near my face. But Ruth talked me through what she'd be doing and the process was much easier than I'd thought. She made sure I didn't feel any pain and went at my pace, stopping when I needed a minute. Only took 30 mins! It even ended up being cheaper than quoted. Highly recommend! And now I feel so much better, as my tooth had been a pain for a while.

My cleaning today wasn't great. It was painful than normal, hygienist hand was heavy and not gentle, it bled a lot, I know it's suppose to bleed. I cried a bit and moaned during the process. Even when moving the suction around my mouth was hurting my gums. Utterly ungentle. This was not my first time having this done so I know how it normally feels. I don't think I'll be back 😕

Didn't feel pressured into booking additional work, and felt they were honest (you know sometimes at dentists it seems like the additional work is an up-sell...). Visited Rob Smith at Wellington Dental on 2nd December to discuss a solution for a gap caused by broken tooth in front top of mouth. I'd previously received very unsatisfactory treatment from my regular dentist. Rob not only provided the solution but did it immediately with a composite crown which was bonded onto another tooth and looked as good as a normal tooth. I was impressed with everything, the quick turnaround, the can do and friendly attitude of Rob, who provided a cost effective solution when other options were looking long winded and very expensive.

EDIT: Thuesday 14th May 2020 I visited Wellington dentists for my appointment. The receptionists are super friendly and amazing at their job! I then had a tooth extraction with Ruth, the fastest, least painful tooth extraction I have ever had! And then I got veneers done by Rob while I watched movies! 😁 I was also quite cold and was offered a blanket! Talk about great service with a smile. My whole experience was unbelievably cruisy. I've visited 5 dentists in my life and this place is by far the best. I could barely sleep last night because I was so happy and kept telling friends and family how fun it was to go to the dentist 🤣 I never thought I would be saying that. Thank you so much for taking care of what I neglected for so many years, I look and feel young again. OLD REVIEW PIECE: I had the pleasure of finding this clinic through facebook ads. I was extremely excited when I clicked through and saw all their videos and photos on their website explaining and showing what they do. Due to lockdown I waited for level 3 to come back and had some more tooth pain and tooth chip away so emailed to get an appointment and was booked in for the next day 🤩 the staff are all amazing, non judgemental, extremely helpful. Pointed other issues I know are going to cause pain in a few weeks, and told me the best dentist in their clinic that can help with that too. I highly highly recommend this place and cant wait to get in to get some new veneers 😁 Thank you!

Rob is professional, honest and informative. I travelled 7 hours to see him and I'm glad I did. If you want quality, care and the the best of the best, he is certainly worth the travel! Incredible service! I was in desperate need of a new retainer (dog ate the old one) and I just casually dropped by for advice. The wonderful team squeezed me in that day, took impressions and guaranteed that the retainer would be ready the following day before I left Wellington in the afternoon. The best dentist I have been to. They have always been very helpful. I had a very random situation where an old root canal hadn't been done properly at another dentist. As a result a part of the root grew back and got infected. I went to four other dentists before coming here. None found that was the problem. I was in excruciating pain when I happened to book in here. What sweet relief. I was being treated like it was in my head by other dentists. Here they were professional and kind as well as thorough. I can highly recommend them.

I was impressed with the website, the building, amazing old pictures on the walls and superbly clean and slick operation. Because the ‘making’ of any business is the people, it is no surprise that you have a great practice. The people are so friendly, helpful, clear with instructions, and caring. Nearing age 60, I have been to quite a few dentists and would suggest this experience was either the best ever, or very close to it. Everyone worked so smoothly together, and even under a good environment for pressure, still managed beautiful smiles, even Rob. As a result I have been recommending this practice to anyone looking for a ‘great dental practice’. For those not looking for a ‘great’ practice I can confidently tell them they will be impressed by the level of care above their expectations. As well, I love your system for contacting patients. Very friendly dentists and receptionists providing thorough teeth examinations. Student discount available. You can book easily online in their websites. The place is also very clean and tidy, despite being in the middle of the busiest road. Definitely recommend to anyone who want to get dental checkups, discuss other problems, etc. My dentist explained things very well and there was no pressure doing things. They open on Saturdays from 8am as well so if you are busy on weekdays you can make an appointment for Saturdays. Overall very good service and skilled people.

Appointments are available though an online booking system, no need to speak to another human so that alone makes it 5 stars. I also made a same day appointment and scheduled a wisdom tooth extraction for the very next day so all in all I would definitely recommend these guys.

I thank the day I saw the Wellington Dentist's website. Having had major dental issues all my life as a result of an accident when I was young and other compounding problems, my teeth were a mess. We are talking about crooked, missing and infected teeth. This even after being a diligent patient of a local dentist for twenty five years. To sort out my problems, I had been to dentists who gave me massive quotes, and briefly considered Asia, but no one I spoke to seemed to grasp the idea of what I wanted to achieve. They spoke when I wanted them to listen. So I made an appointment with Rob Smith, based on the narrative and pictures published on the website. He listened to me, gave me an outline of my options, and sent me a treatment plan and price quote for my consideration, which I gratefully accepted. I could not believe the outcome that Rob and his team have achieved. My family and friends are also stunned at the difference in my appearance. I now have lovely straight teeth and can laugh and smile in public. I can look in the mirror without cringing. It is life-changing. I also could not believe how simple it was for me during the whole process. I had absolutely no pain or discomfort, the work was done so professionally and in modern, comfortable surroundings. The team at Wellington Dentists made me feel welcome and were friendly and helpful, fitting in with my appointment requests as I do not live in Wellington. The cost of the treatment was much less than half of the other quotes I had received, yet the outcome was so much better. My other quotes did not include straightening my teeth, merely "filling the gaps". I cannot adequately describe how much difference my experience with Rob and the team has changed my well being and have no hesitation in recommending them for your dental problems, whatever they may be.

I cannot speak highly enough of Rob at Wellington Dental. After the collapse of an old bridge for a front tooth that snapped the supporting teeth I was told by four other dentists that due to the condition of my other teeth the only solution was removal of my existing teeth and fitting with false teeth. A specialist dental surgeon suggested leaving my bottom teeth that he acknowledged as worn down, removing my top teeth then doing 4 implants to attach a set of false upper dentures leaving the bottom teeth as is at a cost of $22000 (not a misprint). Rob fixed both my top and bottom teeth for a third of the dental surgeon's quote for just top false teeth. Further more he completed the whole procedure over two consecutive appointments so I walked out on the afternoon of the second day with missing teeth replaced and worn and damaged teeth repaired. What particularly impressed me was that Rob listened to me and delivered more than I requested doing what four other dentists including a specialist dental surgeon told me was impossible. My strong advice is if your dentist tells you what you want can't be done see Rob before you accept their word and their quote.
