The best dental place in Whangarei.. Been here to done some check up for my teeth, and Dr Michael is the best!! He explain everything clearly and done the check smoothly. I actually was a bit scare to go to the new dentist as I'm new in this town. But Dr. Michael was so nice that make me feel better. And about the price, really affordable for such a good service. Clean and tidy place, friendly staff.. Definitely recommended!!

I had the best experience here!!! Felt welcomed, comfortable an even entertaining with the laughs the conversations. I felt super lucky to be in there atmosphere an have made them my #1 go too dentist!!. They even squeezed me in!!. Definitely affordable, they check your whole mouth an overlook everything then ask you what you'll like done. Just amazing service and hard work overall, for all of you. I'm super happy with my teeth thank you so much. Highly recommend!!

Dr Joy is an amazing dentist. I was a patient in his Downey office in California. I was very sad when he moved to New Zealand because I knew I would never find a such a qualified dentist as him.

I can highly recommend this practice. Very friendly staff, made me feel at ease. Explained everything they were doing. Future recommended treatments were discussed but not pushed onto me.

I have been blown away with the care and work that i havd hsd done st Kowhai Dental. The staff is so very accommodating and lovely to deal with as nothing us a problem for them. Top marks which i rarely give are well deserved by these guys. Cheers Debbie

After a few people I know referred me to Kowhai Dental yesterday I had to visit them a little sooner than expected for a wisdom extraction. I suffer from terrible anxiety when it comes to the dentist and I just about walked out while I was waiting in the chair. Michael was my dentist and when he saw the state I was in he was calm and reassuring and got me to settle down, meanwhile the dental assistant who was sitting next to me wiped the tears and also reassured me that everything was ok. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I was going to 'shop around' to see who was the cheapest to get a care plan to fix my teeth, however after this experience I am not going to bother as care-factor and compassion wins on the day! Also the lady at the reception was also great with me chopping and changing dates and times for future appointments. Thanks team!

Kowhai Dental are great, very customer focused and kind people. Teuila is an excellent OHT - I enjoyed my recent visit because she took care to make me feel comfortable and give me useful advice for home care and future visits. Visiting the dentist becomes something you want to do, not just a 'have to do', with people like Teuila. Keep up the good work team :)

The service is outstanding. We have been to 3 other dentists in Whangarei, and this cleaning was MUCH more thurough. Larisa was my hygienist and she was amazing! I'd highly recommend this place.

I am from the USA currently visiting NZ on our sailboat in the Bay of Islands. Before I left the states in Feb of this year, I was told by my dentist in Dallas that I would need gum surgery to correct numerous deep pockets. I was fortunate to find Wendy at Kowhai Dental - she performed deep cleaning and then 3 months later a perioscopy treatment. All my gums are now normal without surgery! Best dental service I have ever received!

A dental clinic like no other. A positive environment with advanced, high tech equipment at affordable and competitive prices, much cheaper than Auckland! First class treatment from the time you enter until you leave, we are never going anywhere else. Thanks Kowhai Team!

I had the best teeth cleaning ever. Staff was professional and the hygienist was superb doing her job. They took photos l prior and after the cleaning and the results were superlative. Definitely worth spending 80 dollars, the cheapest in town I think.

Cindy was amazing. She took time to go through all options even made me a mock tooth to see what I would look like, she made sure I was pain free, and did an awesome job! We went over time but Cindy had so much patience. That night I couldn’t stop looking in the mirror. So soooo reasonably priced. Definitely go back. Thank you!

First time visit to Kowhai Dental yesterday. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such advanced equipment, fantastic advice, and treatment. On top of that, way more affordable than Auckland! I highly recommend Kowhai Dental. Thanks Adam. You and your assistants were awesome!

Thank you so much for the wonderful experience! Trips to the dentist can bring up nervousness and anxiety but I’m very pleased to say that my trips to Kowhai dental are actually enjoyable. All the staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and very professional. What a neat, slick experience!

Been going to this dentist for 20 years. Wanted to book in for a clean and check and they cant fit me in for four months. Guess I will have to go elsewhere.

I am partial to Kowhai Dental as I have other received dental care around the world and none has been as top notch as these guys. The receptionists are friendly and welcoming and the dentists and hygienists are consummate professionals that strive to update their education and advance their skills beyond what is currently being offered in mainstream dentistry. Their patients are their priority and I’ve experienced this first hand when they’ve come in on their day off, opening the clinic to help me with a dental emergency. I fly all the way from Canada to get work done here, because I know I’m not just another number to them...they truly care about my dental health and that says it all! I’m looking forward to seeing their new clinic and want to thank all the staff who treat me so well when I come in! Keep up the excellent work!

Very friendly when I was there on 5th March for my clean with the lovely new hygienist. Have had a lot of work done on my teeth a year or so ago. I have always been very scared to go to a dentist in the past as I had a bad experience when I was in my teens. Now I am happy to go when I need to. Jeff made that happen. Thank you!

Highly recommend. Needed urgent root canal surgery and they squeezed me in at 45 minutes notice. Warm and friendly staff with a highly professional dental team. They followed up to see how I was doing the following day with a bit of support and after care advice. Thank you, thank you, thank you 😊.. am shifting my dental care from Auckland to Kowhai Dental in Whangarei as they very reasonably priced!

Best dentists and hygienists I have ever encountered! They are friendly, gentle, kind and sooo informative! CHEAP TOO! Best service in town :) Definitely worth a visit, especially if you're a bit nervous of the dentist.

The nicest people ever! You would think going to the dentist would be a drag but the lovely reception gals make it a breeze. They had the lowest prices and I even called other clinics. 5 stars guys!

Went to Kowhai Dental thinking I needed a filling. Turned out my wisdom tooth needed to be pulled out. Can't recommend Matthias enough! I was nervous about the pain but Matthias reassured me it wouldn't hurt. And it didn't. Absolutely amazed at how quick and painless it was. The team at Kowhai Dental are great and would highly recommend them :)

I had recently visited this state of the art, modern clinic to have my remaining three nasty wisdom teeth removed. Upon entering the clinic is was warmly welcomed by a fantastic group of young ladies, brimming with smiles. And after what felt like only a few seconds of wait I was presented with papers to sign and whisked away to my pristine dental room. I was seen by Nikki, who reviewed my X-ray's with me and explained the process that would follow. After only a short while Mathias entered and begun my local anaesthetic injection, a nightmare for some of you I'm sure! But before I could blink I was numb, and surely dribbling! He then went to work and had all three teeth out in a jiffy! I felt nothing and hardly even had chance to put my headphones in! Which, the staff were awesome and more than welcoming in letting me do so. I had previously had one wisdom tooth removed at another un-named clinic and left me in agony for days and had tore my cheek to shreds! Thanks guys!

can only say that have received from Kowhai the best dental service ever... The team is caring, kind, fast, cheaper than most, and excellent dental work (you know this when other dentists compliment the work). Its quite a big thing that they are investing into the Whangarei community health by building a bigger premises and bringing in high quality experienced specialists at low fees so we no longer have to travel to AKL.

I'm a Traveller from the Waikato & had a broken tooth that was giving me blister on my tongue. On this trip I had put up with it for 2 days until I had a day in 1 town. Kowhai dental were sympathetic to my dicomfort & juggled me in to their busy schedule. The whole team were very professional with the latest gear. If I lived closer they would be my go to dentist. Big thanks to Cindy & the Team. AAA+

Best services anywhere in Whangarei, professional staff, five star facilities, and most affordable prices in the region in my opinion! What more could anyone want?! 10/10 would recommend.

Lovely friendly team to walk into and the dentist makes you feel comfortable not judged & very affordable prices highly recommended.

Our girl started having orthodontic treatment with Geoff when she was 10 years old. She is half way through and we reguarly get comments on how good her teeth look since she has been having this treatment. Her confidence has grown because she herself can see the difference. I couldn't speak more highly of Geoff and his team at Kowhai Dental.

Our whole family drives from Kerikeri to Whangarei so we can continue going to Kowhai Dental (moved from Whangarei to Kerikeri 4 years ago). We go because we fully trust their advice. They take wonderful care of our teeth and their prices are excellent. The dentists and hygienists are fabulous and I'm so happy they will be opening a specialist centre next door as I need specialist periodontal work and Takapuna is currently the closest place to get it!! It's a long drive from Kerikeri to Takapuna and even further for people north of Kerikeri.
