I’ve recently had an oral surgery with Dr Muammar and would highly recommend him. I had 4 wisdom teeth and a molar removed under general anesthesia. My wisdom teeth were very deep and close to the nerves and therefore I was little bit nervous about the procedure. Dr Muammar was great to deal with, professional and very friendly. Above all, the surgery went smoothly and no complications or adverse side effects from it. Thanks Dr Muammar! The team at AHNS were all lovely to deal with.

After recently receiving a shock diagnosis with my daughter, we were referred to Rajan Patel and his team at AH&NS. From the minute we met the team we felt we were in good hands. Everything from the initial consultation, through to the scheduling of investigations, surgical booking and subsequent hospital stay ran extremely smoothly. Rajan went above and beyond to keep us informed and updated and communicated with genuine care which greatly helped to put a very stressed out family at ease. The complex and highly skilled surgery was performed by both Rajan and Muammar and everything went very well. The post-op care from them both as well as the nurses on the ward was outstanding. A truly lovely team who I will be forever grateful for.

It was the first time for me to stay in hospital and have surgery in my life . But the doctors and nurses who looked after me made it as a 'great' experience, it was very organized and efficient. Thanks to Dr Rajan, I was very lucky to be treated by him, the surgery was super successful and I am recovering very well :) Also its been great that I don't have to worry about claiming the fees to my insurance provider, so the whole process was very smooth and easy. Really appreciated for the service and care they provided during the difficult time I was going through :)

Had two cyst & removal of wisdom tooth surgery on 2021 and 2022. My dental specialist who introduced Dr Muammar said he was one of the top for head & neck surgery in NZ. Frankly, it was stressful period for me going through these surgery procedures. But Dr Muammar was there for me to support which I really would like to say thank you for looking after me until full recovery. Personally, I had no side affects nor any other issuses at all. I was able to be back to normal because all I had to do was follow his instructions. Dr Muammar also explains things in details to patient and truely, is one of the best doctor Ive met. Thank you doctor for every care you did for me. Would also like to thank Raine at AHNS for every single help & assistance😀

Dr Muammar and his team were always so polite and friendly, and communication was excellent. His care to two of my children within a month was excellent - we were fully informed, kept safe during a Covid outbreak, and his sense of humour made a stressful situation much easier. Thank you! We were recently referred to Dr Muammar Abu-Serriah for my sons oral surgery. Muammar is extremely caring and empathetic and conducts himself with the utmost professionalism. His manner and ability to explain the procedure carefully put as at ease instantly. We knew we were in good hands!

I was lucky enough to have Rajan Patel as my surgeon for a hemiglossectomy and neck dissection after being diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Rajan has been so supportive and caring throughout my pre & post-op care as well as being highly professional. Rajan and Muammar Abu-Serriah are a great team and were both very attentive, making me feel at ease at what was a very frightening time for myself. I couldn’t recommend or thank these surgeons enough.

I was fortunate enough to be referred to Muammar after suffering for many years from temporomandibular disorders on both sides of my jaw. Muammar quickly determined a course of action and expertly set about rectifying the problem via a relatively non invasive (albeit lengthy) surgery. The results have been beyond what I could of hoped for, and have greatly improved my quality of life and general well being. Muammar, in addition to being a gifted surgeon, is also an absolute Gentleman and I have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone requiring his expertise and care.

Rajan was patient, understanding and willing to answer any questions (no matter how unschooled) in a matter-of-fact way that was very reassuring. He understood our concerns and we felt extremely confident about him peforming the surgery given his skills and expertise. An excellent outcome was achieved by Rajan from surgery with no complications. Furthermore, the team that works alongside Rajan is also excellent.

Highly recommended. The admin, doctors and support staff are really dedicated. The managed the whole process of diagnosis and surgical procedure swifty and in a timely manner. Thourough and fast communication. The nurses taking care of me were fantastic as I had no familiy member with me in hospital. They took very good care of me during my entire stay. My case was handled by Dr Rajan and I am absolutely amazed and very thankful to him for being able to help me get back to normal and saving my voice. Thank you and best wishes to entire team.

Great service. The appointment booking service was really accommodating with requests. The whole process from the initial investigation was quick and easy. Every member of staff that I interacted with was friendly and professional. Dr Abu-Serriah performed my surgery and I've never seen such perfect, tidy stitches (and I work in healthcare so I've seen a lot!).

I had no idea what to expect with the surgery to remove a boney growth from my palette. I found Dr Myanmar Abu-Serriah to be very informative and reassuring throughout the process. The result has been amazing and remarkably pain free. I am very impressed with the result. Thank you and your team.

I felt very well looked after by the sonographer, the nurse and the Head Sonographer and Dr. Rajan Patel. Before coming in, I’d been incredibly worried for about a week, and as time passed I grew more and more nervous and afraid of the results (lump in my neck). With a lot of detail and all my questions were answered. I am happy with the treatment plan that was discussed with me. Above all, I am grateful for the professional and empathetic care I received. Muammar and his team were fantastic, i could not have imagined it could have gone so well, i had very little pain following the operation and to my amazement i did not require any of the prescribed medication in relation to pain at all. He is so patient and he took the time explaining to me my condition writing things down and even making drawings. I cannot recommend Dr Muammar highly enough! I feel extremely lucky and privileged to have been referred to him by my oral surgeon, and to now be under his watchful eye over the coming years. I was referred to Dr Muammar by a specialist who felt that he would be the best person to see and I must say that I highly recommend Dr Muammar because of his ability to make me feel at ease from the first appointment with him. I have been seeing Dr Muammar over the past 6 months and cannot recommend him highly enough. I have been to a few different surgeons for the same issue and have not been overly happy with any of them, until I was directed to Dr Muammar. His doctor-patient rapport is excellent, he communicates very clearly, and he really listens to you and your concerns. I have been lucky enough to have had Muammar Abu-Serriah as my surgeon for 2 oral operations. The first had to be under local anaesthetic because of my circumstances and so I was awake during the procedure. He is a wonderful surgeon and communicated with me throughout the operation and always reassured and encouraged me. He worked very well with his team and was totally profesional. He did an excellent job. Both operations were skilfully performed and I found Muammar to be a caring, humane and engaging person. I highly recommend Dr Muammar. He came recommended as the best in his field, and he surpassed my expectation both professionally but also in his bedside manner. He was professional, friendly and warm, extremely knowledgable and provided me with the best possible outcome for my surgery; which turned out to be a little more complicated than we hoped for. In May 2019 I was given a referral by Greville Road Dental I had an appointment the following week with Dr Muammar. As the swelling escalated Dr Muammar made a special trip to see me he advised the biopsy results showed a cyst in the gum I quickly recognized I was very lucky to have the best Oral Surgeon ‘ever’ his diagnosis gave me clarity he also explained the Operation procedure clearly and explained my recovery what to expect. He is a very professional caring person who takes a real interest in his patients he makes time he’s very genuine in his knowledge and his approach to your wellbeing I knew immediately I was in safe hands. Dr. Muammar Abu-Serriah is my surgeon. He not only is very skillful but a delightful empathetic man who takes time to quietly listen. My husband Charlie was lucky enough to have Dr Muammar Abu-Serriah as his surgeon to remove a complex tumour from his head. Dr Muammar and his team were professional and fantastic to deal with at all times. I was very lucky to have recently been looked after by the team at Auckland Head and Neck Specialists. I was referred to Dr Muammar Abu-Serriah from another specialist who said he is the best man for the job... he was absolutely right, his knowledge and skill must be amongst the best in the world. Naturally I was pretty nervous, but Muammar made me feel so at ease through the entire process. The admin staff at AHNS, Dr Ben Griffiths my anaesthetist, and the team at Mercy Ascot Epsom were amazing. I had never had a hospital experience quite like it. My recovery and overnight stay was great and virtually pain free... I couldn't believe it. Thank you so much to the team, I cannot recommend them enough... an absolute masterclass in looking after their patient.

I was totally impressed with the care I received under Muammar and the super helpful admin team for some surgery recently. Muammar has a warm and caring manner along with a lovely gentle humour which made me feel comfortable to ask any questions. I was also thoroughly impressed to receive email advice from Khasmin and Mummar on a weekend after some unexpected heavy bleeding a few weeks post-surgery. Overall, he was thoroughly professional, and I am completely happy with the outcome of the surgery.

Dr. Muammar’s professional and academic credentials speaks for itself looking for a service provider who can deliver effective and quality patient care; putting me, the patient first. His trustworthy, concerned and kind demeanour carried me on my journey, supporting me all the way. I would highly recommend Dr Muammar to anyone requiring his expertise. He is extremely knowledgeable, and you are definitely in very safe hands. Muammar really does put his patient's wellbeing first, makes you feel at ease, and takes time to get to know you. I found it incredible how much he could remember about you the next time you went for a check up, you are not just another patient. He also has an awesome team of patient care managers, they too are extremely friendly and helpful, and go the extra mile to make sure things are happening for you; so much so I felt I was saying goodbye to family when I was finally signed off after about 8 months of care. Dr Muammar Abu-Serriah performed a Meniscectomy of my right articular disc and placement of a subdermal fat graft after being diagnosed with Wilkes stage lll/lV following two dislocated jaws during another medical procedure (unrelated). After two years of considerable pain, alternative therapies, physio and various treatments I was referred to Dr Abu-Serriah who met with me and arranged an MRI and follow up visit within a week. The MRI indicated significant damage and fragmentation of the disc and he was able to fit me in to his last surgery before Christmas knowing I had further unrelated surgery early 2019. Muammar is an outstanding consultant and surgeon. He has incredible empathy for his patients and his experience and skill immediately put both myself and my family at ease. I have many other complex unrelated medical issues and since Muammar’s surgery all my specialists and many others have commented on how meticulous he was in terms of the operation and the unique technique he used which has left next to no scarring in a prominent place. This is testament to his incredible skill. Muammar looks after his patients with genuine care and sincerity. He is a genuinely caring individual with incredible surgical skill. He ensured that given my other complexities he coordinated my care fully with the multidisciplinary team at Mercy where I spent 5 days and he visited daily sometimes twice including Saturday / Sunday to check on my progress and care. I have another surgery on my left TMJ coming up in a couple of months and I have no hesitation in Dr Muammar Abu - Serriah conducting this. His support team in terms of the Practice Managers Amber and Khasmin are also outstanding in their patient care. I am extremely grateful to Muammar and his team for their care and expertise.

I had all four wisdom teeth extracted by Dr Muammar a few weeks ago and it was amazing. I was very terrified of needles but he made sure I was comfortable and surely enough, it was so painless. My recovery was quick and I didnt get any dry sockets. Best surgeon ever! 10/10 definitely recommended!

On the advice of my dentist, I made an appointment recently with Dr Muammar Abu-Serriah. He discovered a stone in a salivary gland which had gone undetected when I underwent a ultra-sound scan. Muammar was charming and put me at ease from the moment we met. The outcome was that he removed the stone under a general anaesthetic. I experienced no pain or discomfort immediately after the op and nor over the following few days. I didn't need even a Panadol, which was a bonus. Brilliant! Highly recommended.

Muammar Abu-Serriah performed oral surgery very recently. He was incredibly personable, efficient & accurate. My mouth was considerably less sore than I had expected during the days after my surgery. Most importantly I felt relaxed and safe. I recommend his services 100%.

I was referred here by my GP with intense pain in my jaw. Dr Mark Izzard saw me in the clinic and immediately rang Dr Muammar Abu-Serriah who came from Greenlane immediately and agreed to admit me at the end of the same week. The speed was very welcome as I was miserable. The staff at the Head and Neck Specialists is also very competent and compassionate and got my complicated insurance sorted. The surgery went well, and the anaesthetist was so impressed with the surgeon’s skill that he came in especially to tell me. Dr Abu-Serriah was indeed wonderful. Mercy Hospital itself was paradise. The nurses were attentive, I had an open window with breeze, and my recovery was pleasant (though not so fun once I went home). Five stars all round.

I can't rate these surgeons enough. They not only did a great job with my tongue surgery and neck dissection, they saved my life! They are both professional but also caring and great at communicating and telling you what is going on. Forever grateful 😊

Dr Mark Izzard is a wonderful doctor. He makes you feel at ease, throughly informed and listened to. Mark explains processes, options and outcomes in a clear and concise way, in which you can understand without a medical background. I would recommend him as my number one choice to anyone!
