A.Don't expect Dr Kevin McKerrow to gush all over you! I found him to be a man who speaks to the point, whilst showing empathy and demonstrating expertise in both his diagnosis and preparation of a treatment plan.
He is well supported by a kind, efficient and compassionate team of nurses led by skilled nurse manager Lucy.
Dr McKerrow was recommended to me by another well known skin specialist for potential Picoway laser treatment.
I am really happy with the outcome, and with the attention I have received from Skin Specialist Centre and would happily recommend to others.
d.I’ve been seeing Kevin and Olivia since April as was misdiagnosed at another clinic. He diagnosed my skin condition correctly straight away and put me on the right medication. 7 months later I now have zero acne and rosacea and have seen them several times for scarring and red marks. I’ve had picoway laser and excel v plus and my skin is glowing. They also manage to treat my dry eyes with tixel and it’s been a game changer as I can now wear contact lenses again and all the sinus congestion has gone. Couldn’t recommend them high enough! Love Kevin’s direct honest approach. It’s so refreshing and he absolutely is the top of his field. Olivia is wonderful and very skilled.
R.Dr Kevin is amazing. A few years back he treated my acne and I have been going to him for my acne scars (deep tissue scars) and you won't believe I have been to so many other centres no difference but just in 5 treatments my face is so better. Staffs are also so nice and lovely. My favourite nurse is Olivia .

Kevin was one of, if not the first NZ dermatologist to specialise in MOH's surgery, a procedure giving far superior outcomes than having cancers removed by your local GP.
S.I have been a patient of Dr Kevin McKerrow for well over 10yrs. Most recently he treated my neck for damage caused at another clinic where I had been burned with a fraxel laser. Kevin was very careful to ensure the laser he proposed to use for the treatment would improve the condition of my neck. Thank goodness the improvement was significant! I was very relieved and happy with the result. Over the years Kevin has treated me for various other conditions and at all times I have found Kevin and his team extremely knowledgeable and professional. I am also confident knowing that Kevin attends medical confereneces to ensure the treatments he offers and equipment he has are the latest. Knowing I am in good hands, because at the end of the day Dr McKerrow is a Skin Specialist, gives me an excellent level of comfort.
n.I have been a client of the skin specialist centre for a number of years and have received excellent care both from Kevin McKerrow and his team. The support after surgery was caring and days following surgery I was able to pop in and check with the nurses who could call on Kevin with any concerns. I feel confident that my future needs will be met with attention, skill and care.
W.Patients travel from far and wide to see Kevin McKerrow who is a real expert and someone you can have confidence in. I've recommended him to heaps of my friends and I don't recommend people lightly. I think its really important that you can trust the care you get from your specialist and I'm surprised at some of the comments I've read in these reviews. Surely its better to see someone who can quickly appraise whats wrong instead of someone that takes ages because they don't know what the problem is. On occasions Kevin has spent much time with me when needed and I get the feeling that he ensures that the patient gets the best care and addresses all issues that need to be dealt with.
A.Unfortunately, for me Kevin was more a sales person.
He tried to push all these different creams to use. All of them are the most expensive on the market and of course you can buy them right there, in the centre.
Still don't believe how can doctor insist on Hormonal pills even when there is no issue with hormones at all.
I would check many times before believing in the drugs. And wouldn't let my kids go to the centre.
However, Kevin did spend a lot of time and tried to address all the issues.
So thank you for this.
J.Dr Kevin McKerrow is an absolute expert in his field. I more than anything appreciate his honestly and genuine concern for his patients. I always feel safe in his hands no matter the treatment being performed. I highly recommend the Skin Specialist Centre team!
K.After years of dead ends with treatment for acne, my partner who suddenly developed acne after always having clear skin, was referred to the Skin Specialist centre in Greenlane. And started seeing Kevin McKerrow. Yes it’s not the cheapest place around. Yes you may need several appointments. Yes, it’s not the longest appointment you will ever attend. But it’s the best investment in time & money we have made. Really appreciate the persistence & guidance given, in what has been a trial & error exercise but one that has positive results now.
J.I have been seeing Dr Kevin Mckerrow for almost 20 years now and he is the only specialist in the country i will let near my face.
He started treating me as a teenager where i suffered from extremely angry acne, once the acne was under control i began various treatments for my rather severe acne scaring - Dr McKerrow is the go to guy for acne scars, i have had such massive improvement.
Now that i am in my early 30's my concerns are more age related, but rather for the maintainence of the amazingly youthful appearance he has given me and also the occasional pre emptive ageing treatment. The technology and treatment protocols the Skin Specialist Centre use are always the most effective and up to date im the industry, trust me, I ALWAYS do my research hahaha.
To put it simply, Kevin is an expert in his field and i count myself extremely lucky that it was his office i walked in to all those years ago.
L.I had been going to another clinic who's website & clinicians said they specialised, amongst other things, in the treatment of acne. I went there for near on a year with minimal to no results with only the dosage of the medication being increased at each 15min appointment. They never even suggested blood tests or alternative medications. Best decision I made was going to see Kevin McKerrow. It's been a bit of trial & error but as I've learnt, it's not always an exact science for acne treatment. I always leave feeling positive, fully informed and with all my questions answered. The results speak for themselves & I don't hesitate to recommend to anyone.
H.After visiting serval dermatologists over the years Dr McKerrow has been the only one who has been able to treat my eczema. Would highly recommend him and his team.
T.I recently had a second TIXEL Skin Rejuvenating Treatment on my face and neck at the Skin Specialist Centre in Auckland under the supervision of Dr Kevin McKerrow. As an expert in his field of Dermatology, I trust Dr McKerrow with my skin and value his in-depth knowledge and honesty with expected results. He is supported with a well qualified, friendly team meaning at all times I feel assured of excellent care.
If you haven’t heard of TIXEL it’s designed to improve skin tone and texture as well as improving fine lines, wrinkles, dilated pores, sun damage, acne scars, loose skin and under eye dark circles. It is safe and suitable for all skin types. It can be used on the face, neck and the back of hands. Treatment time is around 60mins. I was very happy with the results from my first treatment and look forward to the benefits of this second treatment.
It is NOTHING like Fraxel so no numbing cream was required for either of my Tixel treatments and I did not find the TIXEL particularly uncomfortable. There was no significant down time. My skin was a little pink for 24hrs.
Dr McKerrow is my ‘go to’ for the latest, safest and most effective skin rejuvenating treatments, and when it comes to my skin I know the treatments Dr McKerrow provides are well researched. I recommend a visit if you have any skin concerns including mole checks.
G.Kevin is a great Dermatologist who really knows his stuff. He is an expert in MOHS surgery, skin cancers, Acne, and other issues and I have recommended him to others as he's someone you can really trust to look after your skin problems.

She has just taken our daughter to see Dr Chandran where they were treated with a great deal of professionalism and respect. We now have no doubt that we have made the right decision going there.
t.Dr McKerrow has done wonders for my skin. I have been a client of his for 10 years now and he has treated my acne and pigmentation. I no longer have any acne and my pigmentation has almost disappeared!

The attitude of the specialist is very good. Here you will not feel discrimination. Of course you have to do what he told you to do the so-called only recent laser. Of course he is not using the latest, but my skin did change in a short time after spending nearly 3,000. But he said to do it about 4 times. For the face. Do it, spend money🤫🤫🤫🤫
