I had a really positive experience at the Better Sleep Clinic and would recommend it to anyone concerned about their sleep.
Dan delivers evidence based interventions for sleep. He is knowledgeable, and explains the principles behind these interventions clearly and simply. Moreover, Dan has a very professional, empathetic bedside manner that made it easy to work with him. I found his input very valuable. Many thanks again.

Unfortunately of late my wife has had to visit many healthcare professionals and we’ve had our fair share of being hurried along by busy specialists. Dealing with Dan has been completely the opposite. I have never once felt rushed or that Dan was thinking about anyone else other than me. He has been kind and generous above and beyond what I’d considered the norm. In fairness I have not come away with major changes to the amount of time I sleep. But importantly I have come away feeling so much more positive. My energy levels are much higher and my mood is better. Dan has really helped me come to terms with my sleep and my sleep anxiety. He summed it up by saying do you sleep to live or live to sleep. For me, it had been the latter and I could not stop stressing about sleep. Now my attitude is more laid back and I feel so much better for it. I honestly believe that Dan is one life’s genuinely good guys who really cares about the people who come to him for help. I’ve just finished my last session and I feel that the change he helped instigate will continue which can only be good. I also know that I can call on Dan in the future and absolutely will if I feel the need!

I am very grateful that I contacted, and have had the pleasure of working with, Dan at The Better Sleep Clinic. I have had chronic insomnia for over 20 years and have tried many things to help me sleep. Now I am able to go to sleep quickly and wake up in the morning having slept all night. With a lifetime of insomnia, I was dubious that treatment would work. However, I was delighted to be proved wrong. The treatment I received from the clinic really empowered me to understand and trust that I have the tools needed to have good sleep. The added bonus was that improving my sleep also resolved a bunch of other underlying problems like digestive issues and headaches - surprisingly I had not connected these. I cannot speak highly enough of this service and Dan's approach. Just don't put it off :)

Dan was a absolutely remarkable.. He helped me more than just sleeping better.. He helped me get a new perspective towards the issues that were creating my insomnia and change these thoughts for good. It's hard to get a good perspective on an online review.. But I'll be honest with you (reader), I never really gave much importance to mental health because I was for me entire life always felling on top performance.. But once an issue arises.. I contacted Dan a few months ago to try and get help with chronic insomnia. I have had insomnia for 20 years, and have tried so many different things. Dan has been amazing - a true professional with heaps of experience but also loads of empathy. Dan's guidance and knowledge was incredibly helpful in teaching me the science behind sleep and debunking the myths surrounding thoughts on "normal" sleep patterns and expectations, which directly translated into understanding the treatment plan he put together to help my insomnia. As someone who can suffer from quite a lot of anxiety, which greatly affected my sleep, the in depth information on psychological aspects affecting thought patterns and behaviours and the subsequent anxiety, frustration, etc resulting from this, was invaluable in helping me deep dive into self analysis. Through this I gained a better understanding of the underlying reasons for my anxiety, relating to both sleep and many other aspects of life, and the tools to cope with it. Dan as a therapist is incredibly attentive, compassionate, insightful and understanding and will go above and beyond to help you. Thank you for all of your guidance and help!

Dan was great to work with, he teaches the mechanics of why your sleep isn't what it should be then give you multiple techniques to work through your barriers.

Dan's help has been amazing and has seriously changed my health around sleep and pretty much my whole life. I got what I expected AND more. The support Dan provides is perfect for anyone going through issues around their sleep. It is practical from day one and if you take his advice you can bet that it will work. My problem was so acute that I couldn't travel to work - I am now back to normal after a couple of weeks. The program he designed for me was very personalized as he spends time listening to everything that you're going through (mental, physical, etc...) as well as educating you. I am now more than confident around sleep and have offered advise from everything that Dan has taught me, to my friends and family.

Dan is a fantastic therapist. Started seeing him a few months ago after struggling with getting to sleep and waking up in the morning for 10+ years. After trying insomnia treatment for a few sessions, Dan realised it wasn’t working and figured out that I have a different sleep disorder (delayed sleep phase syndrome). He made a treatment plan and it actually worked!!! I fall asleep earlier now and wake up earlier, and when I get off track I have the tools to get back on track fast. Whether I’d get to sleep on time or wake up on time was always near the top of my worries list and now it’s barely a concern. Thank you so much Dan, you really have changed my life.

I struggled with insomnia for 13 years. Some nights, I wouldn’t sleep at all. I always knew where my sleeping pills were. I tried sleep supplements, acupuncture, aromatherapy, neurolinguistic programming, and balancing my gut flora and hormones with an integrative doctor. Nothing had lasting effects. The sleep issues were causing significant issues with my home life and limiting my career.
I started working with Dan virtually from my home and was pleasantly surprised at how rapidly I saw improvements. Over the course of just a couple of weeks, I was reliably and consistently sleeping each night! The process was very practical and personalised. While it was hard at times, Dan was very reassuring and would educate me on what to expect at each stage. He gave me strategies for dealing with specific situations, such as being on-call overnight. We also explored deeper issues that were contributing. Through this education, his reassurance and my self discovery made while going through this programme, I became much more confident about my sleep. During our last session, we worked out a personalised plan to prevent the insomnia from returning.
This has been a life changer for me. I sleep much better and I don’t worry about not getting enough sleep. Relationships have improved as I am no longer sleep deprived and irritable. I have increased my work hours and am confidently adding in overnight on-call. I have more disposable income as I am not spending money on things that might help me sleep. I highly recommend Dan Ford at the Better Sleep Clinic, but I suggest you don’t wait as long as I did to get help! Thanks Dan!

If you had told me 1 year ago that I would be sleeping normally I would not have believed you. However with Dans help at The Better Sleep Clinic I can now successfully sleep a full 8 hours. Dan was there the whole time with support and encouragement. Overall it was definitely worth the time and effort it takes to get my sleeping back on track.

I am a GP who has referred several clients to Dan at The Better Sleep Clinic. Dan really knows what he's doing, he provides a highly structured service that is goal-oriented using validated means, which in my experience so far has had really good success within short timeframes. He provides sessions both in person and virtually, which means he is always accessible even during COVID lockdown. We've had far better results from Dan for sleep problems than any other service we refer to.

Dan ran a couple of workshops for our department during COVID19. The content was well- structured and highly relevant. Dan’s presentations were open and engaging. During these, he made clear, evidence- based recommendations.
I tweaked my sleep routine with a single adjustment, and I’m back to feeling rejuvenated in the mornings. It’s made such a difference.
Dan’s psychology background gives him an awareness of different causes of sleep disturbance - so he can target interventions accordingly. Sleep is so fundamental to wellbeing, I’m sure he will make a big impact in this arena.
