I use to suffer from chronic migraines (20+ days a month) and constant low grade headaches for 20+ years. Since I changed my diet the migraine is all under control and I rarely gets it. But as the migraine headache reduced, I noticed the underlying cause of my constant headache is originated from my neck (cervicogenic). I have had many treatments from varies practitioners and visits to the neurologists (some helpful, some not so much). I decided to visit the headache clinic because even though I only gets 1-2 days of severe headache/migraines a month and occasional low grade headache it is still very debilitating and reducing my quality of life significantly. I saw Toni-Maree, who was very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and knows her stuff! After the initial consultation and treatment, I felt instant change in my headache pattern (reduction in pain and pain pattern). I have had 3 sessions so far and I have not had a headache this month! There’re a lot of self-care/exercise required and if you want to feel better, you really have to do what the physio tells you to. Their treatment can help but it is what you do outside of the clinic that can really sustain the benefit. I find the exercise (especially the strength training part) the most beneficial. It is quite expensive, but I am happy to pay for their expertise and also for the amount of time and money they have put into their education. I have recommended a few of my clients to visit the headache clinic and spoked highly about it to my colleagues.

I have had a very positive experience at The Headache Clinic. I have had migraine for 53 years following a concussion. I have had numerous concussions over the years. The latest concussion being just over a month ago. This prompted me to go to the clinic. The clinician I saw was Joe. He found that my C2 vertebrae was out of alignment. He used gentle manipulation on my neck. After a couple of session my migraines improved from lasting 4-5 days to just one. The exercises are a must if you want to get the full benefit of the therapy. If you are suffering from migraine or any kind of headache, this is the place to go. Very professional and empathetic treatment. Joe was wonderful at explaining everything treatment process. Highly recommend! I have been suffering from tension headaches and migraines for around 12 years, since my early teens. Headaches and migraines became a normal part of life for me. It wasn’t until a few months ago when my migraine symptoms started changing that I began to wonder why and worry that perhaps something was wrong, and sought help at the Headache Clinic. I have been seeing Joe for treatments and he has been great. I was not only wanting to be rid of my migraines and tension headaches, but I really wanted to understand WHY I was experiencing them, so that I could understand how to keep them away long term. Joe was fantastic at explaining the cause of my headaches clearly, educating me on how my posture has been triggering them all along, and why that is. Alongside treating me using gentle sustained pressure on my spine/neck, Joe has taught me ways to maintain good posture, advised me on how to adjust my work station etc, and taught me exercises to do. Since beginning treatment I have only had one migraine, and the severity of my symptoms was HUGELY reduced. My tension headaches have reduced in frequency and severity too. I even had a solid 8 day stint with no headache whatsoever, which was unheard of for me! You definitely do have to put in the work and keep up with the exercises and good posture! I have noticed if I slack off and get lazy with my posture or don’t do the exercises as frequently as I should, the tension headaches return. Now that I’m aware of the causes and have the tools to help keep them away, I feel positive and confident that I can live a pretty headache-free life. I would highly recommend the Headache Clinic to anyone who is suffering from headaches/migraines! I wish I had come to them sooner! Thanks so much Joe.

My experience at the Headache Clinic working with Toni-Maree has been incredible. I thought I would always have the pain from my headaches and this is changing my life. I really appreciate how Toni-Maree took her time in our first consultation to talk me through everything and outline a plan that was tailored for me. I feel comfortable, supported and hopeful that the pain from my headaches will continue to disappear. I have had migraines on and off for many years. Over these years, I have tried everything, including a piercing that got infected! I had met Helen a long time ago and my son had seen her and after that meeting, he never got a migraine again. So, I decided I needed to do something about mine, after suffering 2 migraines a week recently. So, I went to the Auckland clinic and saw Joseph, and then Helen again and got reminded of all the things I forgot. It is a little expensive, but it is totally worth now I can work a full week without a whole day in bed. And now I have decided that I must make yearly appointments to be reminded of what I need to do. Since my first treatment back with them, I have not had a migraine since! Bliss!. I now occupy my 12 mins a day on keeping them away! Thanks Guys, you are going a great job of all of us that are suffering. Happy to talk to anyone that has doubts or questions!

I can honestly say, when I walked into The Headache Clinic for my first consultation with Toni Maree that she was my last hope. I had very nearly given up ever finding the solution to my unpredictable headaches of the previous decade. Throughout this last decade, I had inquired with a half dozen different professionals who never had the right answer for me. Most would resort to prescribing strong painkillers such as Rizatriptan etc. These painkillers were only a band aid temporary solution whilst my headaches worsened in pain and pattern through the years. This also impacted greatly on my overall quality of life. During my first consultation with Toni Maree I had the biggest eye opening revelation! Toni Maree's expert explanation of the why, how and the final answers to relieve me of my headaches, was indeed so very simple and logical. I have not suffered a headache since meeting Toni Maree!!! I am so so happy and vastly relieved!!! I have not even needed to take so much as a Panadol since!! Toni Maree's knowledge and expertise is so vital to all of us who have suffered from these totally unnecessary headaches! I intend (and am) shouting out accolades to the awesome Toni Maree as I am so very grateful for meeting her!!!

Excellent service, all the way from the assessments, consultation up until the treatments and exercises. Joseph is my therapist, he is very thorough and soooo knowledgeable. The method that he used to assess the structure of my neck was very impressive. No therapist/ physio explained the cause of my headache as thorough as Joseph did. The clinic was neat, clean and comforting. The exercises that have been given were very time efficient. On top of all of these, Nicole the customer service rep was welcoming and friendly on the phone. Customer parking is available too!

The treatment I have recently had from Joseph has hugely reduced the frequency of my migraines and headaches. It has helped me to be in control by treating myself through good posture and exercises.
