We have be wanting to see Jolie for a long time after a friend recommended her as a healer. Well, what an amazing experience! I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was just what I needed. Jolie is a strong woman with a deep caring nature. I felt immediately at ease and in the presence of someone highly intuitive and experienced in this Maori healing art. I felt elated and so pleased I had come to visit her after the session of body work was over. I will be booking a future session to release the remaining energetic blockages and tension when the “timing” is right. So wonderful to see these ancient healing arts coming back to have their rightful place in New Zealand… He whakaute nui!

Where to begin….. I have never met anyone like Jolie or experienced anything like what she offers. After 2 years of various therapies for PTSD after a major trauma injury, I came across her site and asked if she might be able to help. I didn't know anything about Mirimiri before I went to the workshop for a 20 minute session. WOW. In 20 mins I felt so connected to the practitioner who briefly explained mirimiri and asked where I felt I needed most attention. Again WOW it was full on but I trusted her and went with the flow. My healing experience with Jolie was absolutely life changing, I really had no expectations going into it. I'm writing this review about 6 months from having the healing. I had some trauma I had been holding on to for a long time and although I noticed a difference after the session it's something that I've noticed more and more as times gone on. I have been able to reflect back on my life and childhood and realised things that I have never before that and connect dots that I wouldn't of if I hadn't had this healing experience. Kia ora koutou. After what was an incredibly stressful 2021 year, my highlight was attending the Jan 15 & 16, 2022 workshop in Wgtn. Every topic, discussion, exercise – was ‘on point’ for me and loved getting to know my soul group. Jolie Davis and her roopu were authentic and chosen for this work – and I felt safe, and privileged to be there, to feel the wairua, to learn this knowledge. It is foundational, and perfect for someone who is new to mirimiri romiromi. I just wanted to add – that I honestly felt I had attended our version of Hogwarts, and my chosen rakau was my wand. I attended the Mirimiri workshop this weekend. I thought I was going along to learn some new skills, but it was MUCH more than that. I learned so much about the beautiful Maori culture, and did a lot of personal healing. Techniques I learned and experienced resulted in personal healing on an emotional and spiritual level, much more so than physical healing. Working with Jolie was such an incredible experience. I have been suffering from chronic pain for over 20 years and have tried many forms of treatment- medication and many different forms of body work. And yet, Jolie was the person I needed to meet all along! She was able to connect the dots and help me understand more about my own body while affirming what I already knew - my body was holding on to trauma and pain from the past which needed to be agitated and stimulated so that it could finally be released. Kia ora koutou, I took part in 2 workshops run by Jolie in Aug and Nov of 2017. At that time I was diagnosed with stage 4 Ovarian cancer. The first workshop I encouraged my daughter and sister to attend as well because I had heard Mirimiri would help me with the cancer I had. After the first day of the 1st workshop I went away being able to taste my food. I was so happy. By the 2nd day I had more energy and my other senses were working really well. Prior to it, with the chemo I was going through all my senses weren't really working. The 2nd workshop I had another daughter, son and husband attend. In this workshop, my husband had a healing session and Jolie and Wairua managed to do in 30 mins what the western health system hadn't done in 3 years. Fast forward to 2018. I have returned to work. I returned to fulltime teaching in July of last year. In my class my students used Rakau for self care. Now in 2019, I have a new position at Camberley School as Pastoral care and using Wairuatanga to help our tamariki. Addressing historical injuries and looking at our students as a whole. We have established a Cultural room (Te Rongo Mauri) where Mirimiri is available for our whanau and our kids can rest. I am very gratedul to of attended these workshops. I’ve currently had two sessions with Jolie unlocking years of pain caused by old sporting injuries. In two sessions I’ve noticed a big difference in my muscle memory, the way I feel, how I hold myself, even learning new breathing technique. Be prepared though, as your initial reaction will be pain to unlock any tension, you’ll feel muscle release, then muscle recovery ahhhh. I can’t speak more highly of Jolie’s techniques and professionalism contributing to a better healthier wellbeing. Honestly, it’s money well spent for the limited number of sessions required.

I hadn't seen the Google reviews before going, but 243 reviews and a 5* rating really doesn't surprise me! My wife and I visited recently, and can both safely say it was a mindblowing experience. That's not to say the process was 'fun' or relaxing - quite the opposite, it was very painful; but it was very necessary, and Jolie was extremely clear about what she was doing at every point and I couldn't have felt in safer hands. Before coming, I had had some problems with my shoulder but Jolie quickly found that some other issues I had been having were stemming from an impact injury to a specific part of my lower back. This reminded me that when i had injured my shoulder 7 years ago, that part of my back had also hit the ground very hard. I hadn't noticed it since as the shoulder was always front of mind, but clearly this muscular response, and the impacts on spinal alignment and diaphragm have been causing problems in the interim. So even if you're just feeling small niggles, it's definitely worth popping in. It's also fascinating that the treatment mindset is quite different in many ways to physio, and having tried both I would recommend any curious physiotherapists to go too to learn a bit about the theory and practice of Mirimiri. Thanks so much for the whole experience, and I know you like not to have to see your patients again :), but at the very least you'll be seeing our friends!

I went and saw Jolie as I'd been having a migraine once a week for about 4 months and it was becoming unbearable trying to deal with them. Jolie identified a injury that I had 15 years ago as the cause rather than what I thought was bad posture while I was working, and while I can't say that the mirimiri was a relaxing experience (haha!), I haven't experienced a migraine since and it's been almost two months. I went to this workshop not really knowing much, but went on my sister's advice. I found it to be an amazing experience. Jolie is a font of knowledge of both the spiritual & physical aspects of this traditional Maori practice. I had been told by two physio's that I wouldn't be able to get rid of the constant clicking in my neck when I walked or ran (or turned my head to the right) and that I would have to "live with it." We were warmly invited onto Rehua Marae with divine karanga on a frosty winter morning for Manawa Ora's very first workshop on foundations of traditional Màori Healing and Bodywork; Mirimiri and Romiromi in te Waipounamu. My intention was to learn the cultural aspects of Màori Healing to enhance my work as a bodyworker in lomilomi but as we introduced ourselves I felt a deeper reason for being at the workshop. To connect to my whakapapa. I learnt so much about who I am, who we all are and how we are tapu, we are connected to source. Jollie's teaching is straight up with humor, grounded presence and whole lot of experience, knowledge and wisdom. Her supporting whanau helped create a safe space for us and also recorded the teachings for us to refer back to. It was a jam-packed weekend so I'm glad for the notes and access to recordings. The kai was absolutely delicious!!!! I loved the rakau and floorwork. I look forward to tuning into my energy work more and into my set of cards. I feel so grateful for the love and care I received on the weekend from my new extended whanau and for all the teachings which I will be integrating more and more as time goes by. I am beyond blessed gaining ancient knowledge and wisdom from Jolie. Last year I attended a workshop in Rotorua. This year I felt called to attend another workshop in Christchurch to relearn the foundations of Mirimiri and Romiromi. Second time round, everything I have learnt makes so much sense. I feel more aligned with purpose. Days before the workshop, I felt ungrounded and disconnected to myself. Through floorwalk, I was able to release mamae (pain) from my pelvis down. My pelvis and hip was misaligned...in result I struggled to connect firmly with papatuānuku (Mother Earth) and connect with my body. I realized that I was working in a career that wasn't serving me and putting my own needs in the backseat. I felt obligated to help my partner and his family business, but I was not following my purpose. Knowing this, I allowed my body to release the mamae in my pelvis and legs. Breathing and exhaling through the pain, I felt the energy flow fluidly from the crown all the way to my feet. I haven't felt this way in a looong time. I feel grounded and feel more in my body than I have felt in my whole life. I am a healer and a purpose of mine is to help/enable people with their healing. We truly are our own healers! I 1000% recommend this workshop to anyone that is feeling disconnected, lacking purpose and wants to help people heal. You gain so much knowledge and tools from this workshop, so much more for what you pay for. What a shifting, moving, empowering workshop on the foundations of Mirimiri and Romiromi this weekend. Jolie has such a presence of vulnerability, humour and strength. It made the workshops feel safe, fun and empowering. What a beautiful group of people to share that with! I just wanted to say again, thank you so much for all that you bring and carry with you. Words cant really follow up how I appreciate and honour this wisdom you share. I have a deeper physical realisation that began to surface during the Manawa Ora workshop that I wasn't 'prepared' for but is so good for the shedding of old and making way for new. It is the resistance to pain, but physical pain, I thought I had 'worked through' my resistance of emotional pain, that has been carried on both sides of my family;- hiding it, not showing emotion, especially the negative ones. I realised what I do, to stay safe, is to go back into mind. But what came up for me was a block of "i fear physical pain", and "don't share your pain, hide your pain" and that showing your pain is 'bad'. I didn't know those beliefs were sitting there still, and i have realised its old western 'views' that live in my body still but are leaving. So I am so grateful that you and the Manawa Ora Whanau open up this space. It's helped these beliefs to be agitated and decomposed. I had a deep release with floor work at the end I wasn't 'expecting' that allowed me to physically understand the tension and resistance I carried, and also my ability to release, through physical, bodywork. Its helped me appreciate the deeper inner/self healing I am embarking on through more 'hands on' body work. "Know yourself" is one of the foundational lessons, and to heal yourself before you heal others. This work is so important for our communities! I recommend and support this work 100%, it's from the ground up, cuts through to the core of healing and is rooted in love.

On a very rainy cold Saturday morning with no motivation I dragged myself along to mirimiri sessions being offered at Kokiri, never before have I had a healing session like I experienced. I was recommended to Jolie from a friend, and it is one of the best recommendations I've been given to date! I want to say that the mirimiri I recieved was beautiful and gentle and easy but I'd be lying. It was painful, excruciatingly painful. It was intense, and I tried to breath throughout and manage the pain the best I could but sometimes I cried out without mentally registering that it was coming out of my mouth. I share this bc unfortunately this is what my body has been carrying for decades, without my knowledge. By the time Jolie was finished, I was able to take her touch without pain. I was able to stand straight (again, I didnt realise that I wasn't) and my posture was corrected. So yes, while I had to endure pain, it was worth the years of pain and trauma being released from my body.

On a personal pilgrimage to New Zealand I attended a weekend workshop led by Jolie Davis - Manawa Ori Mirimiri & Workshops. My experience being limited to shamanic work, was thinking this training would be gen entry level intro with demonstrations around bodywork. Wrong! Day One and we were all undertaking this work. Jolie teaches with fierce kindness threaded with humour, we had so many belly laughs while learning deep. Time stretched to accommodate 1:1 attention and group learning. Also present is a supporting team of experienced practitioners. Those of you reading here from Western European background, this work will get you out of your heads and into the wisdom of your bodies. The healing in this work is potent and there is no hiding. For me personally the work was emotional at its core; to let go of the faltering action, step into power and undertake own work. Clearly the spirits in Europe have been talking with the spirits in New Zealand! Same message, different traditions. This healing work is for everyone. I noted attenders were from other disciplines (shiatsu, physio therapy). Me, I had no experience of body work; got stuck in and received the experience, healing and advice needed. Would also add this is a repeatable workshop, for all levels of experience, the sharing and garnering of knowledge is amazing. Warmest happy regards to Jolie and team.

Thanks so much Jolie, this was an amazing massage. I generally hold a lot of tension in my muscles and only a deep tissue massage will make a dent. Jolie uses massage targeting pressure points and manipulation of your body to achieve great results. I was suffering from full on headaches due to tension in my neck and left feeling instantly better. My only complaint is I don't live close enough to see Jolie regularly! Don't go expecting a gentle relaxing massage but highly recommend if you you want great results that target hard to shift pain and discomfort.

My first Marae course for nearly over 9years. I wasnt expecting to come out with a sore leg from doing the circle sit on your mate behind me exercise. When We all fell Jo feel right on my leg and I felt a crack. Day1. Dam limping throughout the duration of course. Not what I was expecting and neither expecting to be on that table so soon. I am now at the Doctor's getting checked over mainly to file an ACC claim as I am a Healthcare worker I shower the elderly and clean their homes on a daily basis. I need to cover myself in case my body gets worse. I am telling them that I slipped at home trying to hang my washing out. They don't need to know the truth as I respected your korero around protection from the healthcare system. I have been polticing my leg with kawakawa. Resting and raising it but I am full on back at mahi now. Gotta pay my Bill's. I loved the course and want to do the mahi u do but self care first for me. I've been privileged enough to have recently experienced Manawa Ora Mirimiri from Jolie Davis and also her workshops. She is a truly gifted healer in her treatment for injury and pain. I've seen so many healers and specialists for my chronic jaw pain which I've suffered from for many years, and she basically wiped it out in one session. She doesn't want to see you over and over again, her genuine and authentic goal is to fix the problem in front of her. I attended the Workshop in Wollongong in Jan 2019. On arrival at the site it was apparent I was in for an experience that was going to change me for the better as a person. I didnt know what I was expecting besides the obvious (learning) so going with the flow and remaining present were my main goals for the next two days. Manawa Ora catered for all types of learning from Oral, written, practical and visual that was very well thought about as its importance for inclusion was apparent. Many tohu were presented to me during those two days where it also revealed another another part of my story that I needed to hear. Its being true to who we are as Maori, what gifts we have that need to be utilised effectively for the betterment of our whanau and others, the duties we have to ensure we carry this with pride in our hearts. Learning karakia and waiata was reka rite. Meeting new whanau was awesome. Meeting a new part of myself that can do this mahi is always a good thing and walking in my mana is long overdue. Everything was taught with experience, honour, respect and skill by both Jolie and whanau. Before taking part in this I felt so extremely disconnected from myself and discontent with life. I had been beaten down by living a corporate lifestyle for the past decade and also very disconnected from the knowledge of my own people. Unbelievable!!! I have had osteopathic treatment, chiropractors and number of regular massages and no one has given me the relief that Jolie has. My journey so far has been great, im still feeling awesome, Physically, Mentally, Emotinally and Intuitively clearer towards my hikoi on MY PATH to Healing thy self first and fore most and I have felt a "Shift" in my life. My neck is not as puffy and since, my back has been great and then I have also LOST 5kgs withour trying!....Also my woman monthly has become lighter and had been extremly heavy the past 6 months....not this time sunshine! 😁👍🏽🤩🎉 I had previuosly tried alsorts to lose weight but it just wouldnt shift! I know within myself that when I stress and hold tention and emotion I get added kilos! Yip, I have known this for a while but never knew where to start on how to clear the blockages Physically, Emotionally, Mentally and Spiritually and since Jolie Davis dug deep into me with her knowledge and skills my life has started to change and started my path to heal after a recent traumatic event along with past mamae that I didnt realise still had a huge impact on me! But all I can say is THANK YOU SO MUCH. If you hold on to past emotions, life events, health problems you can make a change with Mirimiri/Romiromi and believe it works but most of all let go of everything and be open to make that "SHIFT" happen! Just wanted to touch base and say thank you Jolie for bringing me into the collective Mauri that was created over the weekend and for your dedication to this important mahi. Our people (actually everyone) are crying out for this. The problem I see is that they don’t know what they don’t know , so it’s important that all of us raise this mahi in others consciousness. I learned so much: This was the first time in a long time that I have invested back in me (my lesson number one, I need to invest (intentionally so) in my wellbeing and continued growth, so I am able to move forward and move others around me). I mentioned in my korero, that I’ve been an auditor and risk advisor for most of my working career and something moved in me spiritually, mentally and physically this weekend that I can’t explain as I’ve been trained to do. I accept I don’t need to explain but to simply say, I feel better and lighter and that I need to share this with others. (my lesson number two, continue to trust that, I and my Tupuna are guiding me to better Wellbeing, and greater enlightenment. One theme that resonated for me over the weekend is that of ‘Coming home where I belong’. I think the path I tread is incongruent with who I am and how I think, which hits to the core reason I sometimes battle at work and in some aspects of my personal life (my lesson number three, work to absolutely be congruent with myself). My last takeaway from the weekend, Miri miri / Romi romi is also about stimulating and agitating thought. (Lesson number four Miri miri and Romi romi works on the most important muscle in the body, the brain).

Tena Koutou, I was priveliged to have the most healing I have ever had in my life in the timely 20min experience. To my complete suprise the depth and breadth of areas that were healed included Taku Tinana, Taku Hinengaro me Toku Wairua...
