Jordan has been a god sent. I uprooted my puppy from SC to AZ when my husband deployed. She regressed immensely and became dog aggressive to boot. I was overwhelmed and felt like a dog mom failure for putting her through this. It’s been four months and my girl is still this wild crazy lab, but she’s seen so much positive improvements since we started training. She’s listening, obedient, her anxiety has decreased, and we were able to walk the park this week. Jordan’s been amazing and responsive with all my questions when I’m at home and training. I cannot wait to see where Sesi is at in another 3 months.

Listen to Will and Jordan's show every Saturday and you will completely understand why they are the best in the business. Interesting topics and great advice for pet parents no matter what your geographical location. By listening to one show on a Saturday morning and calling in, I was able to learn enough about my dog's behavior to correct it. Now Ms." Gimme your sammich" no longer begs or throws a tantrum. Sometimes pet parents need training too.

We are just four months into working with Phoenix Dog Training, so this is an early review of our progress to date. If you're looking for the headline of our initial impressions here you go: Stop your dog trainer search and hire Phoenix Dog Training. Period. You're not going to find anyone better.
Yes, the training is a significant investment that you pay up front. However, from our first interactions and meeting with our trainer Jordan Marsteller, the old adage immediately proved true: You get what you pay for. At our first session Jordan took an approach unlike any trainer we've worked with: he spent almost three hours asking us questions, listening, taking notes, and really trying to understand our dog's issues. Only after all that, meeting and spending time with our dog, and consulting with founder and owner Will Bangura did he make an initial diagnosis and map out a plan. Go figure: we paid all that money and did not do any actual training at our first session!
And that's the next headline: If you're serious about correcting behaviors and issues, don't chase the quick fix (or least expensive trainer).
Our primary issue with our two-year-old Bella, a cocker spaniel-poodle mix, is resource guarding, i.e. dog gets illogically possessive about random objects (a scrap of paper, a sock, a piece of fuzz) and lashes out including biting when you try to retrieve whatever she is guarding. Everyone in our family of four has been bitten at least once. We tried two other dog trainers, who were both well-intentioned, competent, and professional, without success. We were losing hope, desperate, and hired Phoenix Dog Training as a last result: either they help us resolve this issue, or we will sadly have to find Bella a new home.
We've now invested four months, which has included three in-home sessions with Jordan. During that time a lot has happened including meeting with our veterinarian to start an anti-anxiety medication (the dog, not us), watching videos sent by Jordan, practicing in advance of his visits, and communicating regularly with him by phone, text, and email.
A few days after our third session, Bella behaved in a remarkable new way (just as Jordan had taught us) to completely avoid what would have previously been a big resource-guarding drama and potential bite. We were so excited we immediately called Jordan to tell him of the success, which is the third headline: When you hire Phoenix Dog Training, you have an ally who's invested in helping over the long haul.
Bella is by no means "cured" yet, and we still have a lot of work and training hours to dedicate. In fact, we haven't even officially started to specifically work on resource guarding. Again, the comprehensive approach takes time as we're building a foundation for the future good behaviors.
We will update and/or add progress reports and a final evaluation once our training is complete. In the meantime, we couldn't be happier with Jordan and Phoenix Dog Training. On her good days Bella seems like a different dog. When her bad behaviors arise, we are much more confident now that we have a comprehensive plan and program to de-escalate things in the moment and keep moving forward.
Thank you, Jordan and Will!

INCREDIBLE! Thats all I can say. After working with other trainers I was not able to fix my dogs dog aggression. My dog also had anxiety and I was looking for a dog anxiety trainer in Phoenix who also specialize in dog aggression. Our Rainer was fantastic. He was super knowledgeable and was able to have us see results immediately. I'm so happy I went with Phoenix Dog Training. They are the best dog trainers in Phoenix!!

WOW. I have never been so impressed with the knowledge, professionalism, and skills that I received from Phoenix Dog Training. I have used trainers in the past but what a difference between a trainer and a dog behaviorist. My dog had severe aggression and severe fear along with severe separation anxiety. My dog was a biter, he would bite people and attack and bite other dogs. I'll be honest the price was not cheap, but I would have paid anything to be able to help Amos, my 3 year old Pit mix. It actually was cheap when I think about all the money I wasted on other trainers who weren't certified dog trainers in Phoenix or certified dog behaviorists. Today Amos can be around both people and dogs with no aggression and I can leave the house without Amos having any more separation anxiety. If you need dog training for an aggressive dog in Phoenix, or have a dog with fears, or dog anxiety you will not find anyone better than these guys.

Phoenix Dog Training was excellent to work with. Both Will and Jordan were great at explaining what we needed to do to work with our dog and provided plenty of resources for us to better understand how to read our dog. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to learn how to work with their own dog.

During our first meeting with Will and Jordan we were very impressed with how attentively they listened to our concerns and issues. After our first meeting we felt confident that the goals we set for our dogs would be achieved. Our dogs have exponentially exceeded our expectations. The knowledge and tools that Jordan provided have not only made us better pet owners but we now have a much deeper understanding of animals and their behaviors. The training REALLY works! But you have to own the tasks, take the time, and put the work in (we know it's easier said than done!). Occasionally when things didn't come together, Jordan and Will always took took the time to formulate a new and successful plan. Jordan always had time to listen, was always present, and never made our training sessions feel rushed. Had we only known Will and Jordan a couple of years ago, we would not have lost a precious young dog. We have worked (unsuccessfully) with other trainers and have never met a more caring, compassionate, understanding, and effective trainer as Jordan. Highly recommend Phoenix Dog Training. Can't say enough good things...as you can see :)

Phoenix Dog Training has some of the most knowledgeable trainers I’ve ever interacted with. Will and Jordan really understand the behavior behind why my dog kept barking and whining all the time. With their help I was able to let my elderly mother walk in my home again without the fear of my dog jumping on her.

Jordan was such a help with my puppy, Roscoe! He explained how I could stop my puppy from jumping all the time and even helped me with potty training by sending a very detailed course on how to properly potty train my dog. I cannot explain how helpful this radio show is and how professional they are and how much they know about dog behavior.

My dog was very fear aggressive to people and other dogs. Before we found Phoenix dog training we tried several other dog trainers in Scottsdale. No one was really able to help our dog. Obedience training for our dog got better but the aggression and fear stayed the same. I can't recommend Phoenix dog training and their animal behaviorist Will enough. I have a completely different dog. My dog no longer is aggressive to other dogs, and we can have people over to the house without worrying that my dog will bite someone. My dog also had very bad separation anxiety that we worked on and today this is no longer a problem.
