Personally wouldn't recommend the training classes. The environment is loud, very distracting for the dogs and not conducive to learning and we honestly came away from every class feeling downtrodden and frustrated. As someone else has said in another review the back to back classes mean you're in and out with very little personal interaction and our specific concerns were not asked about or corrected during the classes. I'd really expect a lot more for the high price, when other much more personal classes are available elsewhere for a fraction of the cost (which we are now enrolled in). In saying that, our pup has improved a lot in her lead walking during the basic obedience class, but we believe that's really due to our diligence with homework and practice rather than advice we learned from the class (as they told us to do things we were already doing). Lead walking takes practice and time to build success with increasing distractions and we felt like this course doesn't allow for that. We're going to stick to celebrating our pup's progress at her own pace going forward at a more realistically paced training class elsewhere.

Best team ever, we’ve done training and doggy daycare and they are always friendly and genuinely love the dogs they care for. The photos they add of the dogs daily is a huge bonus!

Our recently adopted dog has separation and socialisation issues and had Jo at a home visit to provide her advice and knowledge. The visit was definitely beneficial over and above what we'd been trying to reading online. Our dog is now also attending their daycare which is working out well, he comes home happy and tired. After a very nervous arrival for his first visit, he was excited to arrive on his second visit. Note that this review was written after 2 visits to the daycare.

Although we gained some great insights, I would not recommend Canine Solutions classes. They are pretty stressful because of their “sausage factory” model. All the classes run end on end and there is little to no time for individual questions or attention. The training is not tailored in anyway for your dog’s specific issues or needs and the main aim seems to be to crush their spirit. Since engaged another trainer and we are going really well.

Best pup experience ever!! Trainers are understanding and treat you little furbaby as they would treat their own! Highly recommended for obedience school a d day care.

I've taken my dog here for puppy preschool and doggy day care, he absolutely loves going to both and always comes home knackered from having so much fun. The staff are knowledgeable and provide a safe space for puppies to learn and play. Definitely recommend

Great place to take your doggo for either training or for doggy day care, even for tiny ones like we have (Chihuahua x foxy), Jo has loads of knowledge and her team are really great too, couldn't recommend Canine solutions enough :D

SIMPLY THE BEST - BETTER THAN ALL THE REST I have known Jo for approx 15 years. My first contact with Jo was via a recommendation from another local dog owner, who knew I had adopted a dog with multiple issues. My dog had missed it's vital puppy socialisation period of it's life and as such was petrified of everything. Jo initially came to my home for a house visit. I remember the day well. Jo was so kind professional and full of enthusiasm towards helping me and my dog. We later signed up for classes with Jo and from that day on we never looked back. My dog excelled and his confidence grew, he passed all his certificates. Jo's classes taught me a great deal and I have been able to pass this information onto others and I use the training on other dogs in my care and my new dog. I am also locally known as the "dog lady" and I myself have been asked to train other peoples dogs but I say no you must go to Jo Goddard. After passing my initial training with Jo, Jo and I kept in contact. A couple of years later Jo made contact to confirm she was expanding her training with classes in Obedience for Competition, Fun Agility, Dog Dancing etc. While we tried all the classes and had so much fun along the way, our chosen area of focus was with Obedience. With a small team we practiced each week. Jo had a vast knowledge of Obedience Competitions as that had been her chosen skill set prior to becoming a full time dog trainer. Jo came to watch us compete in our first show and I was blown away when I won out of the junior section on our first rounds. Everyone was wondering where this new small group of highly trained people had come from. The pride in Jo's face and our excitement made us the happiest people on the day. Jo has always been the person who I have referred people to, not because I can think of no better person to invest your training time with. I always tell people if you are prepared to work hard, follow Jo's training, do your homework you will come out on top. Not one person I have referred Jo to has been disappointed. Why because they have shared the Jo Goddard experience. Last year I started training with Jo once again. My previous dog had died and I had taken on a new challenge. Jo and I had private lessons to bring my new girl up to a level that gave me the control I was lacking. Again these lessons and the few group lessons I joined shortly after, were invaluable. The most important thing I think I need to highlight is that, Jo looks after the clients .... both clients - that being the dog and the customer. At no point can they be separated as they are a team. Jo has been a huge strength to me in more ways than one. Jo takes care of people, she gives up her time to help others and is currently helping another Charitable Trust in need. There is no denying that Jo puts in the hours. She works non stop to make her business the success it is today. Today Jo Goddard and Caning Solutions are "all things dog" . Jo runs her business, she manages staff - who wouldn't dream of working anywhere else - she has a fleet of vans that pick up dogs for "day care", she has a kennels business, that is rightly called the "Hotel" (which my girl has stayed at more than once and loved) and your dog can be groomed while she is visiting. Jo still offers one on one training, home visits, group training classes and most of all she still has time for people. Jo understands Customer Service and building strong relationships with her clients and their treasured pets. We moved from christchurch after having our neighbours torment our dog. When we got him he was a lovely rescue Puppy but through the torment had become an aggressive territorial dog. The enjoyment factor had gone and we were stressed owners. After home visits, education and day care we have seen our amazing boy return to a loving boy and relaxed. Jo & staff have been taking care of our Auggie since he was a pup. He's now 11 1/2yrs old. I have never had to worry when we leave him to go on vacation, cause I know he'll be spoiled and loved. They have daycare and obedience training too. I highly recommend Canine Solutions..

We adopted a 3 year old huntaway off a remote farm and brought her to the city. She was very nervous of other dogs but really wanted to have doggy friends. The team here helped her over come her fear and she is now much more confident with other dogs!

My 1yr old Jack Russell has been attending Canine Solutions in Seaview for approximately 3xweeks (2 days per week). He has improved 100%. He has become a more relaxed dog who listens and tries so hard to please. He loves the interactions with other dogs and appears to be settled and less hyper active. He has become more of a family pet than a pest.. Hes still naughty sometimes. A little story..when we had him neutered the vet clinic called us to pick him up 3hrs earlier because he was so disruptive to other pets despite him being in his own cage. Komet has quietened down and seems to be more in control of himself. Cheers to Jo from Canine Solutions...you are stars. Thanks Char Hunt

Jo and the team are super friendly! Pick up and drop off for dogs at such a reasonable price. Personally i have seen a big change in my dogs walking and each week at Canines he has a blast 😄 Definitely recommend 👍
