I have a rescue that had unreliable recall, reactive on leash, and with no direction in improving. In the first lesson, Bastian fixed these problems within 5 minutes. Layla would also bark at neighboring dogs often, and he gave some advice which also fixed that problem within a day. Bastian was so good, that I ran out of problems to give him! I don't ever leave reviews, seriously, I'm too lazy for that, but I am genuinely impressed with Bastian and his services. If you want to have a better relationship with your dog, and be set up to have the KNOWLEDGE to have your 'dream' dog, then I would book 3 private lessons with Bastian.

We could not be more thrilled with the outcome of our training with Bastian, our only regret is that we didn't seek training support sooner. After bringing our dog over from the US we had just settled into the fact that our dog's Shack's excited lunging on walks and aggressive barking at visitors meant we had to compromise our lifestyle to keep him from acting out. After the first 2 hour session with Bastian we quickly realized we didn't have to compromise our own lives to have a happy and obedient dog. After 3 sessions we feel like we have a new dog and can walk without fear of him acting out, leave him at home alone without incessant barking, and again have visitors over to our home. We acquired the tools and coaching needed to change both ours and our dog's behavior through training and would absolutely refer TheK9Way.

we have seen such a huge change with our 11 year old dog. What a result! I would definitely recommend Bastian as a dog trainer (and a human trainer 😊). The results just blew us away. I was embarrassed and worried to walk my 8 months old German shepherd. She used to pull hard on the leach, bite the leach and jump when we cross the road and bark at everything e-scooter, people, bikes, runners. People stepped away when passing us. I bought a harness and a muzzle but it was not working. Bastian took the time to listen to us and our difficulties and explain really clearly what we should do and how we should react to have an obedient dog. After a few minutes training, the changes were visible and then all we had to do was to put on practice. I love my dog and so does my 3 kids. Now I am walking my dog really proudly, no pulling, no barking. A total different experience. Thank you Bastian!

Bastian was an absolute star! I had been struggling for over a year walking my lovable pooch. Bastian very quickly explained what leash we should be using and how to get his walking sorted. I was SHOCKED! Literally within 30 seconds he had him walking, engaged, and focused (on him and not every other smell within a km radius). Highly recommend!!!

We’ve got 3 month old puppy (Low chen x Toy poodle) who is high energy and biting and jumping up to get our attention. Bastian has changed his world on the first day when he came to our home. Our puppy learnt boundary within 24 hours by his training. He showed us how to train him, it was very simple and logical. We are very confident how to deal with our puppy now. Meet Bastian, Auckland's resident dog whisperer. We have two older shelter dogs who we love to bits but they came with a few bad habits. After one lesson with Bastian we realised that the dogs weren't so much the problem- we weren't telling them what we need in a way that they understand. They went from pulling on their leads like they wanted to take off to calmly walking on a lead within 20 minutes. In a month we went from having two manic dogs that barked and dug holes in the garden, whom we couldn't trust in our house, to having two calm and happy doggos that we now trust and leave in the house while we're out- without even a second thought. I never expected that the training would be that effective. Bastian is highly recommended and worth every cent!

We couldnt have been happier with the service Bastian offered. He knows what he is talking about. showed us techniques that were very simple and easy to follow. Our dog is so much better since Bastian came around. You need a trainer to come to your home and see the dog in its enviroment. Bastian does that and i highly recommend him. Our dog was very aggressive when people came to the door. we were scared he would bite people. Bastian changed his behaviour. we can now have people over and not worry.

After years of trying and failing to get our three dogs to not go completely mental any time anyone came near the house, Bastian's guidance had our three pooches calmer and less reactive within 24 hours. His is an holistic approach, looking at you and your dog's relationship and how any imbalances can lead to unwanted behaviours from them. Bastian was fantastic with our puppy. He showed us how to crate train him and that solved most of our problems straight away. He also helped with other issues of obedience and walking and made our life real easy real quick. We have a large breed puppy and we were finding it hard to control him and his lack of self awareness. Bastian gave us tools to cope with this including training us to use an e collar. This completely change the way our dog is when we walk him, especially at the dog park. He comes when we call him, aware of us and the whole experience is no longer stressful. At first we were hesitant using an e collar on him, but to see how happy he is with it and being able to have him off lead has made a huge difference. The on going training and socialisation he gets from his weekly pack walks helps to reinforce the training at home. Would highly recommend Bastian both for the one on one training sessions and pack walks!!

Our experience with Bastian was absolutely awesome. His approach is excellent and thanks to Bastian we had our first night in ages without one of our dogs Hooch sleeping on the bed. I have train walked both of our dogs individually twice today and I couldn't believe that these were our dogs, in fact I had to keep checking that there was a dog on the end of the lead. That in itself is mind blowing, considering that Bastian only came yesterday. Bastian you are a miracle worker and we can't thank you enough for teaching/showing us the correct way to communicate with our dogs. I have a 6 month old Samoyed named Smirny, a stubborn young family member, who would pee and poo inside the house, never listen to a command with or without force, only when there was a treat in front of him, almost like bribing him every time. He would pull on the leash very aggressively while walking, and bark to the point where we got a noise complaint and a noise abatement notice. I’ve now done some one on one training and a board and train with Bastian. Honestly, it’s been amazing. Imagine walking a young stubborn pup after a 5 day board and train, who doesn’t pull on the leash, who barks once to let us know he needs to pee, who now always pees and pops outside and looks at us when he needs to go outside. Who listens to my commands, and is getting there with the rest of the family members. I can’t recommended him enough, he is a life saver and in general a good guy, with practical recommendations!

Bastian helped to give us a better understanding of how communication works between dog and owner. He also helped us realize training starts at home and that we need to actually slow down and start from the beginning in order to make progress. In other words, practice our lead work and technique at home and neighborhood before we leap into more stimulating environments. Bastian was able to give us simple and easy methods to walking our dog and how to manage her with a stimulating environment. Bastian saved our sanity and our dog. Under Bastian’s brilliant guidance our dog was transformed from one who could only be exercised at dawn or at night to avoid meeting people (every passer-by was a potential bite victim) to walking down Broadway, Newmarket, on a busy Saturday, through the station, and sitting quietly at cafes without any sign of wanting to lunge, bite or bark at any of the hundreds of people there. Had we not experienced it we would not have believed it possible. That was six months ago. The lessons learned by us and our dog have prevailed. Without hesitation we have already recommended Bastian to everyone who has asked us where our dog learned his manners. Background: our dog was a hyper-reactive rescue from the Auckland council’s Silverdale Animal Shelter. We called him Pax (Peace) in the hope he would grow into his name. Before Bastian he’d had two lots of training with other trainers with limited success. He would still lunge, snarl, air-nip and bite at young/old, male/female, with/without warning, with/without provocation. Not only were exercise times limited by his behaviour, we couldn’t use house-sitters, no kennel we approached north of Hamilton would take him, we couldn’t go away as a family someone always had to stay with the dog. Owning him closed our life down for two and half years. It was a stressful time. We couldn’t understand why a dog with such deep-rooted issues had been re-homed in the first place. Eventually we made the heart-breaking decision to book him on a one-way trip to the vet. As a last resort we invested in a tailored package with Bastian – a short board and train followed by seven one-hour lessons in various scenarios. We have never regretted a cent. We were dubious about using a pinch collar or an e-collar but once we’d been taught how to use these things properly and seeing the result we are converts. Our dog is never in distress; he simply pays attention to us and responds appropriately. We now have a handsome, obedient, docile, family dog with the softest eyes. He finally lives up to his name and is living his best life thanks entirely to Bastian and the K9Way.

Can't recommend Bastian and his approach to dog training enough. With two small children and a very full on Border Terrier Sammie I really hoped we may learn a few things to make life easier but we got so much more than that. After one session and only a few days our lives with Sammie have already changed for the better, and I am enjoying her so much more. We still have a way to go but she is definitely starting to improve and we are finding she seems like a happier more confident dog too. We initially had done puppy training with Sammie but this was so much better- I wouldn't waste my time with again- we will just call Bastian!

We inherited an adult Border Collie who had no training. We love him but he was stressing us out with his hyper activity. He was pulling so hard on the leash that it was getting impossible to walk him. Immediately after the first session with Bastian we were able to get him to obey our commands and respect our space. Bastian suggested a prong collar due to Jessie's excessive pulling and stubbornness on the walk. We were a little sceptical at first but once we realised that the collar doesn't actually hurt him we were fine with it. The result was amazing and now we can take him for a nice walk without feeling like he's going to pull your arm off! Would highly recommend the Gold package, thanks Bastian for all the help.

We have a 10 month old puppy Ruby that quite frankly was ruling the roost. With 5 of us in the household all doing our own version of training & obedience, Miss Ruby was getting away with murder!. From barking at the neighbours, constantly seeking attention and taking over our personal space, bailing up visitors at the door, pulling on the lead, all in all having no boundaries or respect for us. Bastian explained because we weren't in control Ruby was thinking she had to continually look out for us, protect us, and be in control! We can’t recommend Bastian enough, in 3 hours he put us all on the same page, and has restored sanity back into our household. We put Bastian’s rules into practice as soon as he left and although it will take time to get out of the old habits – human and dog - we feel if we keep trying and be consistent we will eventually get the results. Already our dog Ruby is responding to our “new way” in the home and she is slowly realising she does not need to be in charge anymore. Lead walking and recall is still challenging but we are making a bit of progress each time we go out. Thank you Bastian explaining how a dog thinks and how we had to change the way we were doing things to be pack leaders and gain control.

What a difference K9 has made to our dogs behaviour. She has settled down remarkably and we now feel so much more in control with her. We can enjoy the lovely dog she is.
