Excellence driving academy truly are excellent. As an older learner, after years of avoiding getting my restricted license due to fear, Tony and Wendy helped me build my confidence and gain my restricted license in only 5 months. I loved learning the essentials in their off road simulator, giving me a great understanding before we went on the road. Both Wendy and Tony are so knowledgeable, respectful and well humoured, I had fun learning and never felt I couldn't ask questions or go over things. Its a non-shame academy! Driving on the road was an easy transition thanks to the simulator training, and their cars are excellent to learn in. Cannot recommend them highly enough, affordable and live up to their promises. Thank you again, and looking forward to seeing you later in the year to get up to my full license!

When my son, needed to be taught to drive we looked up local driving schools, and came across Excellence Driving Academy. After looking through their website we made the decision to go with them. Right from the start the service from Wendy & Tony was excellent, they started off with a few lessons in their simulator which was great and gave our son the confidence to then get behind the wheel of a car. Once in the car the lessons were planned in such a way that I could take him driving in between giving him further exposure to driving, and I was constantly kept informed of anything we needed to work on. We were also able to use the car my son had, so that when he did the test he used the car he had been doing almost all of his lessons in. It is testimony to their professionalism that they were able to change appointments at short notice due to COVID, or my son being called into work, but especially as my son passed his restricted licence test first time, which is almost unheard of in Palmerston North. Thanks guys and will definitely be calling upon them prior to the full licence test to give my son a few more lessons. Definitely recommend them.

Highly recommend!!! I first made contact with the team at Excellence due to struggling with confidence and anxiety related to driving after several factors resulted in a long-term hiatus from driving. I had contacted other organisations but did not feel that they were able to provide what I needed, however upon speaking with Wendy at Excellence for the first time I immediately felt more at ease about my situation and the pathway to achieving my goals. Practising on the simulator before getting back on-road was integral to helping work through my driving related issues. The team at Excellence are very supportive, and as a client you feel that they are invested in you not as a business transaction but as a whole person. Tony and Christina are fantastic at giving clear instruction and guidance on-road, pairing gentle encouragement with a firm push when needed and sessions are adapted to ones specific needs. Wendy is a scheduling and communication wizard making organising sessions and payment easy (she also booked my drivers test on my behalf). Pick ups and drop offs are available for lessons as well as the test, and their vehicles can be used to complete testing in (very handy!). They can also attend as a support person during testing, which was fantastic as Christina has a very calm soothing nature that helped quell my test-day nervousness. The services provided by Excellence Driving Academy are second to none, very reasonably priced, and great value. Absolutely highly recommend!!!

Unable to get a test slot in Wellington my son opted to sit his Full in Palmy. This was a new area to him and all very last minute. Wendy was quick to respond to my plea for a lesson (needed in the next couple of days) and organised Tony to take him over the course for a Full. Tony was thorough and covered both potential courses pointing out every possible scenario and critiquing my son's driving (mirror checks etc) but all in a relaxed and fun way. I would highly recommend Excellence driving if getting your licence is the plan! Good luck out there everyone - it's not easy!!!!!!

These guys are awesome totally recommend. The simulator really helped me get my confidence up driving. The simulator taught me the risks of what can happen on the road so i wouldn't have to learn them the hard way and just general skills needed. Wendy at the Excellence driving academy made a great difference for our son to be prepared for the Feilding driving test course. We really appreciate Wendy picking up our son from school and taking the time to take him over to Feilding. The course was a slight different route than you practiced but all the major corners and intersections were the same. Today he sat and passed his restricted without faults!

Toni my driving instructor was superb. He was very professional and friendly and taught me everything I needed to pass my full licence exam. My nerves almost got in to me prior to the test, but his assurance and supportive words were enough to keep me going. Communication was also easy and prompt when I booked with them. Would highly recommend Excellence Driving Academy!

The best and most qualified two instructors in the whole Palmerston North are Wendy and Tony!!! From day one the experience with them was amazingly refreshing, starting with the simulator what they own , it was something I never tried it before but now I highly recommend it to anyone. (It can be set up to any weather condition, speed, time of the day and difficulty)The best thing what you can try, also it will give you so much confidence on the road as you already “experienced” certain hard situation on screen and it is built into your memory by the time you get behind the wheel of a real car. (my fear was crashing the car, with the simulator I managed to get over on it however it was an eye-opener when we assessed reaction time and break lengths, you would be shocked too like I was) I know they are very proud of their simulator and they want to show to everyone but I would like to say, THANK YOU to them humans. I met with two special people. Both teach in different ways but they are excellent to find ways to instruct you even if you struggle to remember or if it isn't your first language or you are a nervous wreck like I was at the beginning. They are also the kindest people I ever met and by the end, I believe we became friends. I'm thankful for all the patience, care and advice that I got from them without it I would not make it. Now the first in my family, I have my driving licence and I'm so proud of it because I know how hard we all worked to get to it. Once again thank you.

At first, I found driving to be terrifying and stressful. I did not want to drive out of the road straight away. After doing my research and searching for a suitable driving school for me, I have come across Excellence Driving's website. What caught my attention is their combination of simulator and road training. Most pilots train or learn to fly planes using a flight simulator. I think that a driving simulator is great tool to use as it provides a more comfortable setting and lets you experience different unique situations. It also help alleviate my stress while learning in the process. Tony, who is simply the best driving instructor I could ever ask for, not only showed me the how to's but he also explained the why's. Then I had the road training and was surprised how much I was able to improve in a short period of time. Under Tony’s calm personalized one-on-one instruction and support, I received the best training and finally reached that milestone today. I just passed my driving test on the first try and I owe my success to Excellence Driving. 100% highly recommended!
