Ian is a great guy and great driving instructor who is able to build a real rapport and trust with his students. Very glad to have used his services, and impressed with how he goes the extra mile. Both kids love him and now have their restricted licenses - thanks Ian!

After holding my learners license for over 15 years Ian helped me to gain the confidence and skill I required to pass my restricted test. Ian was calm and patient which put me at ease behind the wheel. Would highly recommend No Clutch Driver Training and Ian to anyone who is learning to drive, especially those who have been putting it off due to nerves.

Ian is a fantastic teacher. I was an older learner with zero driving experience and a boat load of nerves. He is extremely calm, clear and encouraging and understood my anxiety. Would recommend him to anyone learning to drive. He won't just teach you to pass the test but to also be a competent, safe and confident driver. He's also a good laugh which helps with those nerves no end!

I used Ian's services to prepare for my restricted license test, and found his teaching and advice very easy to understand. He taught me not only how to pass the test, but also lifelong driving skills. Thanks Ian.

Ian was great! He’s friendly, stays calm and is great at keeping nerves to a minimum. He was able to help me learn all the skills I needed to get my restricted and thanks to him I passed first try! I would definitely recommend Ian to anyone who’s learning to drive, anyone needing to fine tune their skills or if you’re an anxious driver, Ian is the guy for you!

Ian was awesome! I was told that before my restricted license test that I should do at least one lesson with Ian to find all the things I need to work on surely enough he picked up on all my bad habits I needed to work on which resulted in me passing my test first try! Ian was helpful and efficient with his communication, he knew what he was doing (obviously) and helped me to relax more when driving. 10/10 from me though and I'd totally recommend him to anyone else!

I booked 7 driving lessons with Ian as I didn't have much experience in driving. He helped me stay calm in scary situations that I had never been in before. He was patient and always made sure I understood what I was doing before I did it. Always was happy to see me and it was never awkward in the car while driving. Because of Ian I passed my restricted licence on the first try!

Ian is a great driving instructor and I would highly recommend! He made me feel extremely comfortable, with his chatty and friendly personality contributing to that. Since I first booked my lessons with Ian until I got my restricted everything went smoothly and easy! I'm so glad I took my lessons with him. Ian knows how to make you feel comfortable and understands how nervous we usually are on our Learner's. So he would just explain and point things out in a very nice and friendly manner that helps you relax a little bit. He's also very easy to talk to so we would not only talk about my doubts or questions about my driving but also about anything else! I was never bored :) Ian thank you so much for your patience and for teaching me how to be a good driver!

I booked Ian for several lessons after getting many recommendations from colleagues at work. I can easily see why he has so many enthusiastic fans! The sessions didn't really feel like lessons so much as going on a fun drive around town with a friend who REALLY cares about improving your driving (in a nice way). Ian's patient and clear instructions still echo in my head as I'm driving and definitely got me up to speed for what I needed to pass my practical exam. Top recommendation!

I had over 5 lessons with Ian from No Clutch Driver Training before going for my restricted license, and each one made me feel more and more confident leading up to my test. Ian was great at communicating before and during the lessons, giving me important tips on improving all areas of my driving ability (parallel parks, three point turns etc). I also felt very comfortable in the car with Ian as his friendly and helpful demeanor made me feel very confident being out on the road. I would recommend No Clutch Driver Training to anyone who is wanting to gain a lot of knowledge and confidence before sitting their test, as it will make sitting you're restricted feel a lot easier as it did for me!

10/10 for Ian 🥳🥳 He is such a great teacher, and I’d recommend him to anyone! I managed to pass my restricted first go (phew!), Ian was super great at helping with nerves and teaching me all the bits that I wouldn’t have been able to get from just my parents. Super super cool guy too, great chats and always nice and chill!

Ian is a great driving instructor and helped me get over my fears with driving, along with being very friendly and helped me with all the required skills to get my Restricted on my first try. Highly recommend to anyone who has nerves when it comes to driving and being on the road.

I booked Ian to help my daughter get her restricted license. Ian was brilliant. I found him professional, helpful, reliable and very communicative to help me help with my daughter's practice points. Ian is a great driving instructor. I had about 10 lessons with him and every time I was with him he made me feel comfortable and calm while driving. Ian is extremely patient and gives great tips and feedback. Would definitely recommend!

Ian is absolutely the best driving instructor I've had. I have failed a few tests in my time due to nerves, and was a bundle of anxiety about doing the test again but passed after a few months of lessons with Ian. He manages to push you out of your comfort zone whilst still making you feel a ease. Cannot recommend more highly.

Ian is by far the best driving instructor. He is always calm and creates the best environment for learner drivers. He is clear and concise. For someone who was fearful of driving, and sat on their learners for three years, these lessons helped me that now I am on a restricted. He also doesn't just teach you for your restricted he will teach you to drive, making you feel confident and calm on the road. I 100% recommend, he is kind, very great for nervous drivers.

As a mature anxious driver I enlisted the help of Ian to help me become a more confident and competent driver. We had a few lessons to prepare for the full licence test. I'm delighted that today I passed with no errors. Ian covered all bases when preparing for the test. If you suffer from nerves or you are an anxious person then Ian is the perfect choice. Ian is a 10/10 driving instructor, I had him from the beginning of my driving to getting my restricted. He’s super great and I found it easy to learn to drive with him. Got great tips that I will always remember to do while driving now. He’s super invested in wanting his students to pass, and you are guaranteed to have some good banter while driving too.

Ian was brilliant. We purchased the 5 Lessons package. It was money well spent. Ian helped me and my partner get our driving confidence back. He was patient and understanding. As an adult learner driver, this was important. Ian made sure we familiarise ourselves with the restricted licence test route in Wellington city. I will recommend No Clutch Driver Training to all adult learner drivers.

I was a very nervous driver before coming to Ian... He made me feel comfortable and safe! Always got a smile on his face and very chatty, I am a much more confident and better driver, his aim is not to pass the driving test but to make you a safe and better driver which is so much more important than just passing the test. Highly recommend 😊

I didn't really know Ian when I started having lessons with him. Ian helped me to get back into driving as I hadn’t done it for many years and I needed to pass the driving test. He is very patient, helpful and he always answered the questions I had about traffic signs, driving tips and how a car works. Ian is a super awesome instructor! He'll be there with you from the beginning till the end. He would give you lots of advice for driving, all the tips, all the "how to", and know about your car as well. Highly recommend for everyone who want to learn to drive or refining their driving skill.

Highly recommend Ian to anyone wanting to learn to drive/build up their confidence on the road. I started off lessons with Ian with pretty much zero driving experience (at 24!) and the thought of driving quite frankly, made me extremely anxious! After a 1-2 lessons of driving through a car park Ian built up my confidence to go on the road - something i assumed would take me much longer than this. Then before i knew it i was reverse parallel parking and driving on the motorway. Ian's patience, friendless and over all instructions definitely made it a lot easier for me. After 2 months of a few lessons a week iI went and sat my restricted in Wellington city and passed on the first go, something I am very proud of. Thank you Ian!

Lan is a professional, patient and helpful driving instructor. I was taught by him for totally over 10 hours. Now I am driving on my own to work. I high recommend Lan to everyone who wants to learn driving.

I have anxiety. This made learning to drive difficult. I would worry about my driving and others on the road. I made a lot of mistakes. Ian helped me through this and helped my confidence build. After all the lessons I had with him I passed my resricted. He is very patient, understanding and instructive.
