Ari and Alice were prompt, courteous and so helpful in organising our 10 year wedding anniversary. We provided our ideas/thoughts and on arrival on the day, they exceeded our expectations. It was magical. I am so appreciative of everyone who made our day so special.
The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly.
Location is ideal for those living in South Auckland.

p.My husband and I could not have picked a better place to have our wedding reception! We had the best wedding reception ever and we can’t thank the Manukau Event Centre enough for all of their help along the way! Ari and all of the staff there were amazing and super helpful with everything. Ari was very responsive through email and phone calls for my many questions, she made the venue available for us on multiple occasions to visit as part of the planning process and she knew exactly what to do, when, and how to do it. They made the process, and the day itself, run like a well oiled machine. On the day of, they had already set up our decorations many hours in advance, exactly as we had asked for them to be arranged, and they ran everything on time and smoothly, so that we could enjoy the day. The venue was gorgeous, the guests loved the food (big portions, and tasty!), and everyone was helpful. I can’t recommend it highly enough! We absolutely love it there and are so thankful to Manukau Event Centre who made our wedding reception day extra special!!!“

A.Attended a wedding over the weekend, was blown away. Great setup and very clean premise. The staff were extremely helpful and multiple people looked after our table throughout the night. Buffet opened on time and the food was amazing and alot. A very warm and friendly environment, look forward to coming back in the near future.

A.We attended the wedding of one of my friend. The venue is just awesome, spacious and can accommodate more than 150 people at a time. The food was awesome and so is the service. Limited car park in the area and most of it is off road, this is the only downside of this place.
E.I had my 21st birthday at this amazing venue, even though the price is a bit high. It is well worth it, all meetings and payments were very professional, they made sure that we understood everything that came with our packages we picked! The staff was friendly and helpful to my guest of the day. The venue made my 21st birthday look like a wedding. The food was amazing, wasn’t bland full of flavours! I highly recommend this venue for your upcoming events
M.We recently celebrated our son's 21st birthday, and were quite particular with selecting a venue for it. We spent a few weekends attending viewing of places! So blessed that we came across this GEM, so unassuming from the outside...and then you step inside and become mesmerized. But of course aesthetics isn't everything - because the support and service we received was exceptional and was the icing on the cake. Thank you MEC, for making such a milestone a memorable one. M.Very impressed with the venue but more impressed with the staff who were on their feet clearing tables, cleaning floors and demonstrating professionalism throughout. Food preparation was great too. Thoroughly enjoyed my time here for a wedding.

You have been very helpful and understanding especially when the Wedding date changed 3 times due to Covid . It was a perfect place to hold the reception and the occasion made us forget the difficult times we had before this.

M.Ryan I just wanted to flick you an email to say thank you to you & your team for such an awesome evening. It really would not have been possible without you all, the evening went off without a hitch & was just so free flowing even though “we” started a little late the evening still flowed which was such a success.
I have had a lot of great feedback on how excellent the food was & normally when you see “hot chocolate brownie” on a menu it’s normally cold by the time you get it but yours really were still hot fresh from the oven, such a small thing but the different it made was awesome.
The decor was amazing so fresh & so elegant I was honestly in awe of how it all looked & our guests loved it all too.
From my family to your MEC family thank you so much for the excellent service, for the trouble free communication and just working with us on our final numbers in these unusual times.

M.Professional, good quality and value for money. We hosted family and friends for our Mum's 80th on Monday 30th November in Studio 15 of MEC, leading upto and during our function staff were attentive and responsive to all our needs. Thank you Alice for yr detailed oversight prior to our function - the decorations were beautiful, the room looked amazing. A special Thanks to Neha and staff who worked on the night ensuring that our event was a success. Food was absolutely delicious and the service was great. L.Awesome place they have different varieties of food and designs that will not disappoint you in your wedding or 21st celebration or any other occasion. It's worth it. Very clean environment and staffs are very friendly including the Manager he is awesome.

Neha was such a pleasure to work with. She was calm, collected, articulate and went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly and as per schedule on the day. She had a yes attitude and ensured that all our needs were met without any hesitation.
The venue is deceptive from the outside but as soon as you enter, it is very well appointed, beautiful set up and decor, excellent chef with great food that catered to all our needs. Overall very happy and highly recommend!
N.My family and I hired MEC for my daughters 21st just recently and we are just so overwhelmed with their service.
Aree and Alice were the best, to be honest I was probably the over doing it client. I truly wanted the best for my daughter and I got nothing but the best. They tolerated my demands and my wants and made it happen for myself and my family.
They went over the moon, or actually over the galaxy to make my daughters birthday happen to what I wanted.

D.What a beautiful place to host a wedding. The service was quick. Alot of room for dancing.. The dance floor was a good size! The bar was like a pop up bar but just the right set up and situated in the right area. The bathrooms were immaculate not only the interior design but as venue most places tend to forget that this still needs attention so def had that covered as well! Food was plentiful and would def recommend this place!

K.My cousin had his wedding reception here on a Monday, yes a Monday lol and it was beautiful.. we parked up thinking “why would anyone wanna have their reception here” then once we walked through the doors... BAM! The decorations, layout of everything then came the food, OMG the food 🤤 the first function I’ve been to and I’ve gone up 3 times to eat lol! And trust me, I don’t eat much but the food was so good! 🤤 food was always filled every time I went up 🙌🏼 I don’t know how people gave 1–4 stars but this place definitely deserved a 5 star esp being out in South Auckland (I live in S/A so please don’t come at me lol) would definitely be booking any future functions here 😊

B.Had a family wedding here about 100-120 guests. Good location. Staff were very professional and had no issues throughout the whole day. Also venue had ample parking. Overall myself and my family had a great day here
L.Beautiful venue - with everything you can think of. Large and spacious, setup and decorations were beautiful and parking was a bonus. Food was plentiful.

K.Well positioned in the industrial area of Papatoetoe / Manukau to cater for wedding & party functions where noise maybe an issue. Ample off road parking.
I.It's okay probably needs to have a bigger dance floor and needs to be a bit more organised everything seemed to be a little slow. Microphones took ages to get when it should be ready before guests started to arrive. Refilling buffet took a while too. Other than that nice place for small functions of maybe 200 guests ...
M.Nice set up, once you get inside. It's like a hidden Oasis. It's alright, if it works with what you want or need it for. We couldn't find parking, parked on the street next to broken window class, dodgy? Our car was safe afterall. The communication with the male staff was sometimes a language barrier, that's what I put it down to. When we arrived the bartender told me to wait 10 minutes for the bar tab to open, or at least until the family (bride & groom) arrived, otherwise we had to pay. Then the waitress came along and said to go to the bartender and put our orders through. I was confused since he'd just told me to wait 10mins. That was possibly her plan devised, to get us to go up anyway and pay lol! Who knows? Late a waiter came by and we were only asking him a question, if we could get a jug of fizzy from the bar. He took us literally and told us to go get it from the bar. He thought we were asking him to actually go get us the jug, which we weren't. Sorted, hubby went up and asked and no they don't. Sigh... then the waitress cleared everyone's used plates from our table and told my husband and I that she'd come back. She didn't so I asked the waiter to take them. There were no knives when we went to eat, we had to tell the waitres and she brought our whole table, x10, knives. When we went for dessert there were no spoons lol??!! Eventually someone told the staff and the whole spoons case was brought out. If you like fake flowers and over the top table decorations and massive ugly chandeliers dangling from the ceiling then you'll love this place. The food however was my highlight, next to the great company lol... which doesn't come with MEC haha! It was clean but just a strange location and poor or hardly any parking.

We drove down the back, there was a different party/group event happening down there. My husband didn't feel it was secure or safe parking it back there.

The funniest (of course said with sarcasm) or should I say the saddest was when the waitress came to our table, kind of towards the end of the night and told the waiter to remove one of the jugs of water from our table... WTH??!!!!!!!
Apparently there is only meant to be ONE jug of water per table 😳😳😳
Seriously, the tables are quite massive with 10 people seated around it. Unless you want to keep asking each person to pass the jug of water, put 2 jugs of water on the table MEC management and stop being so stingy!
We don't drink alcohol and I don't drink fizzy or juice so water I appreciate and I don't plan on passing a huge jug of water around all night.
Definitely a 3 rating... and that's me being polite, I actually would of given a 2!!
So don't try bully me into changing the rating. I tell it like it is, may be you need to work harder on your staff and service to receive a better or higher rating. Also don't make it sound like I'm disrespecting the bride either. This is a review and I've given a break down of what happened. If you don't like it, fix it.
Obviously receiving constructive criticism is not one of your strengths.

M.Excellent wedding venue. Have been to many weddings including my own at this venue. They do delicious in-house food catering. Hall setup and stage decorations always on point!
M.Was good settings but seatings tables should not be too close to each other for health and safety reasons.
