Our instructor was a hard case, taught us the right technique - and had a laugh doing it.
It took a few throws to figure it all out, but then we were away laughing.
Really good fun, that I can imagine everyone would enjoy.

I always felt safe, never rushed. Doing a competition with friends was great because it brought structure to the experience, while still giving everyone lots of throwing time. 10/10 I will be coming back

C.We booked a group spot so had a lane to ourselves. Super easy to book and we were blown away with the whole experience. Brit was our axepert for the hour and showed us the ropes. She managed to get a bit of rivalry going and gave us easy throwing instructions that got us going. She was amazing - great sense of humour. Highly recommend doing this!

R.Woowwww. This place is fun. Went there for team event as Christmas party. 11 of us. None of us had any previous experience with axe throwing. But the sweet axe team is so friendly and teach all the basics to enjoy the time there. One of my colleagues even took the membership at the end. Everybody enjoyed the place and would like to go there again. Sorry that I did not remember the staff names. But everyone is so professional and friendly at the same time. Thank you Sweet Axe team.

I.I had a friend go here a few times who really enjoyed it so she got a group of us to go along with her last weekend and it was awesome! Most of us were new to axe throwing but the staff walked us through doing it safely.
We started throwing axes two people at a time for several throws each to get the techniques down (two and one-handed). After a few rounds of that, we split into teams and had competitions. During the whole process, the staff were friendly, enthusiastic and gave us tips on how to improve. It was a really fun experience and would be good for a group activity.
J.Had Brit as an instructor, she was hilarious and insightful, really helped my technique. All my friends had a great time, we'll definitely be back. My girlfriend still beat me though 😂

R.Want some fun? Need to let off steam? Then this is the place to go. Sweet Axe Throwing will walk you through the process, with style and aplomb, so that at the end of your session you will have hit the bullseye at least once, maybe even twice. The staff are fantastic and very knowledgeable, it was my first time throwing, and thanks to Lloyd I had it up and running within 20 or so throws. This is definitely a group session activity, however the locals were friendly and even let me throw a game or two with them. Monday nights are league nights, for those that wish to get serious and see who's the best of the best. The atmosphere is lively so if you're up for it , grab an axe and try and get the sweet spot.

A.So much fun, my advice is to leave your ego at the door but bring your humor and competitiveness.
x.Me and my friends went there and even though it took a while for us to get the hang of it, the person with us, Brit, was really patient and made the entire experience that much more enjoyable. Will definately be back!

a.Had an amazing night at the Auckland site. It was my husband’s birthday so 8 family members attended. Our instructor was Remi and he was very professional but insured we all had fun ‘he was ace!

C.We recently visited as part of a work birthday party for a group of 8 of us and it exceeded my expectations. Remy was our friendly and knowledgeable axe-pert who didn't mind our banter and got us through safely with everyone consistently scoring well.
It's a cool environment, we got plenty of throws in each (probably 50+ in a 2 hour period) and I'd definitely recommend it for a stag do, corporate do or just a group of mates who need to let out some aggression.
It would be good to have a few side games that people can play when they are not throwing - such as Hammerschlagen would be ideal. Could also benefit from having a couple of beers but understandable that the licence would be a challenge with the council.
T.I could not recommend this place enough! it was worth every cent. We had so much fun! this could quite possibly become a new addictive weekend hobby. We will definitely be back! Thanks so much to Remy for introducing us to this amazing sport you were amazing :) we hope to be back very soon!

P.What a unique experience! I was apprehensive before going but was very quickly put at ease by the high level of safety for all - instructors, participants and spectators. Our facilitator, Britt, was brilliant. Her instructions were clear and she gave tips for us to improve our throws during the session. Her humour, positivity and encouragement ensured that we all had a fun time as she took our group through a “tournament”. Anyone looking for a different, fun evening out should definitely consider axe throwing. Best to go in a group and wear closed shoes!

A.An unexpectedly addictive activity! I left here wanting more time to practice my axe throwing skills (and thinking of ways to put together my own setup in the backyard). Adam was an enthusiastic host and explained (not really demonstrating) the nuances of embedding axes into wood with some accuracy while maintaining score for our group.

I.Great place and the staff are awesome.throwing looks easy but there is a skill at throwing the axe so by the end of the session you do get the hang of it and with a straight arm and body movement and a bit of strength behind it I give it a 10/10.

E.This place is like walking into a second home. The staff are lovely, enthusiastic, and very helpful. I feel like a badass Viking and it's the coolest hobby I have. It's great for everything from hens and stag dos to birthdays and fundraising events. With a mobile kit they can come to events too. The owners are apapproachable, and very quick to reply.
