M.The Mighty River Domain is a fabulous spot, with easy access to Lake Karapiro. The camp itself has good facilities although some of it is a bit run down. Neither of the hand dryers in the lower mens toilets worked, nor the interior lights during the night. One of the hand dryers in the ladies also didn't work. One of the ovens in the shared kitchen just didn't heat. Over the long Waitangi weekend the cleaning also seemed to not happen on the public holiday when the camp was at its busiest?! We had some concerns about access controls and did notice that people seemed to be able to enter without being properly checked for vaccine passes. On the positive side the staff were very friendly and helpful. Fantastic location almost made up for the issues though and the pricing is reasonable.
k.A big sheltered park-like grounds with good amenities. Great outlook across the lake ,and with water access . It was a nice stopover with very few there when we stayed .

A.We had a wonderful stay with kids. We stayed in the cabins/challet in November and it was nice for a rainy day, has bunk beds. We stayed in tents recently and the facilities are so clean, well looked after place. The kids playground is nice too. Beautiful on a sunny day!

The lake is spectacular for paddling - best to get out in the morning while the rowers are training and before the power boats kick off.
G.The camp site it’s nicely located next to a dam and lake, there it’s water sports mostly happening throughout the day so can be little noisy with speed boats, there was some going on when we arrived.
There is also none powered and powered sites for your campers or if you were camping. Reasonable priced also.
They have clean showers and washing Machine and dryers on hand. Also a cooking cabin and chill out area.
C.Awesome big camp, plenty of room and loads to do for the family and friends! Great service and clean toilets,showers. Swimming, kayaking,water skiing,jet boating,large play area for children. 🤗👌
K.Call it a camp site is an understatement. The chalets are tidy, clean and well maintained. The heater is good as we asked the staff to turn it on before we check in. The kitchen has all your need plus a self serving coin washing machine. The hot water was fantastic. There are 4 bunk beds with mattress in each room. The environment was beautiful with lake view and large grass area. There is a playground which is very popular for the kids. The Podium Cafe is worth trying.
B.Superb facilities all round. great camping experience, and such a playground to wander around. Second time here, cant recommend highlay enough..
A.Stunning beauty of a Lake! Food, drinks, park, toilets, water activities, sporting events, camping, mint scenery, tidy grounds & amenities, stella atmosphere! what's not to like about it? Kids love the slides & even some adults. Highly recommend if you're passing through cambridge. Dont forget about wee Karapiro not far off the track.

F.What a great location for a cycling event. We cheerfully completed the Event Promotions Karapiro Flyer then enjoyed the prize giving at the Domain while the rowing went on in the background. Great area to picnic or rest if driving North too.
A.Such a cool place, closer to home than I thought. Slide, playground, watersports, cafe. Lovely big shady trees. Great place.
M.Beautiful place a little off the track and traffic, nice kitchen and bathrooms although the women's shower drain wasn't working that well. There was supposed to be a place for swimming but it was not the nicest as it was just by the pontoons where they drop down the rowing boats and the lake water was not that nice either, but all in all an ok place for the night.
T.Not the best experience. The lady at the reception was great and helpful, and I really appreciate the service. The facilities looked new and of high quality, but they could be applied so much better. OK here we go. You want to save water and our precious energy. I get it, and I'm all FOR it. But surely there are better ways to do this than a motion sensing shower. The female bathroom has no light switches, but a sensor light. During my 10-min shower, the light turned off FIVE times. OH and it gets better. Moving around in your shower doesn't count as 'moving' to the sensor apparently, so I had to literally walk out of the shower, completely naked, freezing, with soap or water on my body, and move like stupid to get the light back on. Meanwhile, the precious water cannot be turned off, because you can only turn it on to get around 2 mins of water. When I was putting soap on me, putting shampoo on me, or storming out to get the light back on, the water won't turn off. And when I actually need the water to rinse myself, the water refuses to turn on. I could have taken a 5 min shower, but the stupid system took me more than 15 mins. Meanwhile, my friend, who has finished shower and was putting his clothes back on, got wet all of a sudden because the water 'sensed' his existence. I strongly doubt how much water and electricity this system will save, but it definitely left me the worst shower experience. You guys have such a lovely place and great facilities. Use it wisely!

L.Booking made easy with Louise extremely helpful on phone . Lovely stay, Staff very accommodating with us changing sites giving us a nice view to wake up to. Rubbish collected each day. Thank you Louise, Karl and others .

T.Great area on top off a hill with a nice overview over the water. Great for kids and lot's of stuff to do. Just outside is a very nice playground and bring your bikes or skateboard!!
