P.We visited a lot of venues in the Auckland region and it wasn’t until my partner flew over Kawakawa Bay that we realised there was a venue out East we hadn’t yet seen. We booked a visit with Amanda back in May 2019 and as we drove up and saw the view and the venue we were both sold! The venue has an amazing framework for you to set up the wedding of your dreams. The food is outstanding and the staff is amazing! I dealt with Ollie and Danica quite a bit in 2020 and 2021 with the postponement and they were excellent to work with and made us feel at ease at all times.
As amazing as the venue and layout is, the food out here is outstanding! They do annual tastings for new menus the following year and if you’ve booked in with these guys I would recommend going to that event for tastings of the new menu! We loved it. You can choose between buffet style or set menus. We went with the set menu option, and we chose the following:
Canapes:
- Parmesan custard, prosciutto, brioche
- Seared venison, date puree, juniper salt
- Clevedon Oysters, natural & merlot mignonette
- Buttermilk, popcorn chicken, chipotle aioli
Entree:
- Canter Valley Duck Breast w pickled prune, fennel and savoy cabbage
Mains:
- Aged Grass Fed Eye Fillet w smoked parsnip, mushroom, sherry vinegar and pinot jus or;
- Hawkes Bay Organic Chicken w pork culatello, lemon butter and rosemary
Dessert: Wedding cake served as dessert with petit fours
The event manager will send you a list of options which makes it easy for you as a couple to make it personalised.
They arrange coaches for your guests and you can decide on pick up and drop off! Such a seamless experience.
M.We were so lucky to have our wedding at Kauri Bay Boomrock. The team is so accommodating & absolutely incredible to work with. Their professionalism, communication & amazing food made the experience so easy & enjoyable. I couldn't recommend Kauri Bay Boomrock enough. We have also done their Clay Bird Shooting open days & winter dinners, the food is delightful!
C.Beautiful wedding venue overlooking the sea! Delicious food and a gorgeous atmosphere for a wedding! We loved attending our friend's beautiful wedding!
You do have to take their bus to get to and from the venue rather than using your own transport and we were seated on a bench which was hard to get in and out of in a long dress.
A.My best friend recently got married here and the ground and staff were phenomenal. Craig, in particular, was undoubtedly ready to look after our group. To provide example, my wife said to me "I don't think I have enough drink to finish these speeches" and without being within earshot range, Craig was there with another drink before we xould ask. Incredible venue, incredible views, incredible food. 10/10

Just needs better signage at the road in advance of the main entrance so you don't shoot past the first time you visit
R.KBB is certainly one of the more premier wedding venues in Auckland. Arrive by chopper to a view that you will never get tired of and this makes photographing wedding's there a dream. The main building is pure class and the food is outstanding.
L.What an amazing place! The view is breath taking. The staff is so kind and friendly, and the food is really good as well. My company had a team building here, and I can ensure that we all had a lot fun. Highly recommended!
D.One of the most stunning venues on the mainland, it's a real highlight when we get to go here with our photo booth - the set up and decor is a perfect match, and we notice every time how excellent the staff are at looking after everybody. A top notch venue, for sure!

Throughout the week the staff were very attentive and accommodating as we had a mixture of weather.
The food was consistent and the private dinner we had one night was delicious.

A.Incredible! Great place, brilliant staff
F.Great setting. Fantastic views. Quiet private location in the hills on a farm overlooking Tamaki Strait and Waiheke yet not far from Auckland. They did an excellent job of a table service lunch with very good food for around 80 people and we all know how bad or confused those can be. There were a few activities such as a golf driving tee and baggo game for those wanting to be a little more active. A really good spot for a wedding or group function. A pleasant surprise all round.
L.We had our wedding here and the whole experience was phenomenal. The planning, views, food, venue, all first class. A couple of issues on the day - but it was dealt with calmly and professionally by the team at KBB. Couldn’t recommend them more and hope to visit again soon!!

The location of the place is stunning and the views to die for.
The wedding we were attending as well, went off well, but the quality of food was married because it was too cold, not seasoned adequately and lacking in flavour. The home made bread rolls with fennel seeds we're very nice , though strangely they were not refilled .the dinner plates were cold, proteins were cold and all accompaniments as well.
In the petit fours, the bienenstitch was decent as was the chocolate delice.
Service was top notch, and food could have been if it had been 30 degrees hotter .

Amanda McKay (our coordinator from KBB) was so great to deal with. She was incredibly professional, caring and went above and beyond for us. This venue is unbelievable in both its appearance and its staff. Thank you KBB for making the wedding of my dreams come true! I highly recommend this as a venue for any occasion.

Oli and his team have designed a world-class facility on a stunning property that will impress not just kiwi locals but those visiting from abroad wanting a taste of a true New Zealand rural paradise! After a day of double barrels (and a few double zeros!) a beer at the lodge soaking in the view of the bay from the infinity lawn is the perfect finish! Go the flurries!!
