L.A nice venue, the sunday lunch caters for all dietary requirements- there is something for everyone. Everything nicely cooked and staff clear dishes routinely off the tables to keep it all running smoothly and not cluttered. Great communication from the team from point of booking to the booked date. Great outdoor area for the kids to play.
G.First time for lunch at this lovely venue. We were assigned tables with no sun protection on a hot day so had to move but staff were great and food tasty. I felt the platter should have been served first not last at 2pm when we were informed we should vacate for an incoming wedding party

Service was exceptionally great, bearly saw the staff yet tables were all kept clear and water always topped up. All in all a fabulous evening and location.
L.What an incredible experience we had at the Vilagrads Sunday buffet lunch. The environment was beautiful, food absolutely delicious and the customer service was above and beyond anything I would have ever expected with a full house. No ask was too much and the team made sure everyone was well looked after. The Pinot Gris was one of the best I have ever had. The kids loved the playground and it was a real asset when dining with children. I would highly recommend and we are already planning our next visit 😊 thanks so much!
K.We had a very enjoyable lunch at Vilagrad today. We chose an outside table with lovely views over the vineyards. A very warm welcome by the winemaker and friendly service by Lana our waiter. The sourdough pizzas and Sauvignon Blanc were absolutely delicious. The playground kept the kids occupied while the adults enjoyed the wine tasting. We will be back again!
M.Awesome venue for a wedding! Plus they have an accomodation within the venue which is very convenient for the couple. Staff are friendly. Food is awesome especially for guests with dietary requirements. Their wine is also a plus point! We highly recommend Vilagrad Winery😀
K.What a lovely, lovely place! My husband and I stumbled upon this beautiful winery just as their Sunday brunch was wrapping up. Not only did they welcome us to join them, but they brought out each course for us! Leanne was so kind and welcoming. Adam, one of the chefs and fourth generation of this family-owned winery explained each dish to us and thanked us for coming. The food was AMAZING. Such different and unique flavors that blew us away! The fish and the lamb were fabulous! Pairing this feast with their delightful wine (grown from grapes on their property) made for one of our favorite afternoons on this holiday! We sat outside in the sun listening to the many children running and playing around the playground. We can not recommend this winery enough! Family-owned, incredibly welcoming, delicious food and drink all overlooking a beautiful scene. Do not miss this gem!

Relaxing atmosphere occasionally broken by the harmonious rendition of Happy Birthday. Beautiful day, excellent service, and appreciated, thankyou. I'll be back.

Selected range of wines, without alcoholic beverages and food. Extremely clean. Crossed by nature like from a fairy tale. Play area for children ... Hosts very professional and pleasant. Just WOW.

R.it was my first time visiting New Zealand and i was eager to go to a winery, but at a fairly good price. Vilagrad had a Sunday Brunch special that was too good to be true! My overall experience was unforgettable. The scenery, the food, the delicious wine and the hospitality that was shown was phenomenal. It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with family and friends!
J.We had a great time at Vilagrad! We pulled up about an hour before their posted closing time of 4pm without a reservation. Despite there being 8 of us and then dealing with an event happening in one of the private rooms they accommodated us and treated us like family! The wine tastings are great fun and a great opportunity to learn about the unique wines from the region.
M.We went for Sunday buffet lunch. Lovely atmosphere and venue. Food was realy good once we got to eat it. But I have given 3 stars because the process of getting the food. Food starts being served at 1pm and we didn't get to line up for 45mins. Of course there needs to be some sort of order but thats far too long. Everyone in our group was extremely hungry by then. People were going up for seconds by the time they allowed our table to go up.
L.Stopped by on a spur and had a lovely wine tasting with Amy! This winery is 5th generation and quite a sight. Lots of vines running through the archways makes for a stunning look. The open space inside the winery is vast. They were setting up for a wedding while I was there. Great outdoor play space for kids and one of the best charcuterie plates I’ve ever had! If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of their German Shepard cruising through the grape vines or kicking up a cloud of dust in the corn field. My favorite was their Chardonnay Pinot Noir Bubbly. Any pulled out an umbrella for me and I enjoyed a wonderful breeze and the great views. Worth an afternoon stop for sure!
T.We went there for the Sunday Buffet Lunch Lovely rustic surroundings with the choice of indoor or outdoor dining The food was delicious The spit roast lamb and pork were succulent The various salads, roast potatoes, chips, gorgeous fresh vegetables and matching sauces were amazing Then we had the melt in your mouth baked whole snapper Wow So fresh The desserts to finish off were delicious Free coffee to wash it all down A couple of vinos The perfect midday experience Highly recommend this venue
R.Amazing food, can definitely recommend. We went to a wedding there and the food for the main was absolutely exceptional, the platters that were brought around at cocktail hour were incredible, the owners are so friendly and think of every detail. Have also been there for a casual lunch and dinner at other times and again lovely delish food, such a great atmosphere aswell, definitely a must visit.

G.I have been going to Vilagrad Winery for the past 15 years and always find it enjoyable and a great place to take overseas guests. My friends still talk about the great experience dining there. I'm taking my friend from the states who has requested for the 3rd time to have Sunday lunch at Vilagrads, it's always on his "must do" list when in NZ.

P.We did a wine tasting tour as part of a birthday celebration this weekend. It was a cold and rainy day but we had heaters and blankets to keep us cosy. It wasn't busy today but that didn't seem to bother us. Vilagrad is a beautiful facility and the platters with our tasting was DIVINE!
Jacob was our host and he was awesome to deal with. We learned a little of the history of Vilagrad and the process of winemaking. It was both insightful and enjoyable.
Thanks for teaching us the art of wine drinking. I think we all feel like pros now 😀

M.I have been to Vilagrad a number of times for various occasions. I recently went there for a friend's wedding. There was something quite different about going there for a wedding. The place really looked amazing and the table settings were beautiful. I was so impressed with the staff, the wine and (of course) the food. Toward the end of the evening, my friend (the bride) was given a photo album from the owner and the photos were gorgeous! I can't believe they can make an album in a few hours and have it ready for the couple to take away. I would definitely recommend Vilagrad as a wedding venue (or for Sunday lunch, or for a work function, or for the wine...)

We stayed in the Delux suite (after being upgraded from the Master suite). The room was excellent, recently furnished with a great shower room.
The views across the vineyard were great as were the outdoor hot tub and the continental breakfast hamper.
The only comment we'd have is the lack of storage if you're planning on staying for more than a day or two.

Y.We recently ate at Vilagrad for Sunday lunch for Fathers Day. It was amazing - the food was so delicious and well cooked - melt in your mouth lamb, beautiful whole snapper and the salads were so fresh. It was so nice to make the most of the nice weather and enjoy a glass of wine outside in their beautiful court yard. So relaxing. I would recommend Vilagrad to anyone thinking about, and I can't wait to go back (trying to talk my husband into having his Christmas function there). A must visit for everyone.

M.I went to Vilagrad Winery for lunch today with a group, and had the unfortunate experience of while being at the buffet having to listen to the person who was cutting up the meat complain and blasphem about people who didn't say thank you and how f......g tired he was and didn't see his family etc. The people who were around me really felt upset by this, and as we said, we could understand why people didn't say thank you with his attitude. We did ask a waitress who he was to be told he was one of the sons of the owners.
The food was nice but this certainly put a damper on our afternoon as we felt we had paid good money for this and didn't need to be subjected to his language or attitude.

J.I used to be a part time wine maker, helped the family pick grapes, and helped in the restaurant, back in my last year at Waikato University. After this time whenever I've worked in Hamilton, I always made it a point to have work functions at Vilagrads, which was enjoyed by everyone.
These days, when I'm in town, I go out for Sunday lunches, awesome atmosphere and entertainment, friendly staff, with the lamb roasting on the spit, drinkable light red wine, with all the flavours of healthy Mediterranean cuisine.

The vines on the ceiling are entwined to create a romantic atmosphere, and I don't think I can find a second place so beautiful. The lunch buffet was delicious, I like that lamb and it was very good. The waiters were friendly and always smiled. After lunch we went for a walk through the maze in the cornfield. It was really fun. Sitting under the grape shed and enjoying the delicious white wine is really great 👏 I love this place. 5 stars
