J.Interesting venue, nice food but overpriced at $40/head, the website says for three courses but we were given a set menu giving one soup and a choice from three options for main, and later invited to order dessert from the menu board for the displayed prices. Show $20 or so and usually good value, kinda balances out the costs of the night.

C.Went to see Jon Toogood from Shihad play his acoustic night. We decided to book a table for a group for dinner also. There was no mobile coverage there on Spark or Skinny - unsure about others. Cool venue but had to drag a wifi password from the manager to redeem an entertainment voucher. Drinks a little on the high $$ side. Staff were too few for the number of people and the food was ok but not great. would go again for a show but would like to try dinner on a quieter night one day.

K.Playhouse is a simple and charm bar. It has a lovely garden also. We enjoyed the 80’s music dance floor few weeks ago. Their prices are reasonable. Worth visiting place. The staff is very helpful.

P.This is an excellent venue. Has real character. We went to have some dinner and then see a tribute band here. While the food was good it was a bit disappointing to only have a buffet option for dinner. Would have been better to offer that and maybe a few other bar food type options. The staff were very friendly. Drink options were pretty good with some awesome local beer options. The venue itself is awesome and it's in a brilliant setting. The sound system is very good. For our band, though, the mixing wasn't great with the lead guitarist overly load in the mix. But that's the band and not the system. We had quite a good night overall but probably won't come back given the limited food options offered for dinner.
C.A great little gem tucked up on a back road of Mapua. The meal was fine. Nothing over the top but then that's not what you want when there's a show on. Great service from the staff.
j.Just home from a Great night put on by the Playhouse crew. It was a work social and an absolute hoot as we were taken through a Murder Mystery act. Hilarious participation ..especially the Priest! Delicious food too. Thanks to everyone involved 👍

Ç.The Playhouse Cafe is a hidden Nelson gem. The first time I saw the Playhouse Cafe was on my way back from running the Abel Tasman track (a fantastic run) from that day onwards I have been meaning to visit for a coffee.
So last week when the option arose for a coffee outing, I was ecstatic to have the opportunity to visit the Playhouse Cafe for a coffee.
The Playhouse Cafe is in a fantastic secluded oasis, the staff are lovely, on our visit they were talkative and very polite. Super friendly and enthusiastic.
The inside of the cafe is a delight, the amazing decor is an amazing sight. On this occasion we decided to sit outside. The outdoor seating gives the illusion of being in a tranquil forest environment.
I ordered a flat white, being a self proclaimed coffee conisiour, my only improvement would be not to have as much milk fluff on a flat white. My coffee was also a bit weak (maybe it was the second??)
Overall I would highly reccomend the Playhouse Cafe, it is a delightful place and is truly a hidden gem!
R.Nic and Manu were amazing hosts for our wedding. Venue beautiful for a garden ceremony ( with back up plan), everything was individualised for us and was perfect. Food delicious, staff friendly and guests had a great time.

T.Awesome place away from the main routes. This place is rather hidden but well worth a visit. It's a real funky and spacious place and we all loved our coffees and snacks. It's very quiet and the staff is super friendly.
D.The playhouse is the coolest funkiest cafe/venue in Tasman. The owner Nick is such a great host. There are often wild parties or classy weddings. If you are looking for a hidden gem. This is your place

A.A very unique restaurant. The interior really resembles the inside of a cave. The food are quite good, a bit dear, though. The big downside is: no cellphone as well as internet connection; and there's no WiFi as well.
E.What a great nite food ,drink and entertainment spot on, but take a jumper or coat as it does fet a bit chilly once the sun goes from back deck.
T.Went for xmas lunch meant to be European lunch but had Asian food as well, go figure ,was nice food but there was nothing Christmas about it ,no table decorations , no Christmas music .very disappointing could have been any day of the week.😣☹
