H.Great view with friendly staff. Few Gluten free food options, and good selection of food. Prices were not bad and wait time was pretty quick. Would recommend a swing by even just for a drink to enjoy the view
D.Delicious scrambled tofu on asparagus and bread for a great price! Was too good to stop and take a photo before eating the majority. Beautiful spot on the deck as well!
J.I enjoyed a wonderful evening dinner on the deck with perfect weather and great company the Friday before last. The wait staff were very friendly, polite and some of us had particular requests in relation to the menu. One person was gluten free. I am not a coleslaw fan so the young man said he would check with the chef as to an alternative salad. I said some green leaves and tomato would suffice but was given a Greek salad to go with my steak and chips which exceeded my expectations.
Only one gripe. I ordered the steak, and the menu stated it was a Rib Eye Fillet. I have been around for quite some time and the meat I received was probably a sirloin or rump. The shape or taste was nothing life a rib eye fillet and it required a steak knife to eat it. It was cooked to perfection but not what the menu stated. Otherwise a very pleasant evening in the most perfect setting in Nelson.
B.Beautiful location and close water and mountain views. Friendly helpful staff to rustle up something to suit special dietary needs. Old world history. Not an extensive menu, but still something for everyone. Visited 3 times :)

K.A good range of TAP beers and AMAZINGLY friendly and Welcoming staff. The service standards here are MARVELOUS. It was these standards that made me visit twice with the peaceful and serine environment and a stunning view if its not windy n rainy. I came across three wonderful servers who were great at their job. NAMES, don't ask as I don't remember any. A must visit as its a perfect place for a Breakfast, beer and entrees.
P.Food was not good, the pasta was too spicy hot and tasted like it was heated up and not freshly made, plates cold, staff friendly but rushed us so they could do the dishes. Overall, would not be in a hurry to go back. Had a great view and liked the jazz music.
A.What an awesome venue. Saw a fantastic, top quality show there last night. I so appreciate the good food, great atmosphere, party vibe and good local music available in Nelson. Definitely recommend. Try some new music, you won't be disappointed.

P.We stopped into The Boathouse tonight for dinner and to see Bill Hickman and his band play. What a brilliant venue. There was a nice size stage for the band and sound was great. The music was awesome. The venue is laid out well and the outside deck over the water is spectacular on a sunny evening. Brilliant for sunset. The food was very good too. Better than the usual pub fare. Really enjoyed the Mussel Inn beer as well. Thats a favourite these days. Service was friendly and quick enough too. Can't ask for much more than that can you?
M.What a lovely place to sit a relax. Will be so nice in summer to relax on the deck over looking the stunning nelson waters. Glass of wine and nibbles maybe..the boat house do amazing nibbles. What more could you ask for..

Ç.What an absolutely fantastic cafe. One of the best locations in Nelson for a coffee. I came here with a large group and we were seated very quickly, we received wonderful service and delicious food and coffee. I will certainly be back, and I highly recommend this place to others.

D.We had a work party there over Christmas and it was really lovely, even if it wasn't good enough weather wise to really make use of the outdoor area for much of the night. This place has great food and great staff, and I really recommend their drinks (the pear and elderflower juice is so yummy!)
R.Great location with superb views. Friendly staff. Fish n chips excellent. Only complaint: 7 chips is rather meagre and the 'salad' was more of a garnish.
K.Was slightly disappointing! We ordered the seafood platter and got cheese and cold meat, only to be told they had run out of seafood! Could have mentioned that before we ordered! To top it all off they forgot the childrens meal so they had to wait twice as long!
S.The staff at the Boathouse are awesome! We make regular visits to the Boathouse on Friday nights and we always feel welcome even though we are not financial members. We feel like we belong and the customer service is excellent! The food is great and we enjoy the selection of beer and wine. There are always great gigs on. We will keep coming back to the Boathouse for the best views in Nelson!

C.Prior to leaving Northern Ireland for our month long tour of NZ, we had read good reviews about the Boathouse and made it our business to book a table when in Nelson. We were not disappointed! A good variety of seafood on the menu and the normal laid back Kiwi service! A really enjoyable evening with lots to see in the harbour! Well worth a visit and it's nice to spend a little bit more for an enjoyable experience once in a while!

O.The food was pretty good especially the chowder. The problem was one of our meals was forgotten then we had to remind them, they said it would be 10mins. We saw plenty of other meals go out including what we had ordered so after 15-20min we asked again. They then brought it out within mins. It was a chowder so presumably it would have been pre-prepared.
