Lovely 1 night stay. Our family had a combination of rooms, standard twin, superior twin and standard king. Our rooms were on ground floor at rear of hotel and opened up to the shared outdoor grass lawn which was lovely. Our rooms were all next to each other which made it easy to go from room to room via the grass area. Nice seats outside if you want to enjoy your coffee there and also seating inside the room. The superior queen room was near reception area and had a small balcony instead of outdoor grass area. Very nice and comfy beds, pillows, toiletries...only problem were ants on ceiling but didnt affect us.

Came here for 1 night, with breakfast included. The staff were friendly, and welcoming, and the bed was great. The rooms were also clean and tidy when we entered. There was also free WiFi that didn't need you to be near reception! However, I do have a few problems. The shower head had missing rubber ends, so it had higher water pressure at the missing nozzles The place looked old, and I think needs some renovation of some sort. Final thing, the breakfast was alright, the taste was good, however the texture told that the food was precooked, and reheated. The bacon was also burnt. Overall, the stay was great, however had a few problems.

Great service, staff from reception and bar were very accommodating and polite. Our room was perfect for us during our stay and clean. The hotel is family friendly and our children did not want to leave it was great. I would say our room did not have much space for kitchen amenities but they have a restaurant on site and takeaways stores close by. We really enjoyed our stay.

Amazing!! Great staff, friendly and attentive! Room was clean and big, food was spot on and pool was a hit for all, so close to the beach ⛱ and overall worth every cent! Big shout out to the manager Matthew, I appreciated your extra effort to have my room ready early, your help did not go unnoticed, thank you.

Stayed for two nights over the extremely busy New Year period and was super impressed with the hotel and the staff. The room and the beds were very comfortable and the balcony overlooked the picturesque garden. The hotel backs onto native bush, so plenty of bird life around. Looking forward to returning to Paihia and certainly will be rebooking here.

The hotel name is a misnomer as there is no views. The room I had no cooking facilities or Knife , fork spoon or plates. The room was spotlessly clean and the staff were excellent. Great Restaurant and swimming pool. Paihia beach was about half a km away. Booking was easy.

Very enjoyable stay with our two kids (9, 11) towards the end of the summer school break. Deluxe rooms are very spacious and good for a family of four if you can share beds. Central courtyard for this type of room is very attractive with lush planting, building is solid concrete and as quiet as you will get. You will be aware of neighbours from the balcony but it's just fine. Lobby, dining, terrace and pool has an island resort feel. Pool is not massive, but great for kids and can cope with quite a few families. Staff were great, especially considering COVID necessities. Food is good and reasonably priced for a hotel, so would recommend eating here and not just heading out to Paihia. Have stayed at a hotel in the area only once before, at the Copthorne. That currently sounds like it needs a reno, but this place is a very good choice.

Superb Customer service, Awesome team of Mathew, Missy and Marie. Very clean rooms, lots of parking. Nice pool. Good bar options. Very comfortable beds and nice air con in rooms.

Thumbs up and a thank u to the helpful staffs and Everything was just awesome no complains. Tasty fish n chips from the restaurant. Very sweet staffs. That makes the best appreciation. Will definitely stay again.

Had a very enjoyable two night stay here. The breakfast was excellent and staff were very helpful. Special thanks to Matthew the General Manager for ensuring we had a great stay here.

Amazing hospitality, felt very welcome. We had to leave early at 7.15 for a day trip on bus, the kitchen manager came to our room the day before to plan breakfast and take our orders for the next day, so that we could an early cooked full breakfast before we leave. Thank you.

We had an awesome stay here at the Scenic, the staff were really friendly, the room, the grounds and the pool were immaculate. So nice to be able to bring our dog with us. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.

Clean and well maintained. So close to town ( 10 min walk) and a lovely restaurant on site. Stayed for the Jazz and Blues weekend and it was one of the performance venues so we didn't have far to go to get home! Lots of the bigger bands came as it was the one with the largest and best facilities. All the bands were great -apart from one very loud funk band which we avoided after getting our eardrums attacked.

Just about 3 hours from Auckland CBD(229 kms),Scenic Hotel is 10 mns walking to the Pahia beach. 🏖️ We were 5 families with teens and their queen double rooms could accommodate 4 people in one room,quite spacious I must say. We were on level 1 and the lush green garden view from the balcony were a treat while sipping coffee ☕ The room had a mini fridge,kettle and tea/coffee sachets.Towels and toiletries are provided too. Rupesh- The inhouse reservation staff was helpful right from our booking process till we checked in.Very helpful, informative and professional individual. Nelson who was always prompt with our breakfast orders was very helpful and made sure our breakfast arrived in time. Due to recent red light restrictions,there was no buffet breakfast, however,they offered us breakfast options ( a la carte) and we were all very happy as it was sumptuous. We stayed there for 4 days and took daily excursions to different islands and the cherry on the cake was the location of this hotel. All in all, a wonderful experience and would recommend everyone to stay at this hotel. Thank you everyone at Scenic hotel for your hospitality,truly appreciate it 👏

Beautiful clean accommodation. Lovely pool which the grandkids loved and also being able to get meals there. All food was delicious, drinks were served to us by the pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. Missy went over and above to accommodate everything we needed. Not one negative at all. Would recommend this 100%

Been to scenic 5 times and each time it has presented spotlessly clean and has large rooms with comfortable beds. We were in the 500 block and our car was able to be parked immediately outside the window. The staff were very friendly, polite and eager to please. We experienced a service second to none. The steak at evening dinner was cooked to perfection. If anyone visits paihia then we highly recommend this hotel. There were no negative comments to make.

Room very clean, and well maintained. Exceptionally Comfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom with a great shower. Nice to have a balcony area to sit outside and enjoy the view looking over the garden. Have stayed before and would certainly return.

Very good value for money, wonderful short stay with yummy breakfast over the weekend. Excellent room and great customer service. One extra thing we would have loved is if the pool is heated but other than we had great overall experience.

We stayed 4 nights and found the rooms comfortable and quiet. Highly recommended if you want accommodation close to town (ferry docks are only a 5-10 min walk) but still set back in tranquil surroundings. We definitely recommend the breakfast package; anything off the breakfast menu plus fresh juice and coffee made it well worth it. Marie the server was fantastic, so friendly and full of useful local tips for travellers.

Generally it is ok but one public toilet was dirty for more than a day and I'd not recommend their restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic, the room was amazing, the bed so comfortable, breakfast was brilliant, the staff so helpful and curtious, not far from the middle of town. Will be staying again in December.

Our experience in this hotel was amazing, 100 % recommended. Yes, the property isn’t new, but it is well preserved. They have a big cleaning team, believe you will surprised. The swimming pool was great (you will have sun in the swimming pool until 8 pm!)... parking can be challenging but there is space for all of the cars

We stayed 3 nights over the busy Labour weekend. they were busy and room service missed something each day, eg coffee sachets & toiletries weren't refilled, but Reception were prompt in fixing & always did it with a huge smile! The pool isn't heated so the kids didn't last long but it was a nice to have. Nice big spacious room with dense gardening for privacy. Clean & comfy.

We loved our stay at Scenic Bay of Islands. The room was clean and well laid-out, the beds super comfortable and air conditioning/heat pump so you can choose your own temperature. The gardens are lovely, the staff attentive and friendly and the food delicious. If there were elevators to get the bags to the 2nd floor it would be 5 stars! We will definitely return.

The honest truth is that the hotel is probably a little tired, but the staff are wonderful, the rooms are clean and tidy, super kid friendly, and the location is just spectacular. I think we were in one of the older rooms and it is probably overdue a makeover but again had everything we needed. Recommended!!

Excellent stay, rooms exceptional and clean. Bar fridge hummed noisy during the night. No breakfast room service as advised online. Due to menu change offering buffet breakfast only. The pool was not heated as stated online . No microwave to heat up leftovers. During the night The backpackers lodge We’re running noisily around the back . Everything else was good. Reception friendly 😊

Went up to Paihia for a wedding & can't fault Scenic Hotel! Beautiful clean rooms, great shower pressure, the King beds were amazing & soft, & loved the Earth botanics tolietries. Friendly staff, Kids loved the Pool. All round a Great stay, Would definately stay again & would recommend to others as well!

Had a wonderful stay at Scenic Hotel Bay of Islands. The location is just out of town but a short walk to everyything including the beach. We were there with kids (7 and 11 years) and they loved the pool, the restaurant food and the grounds in general. Rooms were really spacious witheverything you would need for a family holiday. The staff were super friendly. We would definitely go back.

Service was great! Rooms were clean and done everyday. The beds were so comfy too. We had our wedding guests stay here as well as the reception in the Nikau restaurant in the hotel. Food was always delicious. We will be staying here everytime we come back to Paihia. Highly recommend!

Very clean, tidy hotel. We had to request ground floor rooms for elderly parents and it was accomodated at a last minute request from us :-) The staff Pam & Katie went out of their way to help us provide transport when we were stranded with a flat tyre after our Dolphin cruise. The room service meals were excellent. Very friendly staff, reception desk, chef and all :-) I will highly recommend this hotel and will definitely come back to it. Thank you so much Pam & Katie.

Fantastic stay, beds were soft and relaxing to sleep on. The location is perfect you are close to everything from the beach to food and a heated pool. Wonderful staff and service. There is a TESLA charging station at the hotel.

Very close to the main street of Paihia, along the coast. Food was delicious and service is superb!

Fantastic little place to stay. The room was very spacious & the wooden high v shaped ceilings were beautiful. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom adequate & the air con worked great with the ceiling fan. The pool was also great. No complaints with this hotel & further more the customer service was 10/10. Bay of Islands is the most beautiful town, can’t wait to visit again.

The room was great value with a special they offered for a weekend. The staff were very helpful in giving me use of the conference room for a 69th birthday zoom party. Breakfast was great and would definitely stay there again. Thank you to all the staff.

Clean, tidy and the room was of a good size. Inverter was also functioning well but a bit dark in the room. No lighting for the tea and coffee counter.

Stayed here for three nights in January 2021. Conveniently located within 10 minutes walk to Paihia town centre. Rooms were spacious and air conditioning is quiet. Would definitely stay here again in future.

Loved our stay very much. Very family friendly. 26 of us were well looked after. Rooms were big and staff were great. Tried the breakfast which was very good and the kids loved the options. We look forward to another visit.

Amazing hotel. So close to the main town and plenty of restaurants around (tho the hotel restaurant is just as lovely). Friendly staff and comfy rooms. Could tell they were flat off their feet with no vacancies and obviously a small team post covid so we really appreciate the great service in spite of these things. Would come back again.

Nice hotel (Europeans might still call it motel) , had bad luck with our room first but staff was really nice and helpful, everything sorted fast. Like the garden area at the back and the spacious rooms.

Thank you for the available room after ariving at Paihia around 9:45pm. Called in and got 2 rooms available for us. We thoroughly enjoyed the rooms, we were served by 2 smiling faces at reception. Had breakfast there as well, food was delicious. Thank you for the warm hospitality and such beautiful place to be available in such short notice. Will definitely come back

We had an incredible stay at this Scenic Hotel - my partner and I thought the rooms were lovely, and the staff were very pleasant during our stay. The hotel has a very resort-like feel to it, which is exactly what we were after. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel had the best pillows of any of the hundreds of hotels I have been in. The shower was one of the best too. On the negative side the coffee machine at breakfast had to be pressed twice to fill a cup so there were queues and one was often broken. Good position and comfortable.

Great place although a little tired in areas. Ev charging a great thing to have and management dealt with a noise issue within 10 minutes! Would be nice to have a couple of knives and forks in the kitchen though!

Comfortable clean room, nice and secluded with the garden outside. Our bed was a bit softer than we are used to, but all in all a great stay.

Very nice, modern hotel. Room was excellent, very clean bathroom. Nice grounds. However, I shared the place with two large tour groups, and they were clearly priority. They filled the restaurant that evening, and breakfast was no better. All the tables that were actually laid were either occupied or had reserved notices on them. I ended up getting some food and setting up my own table in a corner of the bar. I was clearly an afterthought. So, in conclusion if you stay here under normal conditions you’d probably give it five stars, but if there is a tour group go somewhere else.

Had occasion to stay one night recently while visiting friends in Russell, from our first contact we could tell how much effort and care was taken to make our stay enjoyable. To mention a few highlights we appreciated, the lovely foyer/reception area with the very clean toilets, the reception staff who were great especially when we had a minor incident at 9.45pm which they dealt with in a kind and efficient manner, the good sized clean room and the air conditioning! We had a nice hot shower after the day at the beach then took advantage of the complimentary drink at the bar. Special thanks to Caroline who took good care of our us and to Venky for his excellent customer service and the amazing Mojito’s he made us. We thought the food and drinks were well priced. We did find the beds too soft but I now think there may have been toppers which could have been removed. Only one little complaint was the smoking tables outside the restaurant area, it was a beautiful evening all the doors and windows were open so the smoke came straight in, Venky turning the overhead fans on did help. Would definitely stay again and can highly recommend this hotel Kind regards Maxine

The surroundings of the hotel is just superb. I met great ***y friendly people. Definitely the best value for the money. My favorite feature of their rooms is the bathroom. The food was quite was delicious. The room we had was spotless. Will return to the property in the near future.

Overall very nice. Disappointed that we did not get replacement soaps or tea & coffee. Door onto deck could do wit h a ho ok to hold it open.

The room was a good size. Suite room was very very nice. I got a decent room rate. Balcony overlooked a large garden area. The deluxe super king is good that it has a bath. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location because it moves perfectly in the city.

Another fantastic stay. Great accommodation to suit most budgets. Wonderful buffet breakfast. Very attentive staff who even helped us out in the middle of the night with sick children. Great service, good room, great breakfast but omg if you are tall/big the bed is like being on a boat. Way too soft, and when you move on it it rocks. Apart from that great deal we got as well.

Stayed here earlier this month for 3 nights. Would recommend the room to all families. The size of the room is ok for us without any big luggage. The room is maintained very clean throughout our stay. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful. There was a lot of construction going nearby.

A nice, clean, comfortable room for the night. Basic kitchen amenities - kettle and microwave and some cups, plates ans utensils. They allowed us to charge our electric cars overnight for no extra charge. They had some 16amp blue caravan power points as well as some 10amp 3112 (normal household) power points. The site itself is visually attractive and very near the beach and restaurants.

Good location and nice modern room. The shower was very small though so this was a concern for my partner who is over 6 foot and found the tiny space rather annoying. The room although lovely and modern is very dark! Although, to be commended is that it is only on one level and a cottage style design - so quite pretty. Close to the pool, bar and restaurant, Hotel reception staff are excellent to deal with.

Comfy beds and plenty of room overall. Shower was a tad small. Extremely helpful, courteous staff who went out of their way to make the weekend a happy one. Thankyou so much.

This Motel is absolutely wonderful! The linen is clean and lush, the service is awesome. The food is great with a restaurant on-site. The staff are so friendly and welcoming.

Impressed with the reception service and the general cleanliness of the hotel and room. There seems to be thought put into this hotel as they provide not only comfortable beds but also pillows of various grades so you can pick and choose one that suits you. There is also good quality tea and coffee provision and thoughtfully, Chinese tea with Chinese tea cups! The only negative thing I would comment on would be that it is difficult to fill the kettle from the tap. Perhaps the provision of a water jug would help. I would come back here again! Good and memorable stay.

Had a great weekend away for our anniversary. I thought the hotel as a whole was incredibly clean. The ***ager quickly did some changes and offered us an upgrade at no extra cost. I think there is a large variety of types of room as it is a big establishment.

Lovely place comfy rooms great food and service. Beautiful as surroundings and of you love the bush when you slide the door open on your balcony you think your in the middle of it and not a 1 minute walk from the beach.

Nice hotel handily placed to walk into Paihia. The one meal we had in the hotel was very good and nicely presented. the rooms where very big with 2 double beds and very clean. A the staff very friendly.

I stayed here on a work trip. The room was excellent, very spacious and with everything I needed. The breakfast choice was vast. One minor criticism is that the coffee machine in the restaurant was slow and not particularly strong.

I have no complaints against the hotel except that two nights I got woken up from a chirping Cricket behinds one of the walls. No way to get rid off. Otherwise the room was very comfortable.

The hotel was about a 10-15 minute walk from the main area of Paihia. The rooms were some of the best we have ever had. I thought my room was very clean. From arrival to departure we were well taken care of. We would definetly recommend this place to our friends.

Our first hotel, whilst visiting the North Island. Amazing. Great choices of restaurants. We enjoyed a trip around the Bay of Islands and also visited an island called Russell. Beautiful but you need deep pockets.

I was very pleasantly surprised at how modern and well maintained the hotel rooms were, even though we were in the older part of the complex. The staff were all very professional, pleasant and obliging. I only have two suggestions. Don't use powdered eggs for breakfast and allocate parking outside the rooms so that guests don't have to tote their luggage from where ever they are able to park.

The boys and girls who work at the hotel make the best effort so the hotel can be in the best presentation possible, my only cons: was the bed , but that doesn’t make the whole experience bad.

From the reservations, arrival, accomodation an departure, staff were lovely an accommodating! Everyone was always friendly an smiling! The accomodation had a lovely setting with lots of well looked after gardens! Couldnt fault anything with our stay!

Apparently the hotel is undergoing room upgrades, we must have been given a non- renovated room as it was a bit tired looking. Also if you get one of the rooms by the pool they can be noisy at night with people sitting outside the bar.

Modern. Clean. Efficient. Very welcoming. One of the nicest hotels and a very short walk from the shore, town and pier. The restaurant was average with just warm food rude restaurant junior let everyone else down.

Nice and comfortable rooms. Great to have a heat pump as warmed the room very quickly. Staff very friendly and attentive. Have stayed at this hotel 3 x now.

Downside: No wifi, no phone reception !! Restaurant closes for breakfast at 9:30am No views (scenic is really just a selling name) Upside: good swimming pool, reasonable size room, clean rooms. Paid more than $1100 for 3 nights... very over priced I wouldn't stay there or recommend.

Very comfortable but Bar is in need of attention. They had run out of some drinks! Otherwise recommended. Rooms clean and beds comfortable.

We had a most enjoyable stay at Scenic Paihia and would particularly like to thank our Duty Manager Sian for her kindness and attention. Her knowledge of the area and advice regarding trips was first class and made our stay very special. We thanked her personally but do please thank her again.

Lovely room with extremely comfortable bed. Very close to dining room, bar and pool. Excellent service. Very clean and tidy.

We were there for 4 nights for the blues and jazz festival. Staff were brilliant, unit was nice, venue for the entertainment worked well and the winter special made it great value.

Rooms were good. Bed a bit uncomfortable. Restaurant was extremely busy. Staff were very friendly.

Superb Hotel, great rooms, lovely people, very good restaurant, easy walk to the beach and the ferry to Russel. One star removed as the WiFi is hopeless... and I mean really hopeless..

Rooms are nice, pool could be heated.. But the WiFi is shocking! Don't offer WiFi if it is going to be dial up speeds.

Very clean and tidy place to stay and base to explore the Bay of Islands. Easy 10 minute walk to the Wharf and main shops in Paihia.
