I've been to a couple of weddings at Wallaceville House, and we also recently did the Christmas Murder Mystery there for our Christmas-do. Rainbow is always such a fantastic host, she was super responsive leading up to the function and definitely went above and beyond to make sure everything was in place for us. The whole team are very professional and overall our experience there was really good value. Thank you!

Room was clean and warm, but small and incredibly basic. Shower didn't drain properly and there are no cooking facilities in the room apart from a microwave. The rooms appear to have no sound proofing and you can hear what is happening in the room next door and outside. The manor and function areas are gorgeous, absolutely beautiful at night. Parking is ok. Cleaning ladies were really lovely. Wanted to give 3.5 stars, but can't- that's why I gave 4.

Can't explain how wonderfully this place has been managed by Rainbow and David. If you ever get an invitation for an event happening over there, PLEASE DO NOT MISS... So antique and beautiful

My husband and I got married here at Wallaceville House 10 months ago (embarrassingly so its taken us this long to send through our review). Let me start by saying.. everything, and I mean absolutely everything was perfect! From the the first time we reached out to Rainbow and her team, to a year later when we said our "I do's", she was the most hands on, patient, above and beyond person you could have help facilitate your special day. The venue - The venue is absolutely picturesque. I would describe Wallaceville as romantic (exactly what I envisioned in a wedding venue before actually seeing Wallaceville). The stunning gazebo where we said our vows, the beautiful gardens we wandered around for photos, the old style ball room we held our reception with the big white balcony to overlook the venue. Pop online and check out their photo's - you will know what I mean. The food, my goodness people did not stop complimenting the food, to this day we still have guests from our wedding mention how good our food was - the best part was that the food and drink was flowing - so our guest were very happy! And finally, the best thing (in my opinion) that this venue has to offer is the service of Rainbow and her team - I felt completely as ease knowing that they were managing our day. Anything I queried, was unsure about, Rainbow was there to help. From checking in on me while getting ready, to running around the venue, here there and everywhere, to seeing her pop up behind the bar at times throughout the evening. This woman is talented! Her and her team do an amazing job here at Wallaceville and I really can't recommend them enough. If your looking at Wallaceville House as a venue option - go to the venue and see it in person, its such a hidden gem!

With my Flight from Wellington airport cancelled, and with the ferries cancelled, accommodation in Wellington was scarce. We rang Wallaceville, and they had a room available. Was very late by the time I arrived, after driving in from the airport. Didn't know what to expect as i winded down the long leafy driveway. Lady at reception was so lovely and understanding. The motel rooms were down the way a bit further with plenty of parking. My unit was upstairs, with a little balcony overlooking the grounds. Room was spacious, and very comfortable. Was a little chilly, but it had a wall heater to take the edge off. Everything was very clean and well appointed. One complaint was the shower which was terrible! Only a small drive into the center of Upper Hutt to get some takeaways for dinner. Certainly recommend this place, and will stay again if I am in the area.

Had a friends wedding here on Saturday the 21st of November. Where to start. Beautiful venue. Set up amazingly. Such an awesome location and the room we stayed in was lovely too. The staff was the best thing about this place though. Vlad and the ladies were AMAZING. Super professional, super friendly. Can't say enough good things about it. Thanks Vlad and crew!

Fantastic wedding venue. Set in a secluded and private setting. The main reception building is 2 storied with a bar and multi purpose reception rooms on both levels. There is a wide spiral staircase connecting the 2 levels with an eye catching ceiling. The accommodation block was more than adequate but the decore was just beginning to get a little tired and tv coverage was rather average. Overall the venue was something else with a great atmosphere.

Rainbow and the team made our wedding day a breeze! Rainbow was helpfully involved in the planning of the day and answered all of my questions promptly. Such a beautiful venue and the food was fantastic.

Wallaceville House was the perfect venue for our wedding! The house and scenery was so beautiful and with accommodation onsite our guests loved it. We received many compliments about the quality of the food as well. Our photographer also loved the venue as there were so many places to take photos onsite. Rainbow was incredibly helpful from the start of the wedding planning process all the way to the day of.

What a delightful find! Reasonably priced, very quiet, peaceful, warm and large comfortable rooms! Highly recommended, even though the bathroom was a bit dated. It certainly is Ideal for weddings as the setting is absolutely divine. I would certainly return and stay for more than one night! Keep up the awesomeness Wallaceville, I loved my stay!

Went there for my niece's wedding. The grounds were well maintained and the wedding was held outdoors in beautiful surroundings. The main reception building has a bar downstairs and the dining/ballroom area is upstairs. The in-house catering was excellent, with hot and cold buffets and plenty of food. The only (small) criticism is that the toilets are downstairs near the bottom of the spiral staircase and do not appear user-friendly for mobility impaired persons. I did not stay overnight, so cannot comment on the accommodation.

pretty good. some plants weren't in solid condition and in my opinions, the food was average at the venue, good drinks, though. and there was a fake plant on each table, a ring of leaves, and danm, there was so much dust on them, it kinda grossed me out, because it was right next to our food. otherwise, pleasant.

Attended a good friend's wedding here about a month ago. Great surrounding environment. the whole place is so clean and well managed. Friendly owner and also staff Buffet meal offers good variety of choice with reasonable quality.

I went to a mid-winter Xmas dinner with a work party. They offered a superb range of delicious smorgasbord entrées & mains. The house is magnificent and the service was courteous and efficient. The desserts weren't served until about 10pm, which was pretty late for parents who'd hired babysitters. All in all, it was a lovely evening out, I love this venue. It's stunning 😊

Not the best place to go if you're mobility challenged, but the stairs aren't too steep and there's plenty of room for more abled people to pass if you need to take it slow on them. Food and service are fine, but not fine dining (which suits me). Don't rely on GPS to get here as directions will take you further up the hill than the entrance, so as soon as you see the sign, turn in.

My wedding day was perfect, Thanks to all the wonderful staff at Wallaceville who just made the entire day so painless and easy. Everything from the pre-drinks, food music, you name they sorted it and what is wonderful about this place is there is only one cost that includes everything! The place is beautiful and well kept and the staff are just so lovely! Highly recommend.

Beautiful room with views of grounds and house/reception centre. Great for a couples get away. Very quiet at night and also quite dark as it is surrounded by trees so you get a great night's sleep, liked hearing the Moreporks (Owls) calling at night. 2 minutes to Upper Hutt and close to SH2 so easy to get out and about. Popular so if you want to extend your stay do so early or miss out as we did

Great location. Have attended ten times. Several weddings, functions, and corporate education since 1995. Accommodation is comfortable but not exotic. Location is in a beautiful bush setting on the side of Wallaceville Hill.

Lovely place. My daughter and I from our salon did a wedding parties hair at this amazing venue. Started at 930, was dun by 230pm. Wedding ceremony started at 330pm. Lvly.

The off-season rates for this Motor Lodge are far cheaper than what I can find in the states. Actually for this price you get a Motel 6 or the equivalent in the USA. This is on par with anything the Hilton's put out there. Although it does remind me of a throwback of Bushwood Country Club from Caddyshack. The decor could be updated. But the staff were very kind and generous. Gave great hints as what to do in the area. Thanks all for a great stay
