Good sized space to experience and intimate performance and to stay warm for winter. Take care of the wooden step from the road surface up to the tile terrace. Bookcase is a great backdrop for the stage. Good selection of craft beers.

Great place. I'm always excited when I buy tickets to a show and I see that Meow is the venue. Outside area is sizable, and I like how the have the stage set out. It's easy to get a view of the artist wherever you are standing.

This was a fun night out with friends while enjoying a few drinks and listening to traditional Balkan music. Conversation was difficult during the musicians' performance due to the increased volume.

I came to what's the high society gig and was just blowing away by the food the wine was delicious I had an exceptional night thank you guys

Despite how busy the gig was that my friends and I went to the staff were all over things. Constantly picking up dropped glasses wiping down the sticky bar top and the wait for drinks was as long as it took you to sober up enough to get a full sentence out. The lass as security on the door was amazing! She not only dealt witha few small incidents that I saw with ease but also managed to maintain a regular flow in and out of the bar while all this nonsense was going on.

Decent venue. Staff were great. Sadly the clientele talked through the band playing. Some venues have a shut up when the band is playing policy. Would be great if this venue took that path.

Spent an evening at a Wgtn Jazz Club show. A Dixie band from Chch playing some of the best Dixie music I have heard. Service was good. Sound was good. A great experience.

Great venue with great sound and best of all, you can get a really good view of the stage as it's slightly elevated. The only downside is the bar is so close to the stage (and at times the bar staff were louder than the actual band with dishwashers and all sorts). The wine we ordered also tasted vile but maybe that was just my choice. Otherwise, great bar and great venue! Edit: In response to the owners comment, I notified the bar staff of the wine at the time, luckily you let me buy a new one haha.

We went to a show there, really cool little spot for groups, great decor and chill vibes. Good chicken wings deal on Wednesdays I think.

Great venue but disappointed with the lack of seating for prepaid tickets. Its disappointing if you have to stand for a whole show especially if you are aware of numbers from pre purchased tickets.

Really cool venue, great size for smaller bands. The beer is a little pricey at like $11 a glass but the staff are polite. Some of the security guards were a bit needlessly rude, flexing their power a bit more than they needed to, but it is a hard job and drunk teens are the worst.

Decent venue, good acoustics and good vibe. Often have tables up the front by the stage that get in the way once a gig is underway. I'd love if the staff moved them before things kicked off, but have had success moving them with a few others in the crowd before things get too messy.

I've only ever been to this venue for gigs and it's pretty good for that. It can hold a couple hundred at capacity I would say and the view is reasonable. Plenty of room to jump and dance and sing along. Beer selection is OK, not really my thing but if you like the IPAs there's plenty ty to choose from. Staff are usually in a good mood, smoking area is OK, haven't eaten the food.

Very funky cafe and I love that it's in an alley way. It's amazing that they can be a great cafe by day and also have an excellent nightlife scene. The place doesn't even smell like beer in the morning. It's a retro hangout to the t. I especially like that they play music from records.

I came here for the Guitar Wolf concert. The beer was nice and priced okay. Meow often does concerts, but this is the only one I've been to. I thought it was set up well, although a bit loud. I'd come here for a concert again!

Had a great time here for Estere's Bro Bono Techno Zone single release. Drinks were resonably priced, & it's such a great space to watch a gig. I will say however that we were charged 2 different prices for the same round of drinks which was a bit confusing but it was very busy that night so we didn't address it. Bar staff were ok I found the bouncers much more welcoming to be honest but it's a good venue. Bathrooms were super clean which was awesome considering how busy it was.

A bar decorated by your grandma with a wide variety of live bands. Can get pretty packed here. Has a few tables and chairs outside for nice summer days.

Nice place, mellow decor but shame about the over done jazz aspect most nights. Every time I go it is full of the same-old-same-old NZSM players and their same groupie audience....and most of them think they are better musicians than they are....REPEAT YAWN!!!!

Hep cats gather at Meow for late night Jazz/Funk. Great beers and wine and wait for it...a full whisky menu. The dinner menu's not half bad either.

Great spot for a casual drink, find a band, or take in a decent snack. $1 wings on Wednesday. They're massive and well flavoured.

Went to see Nomad. Was a great experience. Vibe was great. Seating was great. I had a good view of the stage as I was sitting at a table on the raised platform.
