Reviews of Te Papa Venues

We selected Te Papa Venues for a team building away day. Very satisfied with the organisation from Martina. She was quick to respond to emails and flexible with change. The venue provides plenty of coffee/large selection of tea/cold water and these are regularly topped up. Very grateful that a whiteboard and large pad of paper is provided as well as individual note pads and pens and optional AV with additional charge. Great variety of morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea options with ample portion sizes. Although they were very flexible with gluten free options, dairy and beef free options were a little lacking. However, the options that were offered were more than satisfactory. Highly recommend with fantastic and attentive service.

Heading to the Oceania event space on the day before the Conference I would have got lost without asking the wonderful helpful guide in the Museum foyer. The lift from the ground floor takes you to Level 3 where Oceania is, and signs placed in the corridors point the way from there. Virtual Assistants did the organisation of the event I attended and they were so friendly, helpful and attentive to our needs. The floor space is good for hosting sponsor and sales booths, plenty of room to put the booths in rows with corridor space for attendees to mingle. Coffee and tea was served in window alcoves to take advantage of the harbour views. The food was great, a good variety of finger food during the drinkies happy hour, and tasty lunch. Warm on the first day and cold on the second, they never quite got the air-conditions right. The nearest toilet seemed to be some distance away.

Food was really excellent - best conference food in a long time. Salmon entree was exquisite, lamb main was beautiful & desserts were good too. Every meal was mouth-watering & plenty of food was provided. Salmon snacks (pictured) were absolutely perfect. Thanks so much for wonderful food at our event!

We held our Launch in the Rangimarie Room at Te Papa this week. What a smooth, easy process it was from booking the event through to the evening itself. The Venues Team were amazing. They were able to answer any queries very quickly and nothing was too much trouble. The food and beverage service was wonderful and plentiful. The room itself was comfortable and spacious with great views of the harbour. Parking and access are easy and Te Papa staff are very helpful with directions. We will definitely come again and highly recommend Te Papa Venues to everyone.

I was lucky enough to have a chance to spend a couple of afternoons at Te Papa. As a returning expat, not having lived home in NZ, it was wonderful to reconnect with my land and my culture. The contemporary art and permanent installations were fantastic as were the heritage collections of our flora & fauna, our whakapapa and stories in times of war and the honour given to those servicemen and women. The shop is also a must! Thank you.

Excellent facilities. Lots of great spaces. The catering is also exquisite.

We chose Te Papa for our quarterly company conference during Level 2 and they accommodated us brilliantly. Colleagues who were joining in remotely felt like they were a part of the day due to the excellent service from the two technicians. The staff were all lovely, attentive and accommodating all whilst following the guidelines of Level 2. Martina, in particular, was incredibly helpful in the organisation and set-up given the unusual circumstances ensuring the day ran smoothly. We would highly recommend and will be returning for our next event!

My team recently had their away day at Te Papa. As a returning customer, i was not surprised by the amazing service provided by Martina and her staff. From my initial expression of interest, Martina provided a seamless and efficient service ensuring all our needs would be catered for on the day, as well as offering the most affordable rate in the Wellington area. Upon arrival, the room was set up exactly as expected. The room was very spacious and was well lit with natural lighting. We also had a beautiful view of the warf and waterfront. The catering provided for the day was spectacular. And the staff went over and beyond to ensure dietary requirement options were available for attendees. The standard AV equipment provided in the package was easy to use and we had no issues with any of the AV equipment for the day. We will definitely be returning to this fabulous venue and we thank all the staff at Te papa for making the process of booking a venue easy peasy :)

We ran a workshop here last week during Alert Level 2. We were understandably a bit apprehensive going into it, but Te Papa made us feel safe with the rules they put in place. The food was delicious (and very generous portions!) and it was an ideal setup - people felt far enough away from each other to feel "safe", but close enough to each other to effectively engage and communicate. The Te Papa crew nailed it.

Te Papa is always worth a visit. Multiple exhibitions and a great overview of the NZ history and nature. Art exhibitions are changing and usually good to excellent quality.

The team at Te Papa were incredibly patient and careful with organising our event. Everything on the day ran smoothly and our team were able to just get on with their workshop. The food was exceptional and all dietary requirements were carefully catered for. The staff were helpful on the day and ensured we were met at the main door and taken to the room to get ready for our big day. I would highly recommend Te Papa to anyone who is looking for a room for any occasion. Te Papa will make sure your day is a success.

Great place to spend a couple of hrs with some great displays,the best part is the first world war display which have really big figures of some people who were involved in the war, they are so excellent with the details you think they are real!

The team at Te Papa are friendly and professional. The process from start to finish was seamless and communications excellent at every phase of conference preparation. The food was absolutely delicious and friendly and attentive catering staff provided a range of alternatives for the more delicate palates (keno, gluten, vegan, vegetarian). I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this highly professional team at Te Papa to those people seeking a venue for their meetings or conferences. Well done team :)

We had a great time at Te Papa for our team planning day. We were all so impressed with the venue and the catering for such a reasonable price compared to other Wellington venues I’d contacted. Thank you to Martina and Tim for helping our day to run so smoothly, and allowing us to get on with our planning.

Nicole is amazing to deal with, great prices and has loads of options and flexible with plans so can accommodate variety of events. Just locked in our 2nd and 3rd events for the year. Juicy little extra bonus is that these guys even invite you to exclusive complimentary previews of fantastic exhibitions with drinks and canapes thrown in for good measure. Great service, great venues and great relationship management 11 out of 10.

Te Papa Venues would have to be one of the best venue hires available in Wellington. As a not for profit we need to be be budget conscious while also ensuring that our Volunteer Board members feel the depth of appreciation they deserve and Te Papa does all that and more! We had incredible service, a board room to die for (the views were amazing and kept us upbeat even after a full day of governance planning) and the catering was simply 5 star! Seriously - you don't need to go anywhere else - Te Papa Venues is incredible!

Please give our huge thanks to everyone who looked after us on Monday. The food was amazing. The variety was huge and all the GF and v choices were superb. The venue was great and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves there. Please advise Lucho that everyone also enjoyed the Maori tour as well

What a night we had!! Thank you for all your help with our event on Saturday. We absolutely had the best time ever!! Your staff were very accommodating and helpful. Compliments to the chef for a beautiful spread and also for catering for our special dietary dancers. Te Marae Rongomaraeroa venue is an elegant venue as was perfect for our function, meal was gorgeous and the service on the night by Pardeep and the staff was amazing! Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you again in 2020.

I highly recommend Te Papa as a venue - agileCoLab hold regular events there. The team is incredibly helpful to work with, both prior to our events and on the day (special mention to Martina and Leticia!). We always get great comments about the facilities, location and the food!

This was my first time running a workshop form Te Papa and I couldn’t be happier . The space was fantastic, and the team were a pleasure to work with and made my life easier by taking care of everything promptly and professionally. I'm just about to book my next workshop with them. Highly recommended.

Love Te Papa, particularly the Rātana movement, though there was less information than I was expecting there, and the pieces of Ralph Hotere and McCahon - really good.

We had a 2 day certification training recently and the room we were in was great! The staff before, during and after were fabulous. Very attentive, answered our many questions and provided a great service.
