Love this iconic building! It's been earthquake strengthened and spruced up. I've been on a guided tour of it and love the history hidden out the back. Was nice and warm for the concert last night, there's always something upcoming.

Saw Sole3mio last night. They were fantastic as always. However the show was 40 minutes late starting. People were made to stand around waiting for the seating area to be opened with no explanation or apology whatsoever. No chairs were made available to those with disabilities. When the show did get underway, a support singer was the opening act for around 25 mins. Then a break in the show was announced which took up a further 20 minutes. Ridiculous!! Several people mentioned the Opera House was cold throughout the show. A wonderful show spoiled by very poor management.

Had a wonderful host who showed us around. No wheelchair access for upstairs. Used for all sorts of entertainment. Excellent operatic sound for up and coming and local operatic performances.
Loved the atmosphere there.

These old opera houses are great. Where we were sitting, though, the chairs are a bit narrow. Clearly folk were slimmer back in the day...

Have been there a few times, its quaint old time charm has good sound and atmosphere - I have seen a concert, my daughters ballet recital, and 7 days (comedy), and I think it would suit most performance types admirably.

Beautiful building that has been in Whanganui for well over 100 years (more like 120 years old) Well worth just visiting just to see it, if not heading to one of the many shows. Lots of history and a great place to watch just about anything
