I. B.We stayed one night here in the tenting area on our way up to the cape, but would have happily stayed longer.
Well maintained grounds and facilities. The buildings have been tastefully constructed, and the kitchen had several fridges and lots of pots and things to cook with.
Laid-back, helpful staff and reasonable prices ☺️
Will return for future trips to the Cape!

G. N.My partner Lana and I arrived here in August and fell in love with the place. Our initial plan was to spend 2 weeks here and review later to stay on another 2 weeks or not which wasn’t to be after the August 16th lockdown announcement. We were greeted by some very likeable, friendly camp sitters who were very helpful and showed us around the camp. This holiday park is child and animal friendly with the on site farm a delight for children of all ages. With the local supermarket, bottlestore, tavern and newly refurbished wharf being a 2 minute walk down the road makes this place even more likeable. The Cape is 40mins away as is Kaitaia for all your major shopping stores and supermarkets.
Anyway, back to the park, very clean and friendly staff who will go out of there way to ensure you enjoy your stay. We would like to thank Jo the camp owner, all staff and people that we have met while being here for the wonderful memories and we just couldn’t recommend this place enough to anyone wanting relaxation and chilling out time.
L. H.Great campsite, stayed in a tourist cabin which was clean and practical. Excellent showers, kitchen and laundry area. Highly recommend and would visit again. Loved the animals and ponies 😊

After me making a total balls up of our booking, Jo has been so very kind and helpful in getting it sorted for us. If we weren't excited enough about heading up north for a summer camping trip we're now even more excited as we know we'll be staying somewhere that truly value their guests and have proper kiwi hospitality! T. O.Our standard cabin was well-built and comfortable, with the right balance between practicality and cost. The kitchens, showers and toilets were clean and well maintained. Good showers were perfect at the end of a long dusty or sand day exploring! We had some difficulty putting tent pegs into the ground, in the very dry weather. Service and management was prompt and efficient. The resident animals were delightfully friendly, as were the longer-term guests. This town was a great place to base ourselves from, for exploring the Far North.

in this camping ground. We have been travelling round NZ for 2months so far with 1month left. This would be our Number 1 favorite place to stay.
We were given a friendly welcome. Lovely clean showers & toilets, & kitchen. Friendly locals. We were given fresh snapper & fresh mussells by locals & other campers. Would definitely recommend this place to people looking for a wonderful camping experience.
R. L.Spent 5 days camping here. We enjoyed our stay. It doesn’t have a pool but is close enough to the beach. Kitchen fitted out with anything you need (would be good to bring your own drying towels as there weren’t many and they were wet most of the time). It is worth noting that parts of the park are looking quite tired and need some tlc, besides that it is lovely. They even had a water slide up for the kiddies when it got too hot. Would stay here again!

The hospitality was amazing, the kids loved all the animals around and the overall atmosphere was great! We even lost our iPad and I emailed them about it, and 2 weeks later they found it and mailed it to me right away :) What great people!! Would highly recommend!! :)
M. C.Stayed here for a few weeks in the cabin. Great spot. Has a good size kitchen with everything you need. Showers and toilets were good too. The animals are just a little bonus. Especially the cat, we made friends. Jo is great, very helpful.

when i use the kitchen i can borrow clean dishes and kitchen tools
If i want to take a shower, i can take hot shower whenever i want! unless in 5min.
i can wash my dirty clothes by coin washer with 4 dollars.
good view and good peoples are here. you might have good experience.

B. F.Great place to stay in the far north. One of the few places that take dogs. Dogs ok in cabins too. $50 refundable deposit.
We stayed in the cabin with ensuite. Well appointed. Sleeps 6. Clean and tidy. Shopped at the nearby foursquare which is well stocked.
E. W.Excellent place to stay, family run and they are warm and welcomng. Great for families with plenty of animals for the children to interact, close to all beaches, and great for anyone who wants to fish, or just relax. Winery*s, for tasting , or just relax and have a 4 star lunch, golf clubs, for those who wish to partate, pop up fresh fruit ice cream stops on the sides of the roads, and fresh fish and chips at most stops with beautiful views of the sea.

O. W. A. G. S.Handy spot for touring. Many beautiful beaches nearby and approx 45 mins Cape Reinga. Four Square, cafe, bottle store etc a walk away. Wharf bottom street. Friendly atmosphere. Cute ponies. We had a nice and private spot for our pop up trailer.

A. H.I have never been to such an awesome camping ground before, and believe me I've been to hundreds. Bill who is running the camp with his lovely wife Florence, came over and helped three damsels in distress (new tent ) and helped us put it up. Then he could see me being a blonde and took over blowing up my camp bed. wow who does that in this day and age. We invited him to have a drink with us. Bill and Florence went the extra mile and ohhhhhhhhhh my goodness they did it with style. I and my camping buddy's give this camping spot an A++++++ . We will definitely be back. Even if we have to make an excuse for a holiday. Believe me you won't regret staying at Pukeanui camping ground. Thank you Bill and Florence for making us so welcome.
