I love markets, especially the big markets I'm used to in Latin America. Unfortunately New Zealand doesn't offer anything like that, but the Johnsonville market is really nice, not huge but you can find a decent amount of stalls and great produce at great prices. Highly recommended.

Every Sunday morning my husband and I will go there to buy some vegetables. Comparing with those sold in supermarkets, they are of similar or better quality but cheaper price. We especially love cooking seasonal veggies from there because of the habits of healthy eating. They also have tofu-related products so we are pretty satisfied going there every week.

Good market with some decent deals on fruit and veg, especially when it's in season. Best to check across the stalls as prices can differ a lot. Also have an idea of the going rate in the supermarkets. Gets busy on fine days so best to arrive early. Tofu, noodles, eggs, coffee and curry also available.

Great chance to get cheap produce, if you're willing to take a gamble on what might be there each week. Sellers mostly take EFTPOS! Most of it is loads cheaper than at the supermarket, but some the vegetables are a bit worn-out looking - don't plan on it being your only shopping trip for the week. Coffee van, Indian takeaway and some other things like eggs and the occasional cake stall means it's a nice thing to drop in at on a Sunday morning.

A Sunday village market where you can buy vegitables, fruits, eggs etc. It is an average market and nothing very specific there however you can find most of the goods at a reasonable price generally below the price set by the popular supermarket chains. This place is good specially if you plan to buy in larger quantities. Parking is bit hard since this place become crowded. There is a small dedicated parking space behind the school but it can only contain less than 10 vehicles. There are around 15 parking slots Infront of the school but it is not easy to find an empty slot without having a wait here.

Good prices. Options of eftpos or cash. Memo to self take your own carry bags. Lucky to recycle a couple of onion sacks from the market to use as carry bags. Only downside is everyone wants to park down the driveway. Should be closed off for health & safety

Open vegetables market in Johnsonville. Available fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables. Cheaper than supermarkets but not particularly cheaper then other open markets around Wellington. Tofu, fish cake, noddles are good and fresh.

The price is a lot lower than in supermarkets, although sometimes this can be reflected in the less than perfect quality. It's got a good atmosphere and the stalls are friendly though, and if you haven't been before you should give it a try

J'vil fresh produce market became bit better now as Willis st is closing down. Definitely better to buy what you can from here, rather than buying from supermarkets.

Very enjoyable here this Sunday village market, reasonable price and fresh veritable.

Good vegetable or fruit market, find things at cheaper price than countdown, new world etc... Parking is little bit limited but kids love to play during our shopping (small area for kids to hangout).

Great selection of produce between sellers. Much less expensive here than at any grocery store. Several places have EFTPOS but most stalls don't. So if you want to have choice, make sure to take some cash. Also don't forget to take your own bags.

Small, handy market, free parking but can be hard to find a spot when busy. Go early, starts at 7am! Good range of produce, usually way cheaper than supermarket.

Nice wee place to get ur fruit and Veg on Sunday Morn. I recommend you have a coffee at the coffee stall there Bean Here. Reasonable prices for coffee and hot chocolate. Guy who runs it is nice too. Sam.

When compared to other markets around the region it's very small and most stalls just a copy paste of the others. Still far better than supermarkets for weekly veges shop though so if you're in the area it's very worthwhile.

Variety of fruit and vegetable stalls all with different prices for their produce. I like the tofu and fresh noodles stall as the tofu is bigger and cheaper than what is in supermarkets.
