Reviews of Bay Of Islands Farmers' Market
Very small with only a few stalls. We were looking for something for lunch and were disappointed there wasn’t much of a selection. If you’re after fruit, veg, bread or coffee, there’s one seller for each of your needs!
Four stars because if you like supporting local you can do that here, vendors were all friendly, and ample parking in town; just go with limited expectations.
Almost boutique!
This busy little market has some of the best of... most of... The coffee I drank while perusing the site was outstanding. Seasonal produce reflect traditional Farmers' Market culture.
Friendly, pleasant and interesting stall holders. Chatty and helpful.
Beach walks are great any time of year. Limited vehicle parking in beach zone or near the Farmers' Market. The Market's proximity to iconic tourist amenities and booking services is good. Access to public toilets is appreciated.
Very small and just few seller but good selection of fruits and vegetables. A icecream and coffee shop
Excellent selection of fruits, nuts, cheeses and vegetables. Excellent coffee. Very tuneful live music.
I like to get my veges here, it's bit quiet during winter with less stalls, but it's still nice to go to have a hit cup of coffee and listen to live music.
A small number of stalls but a couple of them are particularly good - the tomato lady, the free-range egg lady, and Flutey breads. The bread people are moving to the packhouse Market though from April 2019
Special coffee (Ikarus Coffee Roasters has a booth here), delicious bratwurst sandwiches (make sure to get sauerkraut and use the spicy mustard), Greg Flutey breads (amazing), beautiful produce and consistently good live music. This farmer's market is on the small side, but in our opinion it's the best in New Zealand.
Although it's a little bit small, and growers seem to not all attend regularly, there are some dedicated growers like Mangawhai Grown and Mahoe Cheese that we see every week. We prefer organic or spray free but we can get our weekly veg, dairy, bread and eggs from this market. Also men's we only visit a supermarket fornightly for a few extras. Hopefully it grows further.
