Y.Chris and Glenda are such welcoming and conscientious hosts. The rooms are lavish and clean, and the high end products (Zealong Tea and Ashley&Co) are the added touch of elegance. I made use of the on-site facilities - restaurant, spa pool, and gym - it's clear they have high quality standards in every element of the hotel. I highly recommend staying here again. Good food options (sushi, kebabs, Chinese food, Coffee Club) and Koi whisky bar. 5 min walk to Countdown, 10 min walk to town centre, shops and cafes. FREE access to hot tub and Snap Fitness. Short walk to Tivoli Cinema and Countdown.
D.What a nice place to stay. The rooms are fresh and clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We had the breakfast too and it was well done. The location is great - nice and close to everything and has a view of the lake as well. Oh and the coffee is good too. What else can I say.

D.From thee outside this hotel does not look like much however, inside the decor is great and so is the feel. The manager Chris, was never without a friendly face or willing to lead a helping hand. E.In November 2021, my fiancé and I were due to be married. Our original venue cancelled one week before the wedding day due to the level 3 lockdown and couldn't justify having a small person wedding in line with the lockdown restrictions. We were unable to change dates due to my fiancé having a flight booked to the UK the following week so we were in a bit of a tight spot.
I called Glenda from Hidden Lake Hotel and told her about our situation. To our relief, she was understanding and gladly allowed us to have the wedding under the level 3 restrictions with such short notice. As you can imagine, I was a little stressed from the uncertainty of the lockdown restrictions, but Chris and Glenda were always available to call and they responded to emails promptly and with such a positive attitude toward the whole situation. Planning my wedding with them was so easy and enjoyable.
The venue is lovely, modern and clean. We had the plan of having the wedding outside, by the lake, but due to rain we had it in the restaurant that had a beautiful view with large floor to celling windows that slide open. A highlight the guests often mention is the food. Absolutely delicious and presented beautifully.
Although we didn't have the wedding that we originally imagined, this was even better than I imagined. 100% would recommend you check them out for a wedding, accommodation or just a meal.

S.Our group of 14 cyclists loved their 2 night stay. The hospitality offer was second to none - when I suffered a back injury (bulging disc) the owners helped as much as they could. We ate in the restaurant both nights and also had breakfast, all excellent quality.
Beds were amazingly comfortable and the rooms are spacious and welcoming.
K.A fabulous placed to stay. We stay in an apartment for four nights with a toddler, and had everything we needed. Comfortable beds, excellent bathroom with a large bath (and shower), great facilities, very clean and located in super convenient location (Countdown supermarket a couple of minutes walk). This is perhaps my best hotel stay yet - the service was outstanding and I just could not fault any aspect of our stay. I am not normally a reviewer, but this apartment was exceptional and I felt the need to tell others (especially if you are holidaying with kids).

T.We were only staying for one night, but wish it was more. Centre of Cambridge. Such a lovely peaceful place to stay. Service was great. The staff here are very pleasant and ever so helpful. Although the front reception wasn’t manned when we arrived, there is a clear message beside the phone with their extension number. Tia was there within a minute to check us in. We were very impressed with the professionalism mixed with friendliness of the staff. The room was lovely, beds comfy with a selection of pillows available. Zeelong tea selection was a lovely touch. A fabulous breakfast was included in our one night stay. This was in the beautiful large airy room (on 2nd floor) overlooking the hidden lake. We were so impressed with Hidden Lake Lodge and would love to stay longer next time. It is evident that this hotel is the pride of the owners and the people who work here. Lovely touches are scattered throughout. Love it!
M.Glenda and her team are amazing! I would highly highly recommend staying here. It's centrally located being super close to Cambridge township and the hidden lake is directly behind the hotel which you can take a relaxing stroll around.
Lake Karapiro is a 10 min drive where you can swim and the kids can play.
The food at the hotel is divine - Everything we ate both from the breakfast and the dinner menu was so tasty and delicious. All of the dishes were immaculately presented and there was no request or task that the friendly staff could not handle.
The hotel is perfect for a girls getaway or even a romantic couples stay. The jacuzzi is set on the second floor overlooking the beautiful trees / lake offering guests a relaxing / tranquil experience.
Thank you so much to the team for all the hard work. We will definitely be coming back!!!

We ate in the restaurant too and the food was delicious. We all appreciated the fact that you catered for all 20 of us at such a late hour.

A.Loved this hotel! The service was outstanding and friendly. The spa is in a beautiful room on its own and you can enjoy it in private looking out over the bush. I stayed in the one-bedroom apartment and it was spacious, large wardrobe, comfortable seating and the king bed was huge, comfortable and bedding great. The breakfast was just like that at a nice cafe, plus the fire in the lounge was great at night to curl up with a book. Highly recommend!

The owners just can't do enough to give you the most pleasant stay. And then there is the restaurant, can't say anything else other than outstanding. The service wasn't speedy but the smiles made up for that, but the meal was first class, the chefs just outdid themselves.

S.Our family of four recently had the pleasure of staying two nights early July at Hidden Lakes Hotel.
Having extensive overseas travel including throughout New Zealand this experience was such a standout we are delighted to write this review.
Firstly the location is perfect situated in the centre of town allowing walking distance to everything in Cambridge. For ultra convenience there is an array of shops surrounding the hotel from McDonald's, restaurants, cafes etc.
The hotel has a beautiful outlook of the lake gardens and views of Whitehall mountains.
The hotel room is superbly maintained with modern luxury comforts as it is only 6 months open.
The restaurant is very pleasant with the surrounding views, great menu and quality food and even barista made coffees.
The stand out feature of this hotel is the exceptional operators Chris and his lively wife. They are exceptional in their hospitality, care and level of service. We were treated as very special guests which made us all feel like we were being cared for as if we were family. We saw this exceptional service was provided by Chris and his wife and all staff to all their guests.
This is by far the best hotel in Cambridge and quite frankly worth leaving big cities to experience the stay here. We will be returning as soon as we can! Thankyou.
P.Due to my partner falling ill on what was supposed to be day we ended up needing to stay somewhere on short notice. Chris and the team were not only accommodating, but super helpful. Dinner at D’Arcys was delicious as was our impromptu breakfast. Definitely will be back

C.Had an amazing stay here and was really surprised at the level of service and the small gestures toward making me feel welcome and well taken care of. I love that the hotel has an environmental focus and eliminates single use plastics, as for a frequent traveller, this is really important to me. I had a small dinner in the restaurant as I was travelling solo but it would be great for couples and friends with plates designed to share and the food was excellent. Really make the most of the lake walk right at your doorstep while being able to also walk to Cambridge township for dinner or drinks of your choice. Amazing location, epic stay and truly relaxing!

M.Great new hotel in a convenient part of Cambridge. Ashley & Co products throughout the room were a HUGE bonus and made a big impression. Comfortable bed, high-quality (included) breakfast, good wifi, heaps of parking, and friendly attentive staff happy to bring us extra Nespresso pods at 6am.
M.We booked direct online, and got the winter special with two free drinks and breakfast. Wonderful south african gin. Ample parking, on the hill looking over the lake. Make sure you walk around the lake too to see all the birds. Spa was great! Breakfast was wonderful too. Chris the owner is very friendly. Clean, comfortable and spacious rooms, with great furniture, nespresso machine and zealong tea as well. Warm and cosy! Really great! We came back and stayed another night.

M.It was hidden, the lake was hidden, the microwave was hidden 🤭 nice to have a 2 shot coffee, bed was comfy, 4 stars only because of the giant part pressure shower head, otherwise welcoming and shops to eat easy walking distance.

Booked on AMEX, the Hidden Lake Hotel and Apartments was a quaint little stay with access to some nice amenities including a beautiful walking trail next to the lake, shopping (including a liquor store), theater/cinema, shooting range and some good eats!
We only stayed a single night as we were in town for a concert about 15 mins away in Hamilton (Mystery Creek) but it was a great stay -- the staff was super friendly, the room was the exact kinda cozy (with an awesome view) that we needed after a late night and breakfast the next morning was delicious!.. Some of the best Eggs Benedict we had on our whole trip!
