Pros: Nice spa bath, handy kitchenette, allocated parking spot, strong shower pressure, good air con / heat pump, good location, close to shops; great, friendly service. :-)
Cons: Thin walls. Seems like some of the other tenants were Winz emergency housing and their kids hovered around our car (and leaned on it at one point) which was a bit weird. Uncomfortable bed.
Overall, we had a nice stay. Thank you ☺

m.Good basic motel, very clean but they required a $100 bond which wasn't disclosed with online booking. We have never struck this before in NZ and it was rather disappointing.
J. T.From the moment I arrived I was greeted with a friendly lady. The room was perfect. Clean, well presented and comfortable.
Internet quality was good. Enough to YouTube without too much interference.
Room service was also amazing. Once I had returned from my business for the day, was clean and tidy.
The staff were very very helpful where I noticed them assisting a few people and ensuring their comfort.
Overall highly recommend this place.

I was not impressed with the cleaning.. one room was not cleaned properly for a long time as the shower had built up dirt and grime which I personally scrubbed off before I left emergency housing. Also a cockroach problem in that room. Aside from that hygate is a fantastic place to stay. I was very comfortable there and appreciated them very much.
V. H.This is a motel style lodge, but it's very up to date. The inside is very clean and seems like it had renovated fairly recently (modern decor, fresh paint). The beds were comfortable, and it was very spacious. I would definitely stay there again.
T.I would stay here again in an instant. Our room was larger than a standard hotel room. TV had a reasonable number of channels. Rooms are decently equipped with good furniture. The beds are like sleeping on a cloud. Desk was great for doing work. The room was perfect for my needs.

D.Our room was excellent. Several noisy guests were booked into the room next to ours over the week. Plenty of lounge chairs for all. In terms of the room all well cleaned. The people there were very nice. All the staff at the hotel was very friendly and very helpful.

D. L.Me mum and baby stayed here from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day. Excellent Service very clean establishment. Kind friendly and very helpful. Bathroom facilities great. Soap shampoo conditioner hand creams divine (I dont usually touch the stuff from motels or hotels for that matter). Beds and bedding clean comfortable and stylish. We will definitely stay here again if needing to stay in Hamilton again. Thanks Hygate for a blinkin good experience.
k.A friend and I stayed here for 4 nights as part of a mystery holiday. All the staff we found more than willing to help or give advice. The room was comfortable and very pleasant. The value for your money is unbelievable. I would definitely stay there again in the future.

k. h.The room we originally booked at a different place ended up being oversold. Orbitz switched us to stay here. Thr rooms were much nicer than we expected. Very spacious and quiet. WiFi wasn't reliable at all but it wasn't a big deal to us for one night. I would stay here again.

J. H.Our unit was very modern and tidy but the beds were like sleeping on cardboard. Sorry but we won't be staying here again. Went to Gerards restaurant (on their recommendation) and was not impressed at all.

P.Hygate motel has AWSOME staff room cleaned all the time even when dishes left on bench by accident of course done when you come back from a day out with your kids would be a lot better if they turned the back area into a play area for kids I've been staying in my room for 4 weeks now and have a beautiful bathroom glass wall walk in shower with an up to your neck spa bath extra room with two single beds and sliding door going into a smoking area with TV queen bed in main room bench double stove top microwave tea hot chocolate milk air con u can't ask for more when it comes to being comftable I rate it 10 so worth it trust me I'm fussy
