Great 18 hole course just of SH2. Friendly accomodating staff. The course is fairly open, but with enough well crafted hazards to accomodate any level of player. The 8th hole is a personal favorite. Basic shop on shop on site with a well stock bar for a cool one at the end of the round.

Very quiet and peaceful course as far as I remember.... approximately 15yrs ago.... Not sure how it might have changed but it’s one of my favourite golf course as I shared plenty of joy with mates...

If you don't mind the noise of the A2 it's a lovely place and people very friendly.

another great golf course fairways a little dry that can be expected but the greens well looked after the Auckland seniors enjoyed there day out there is over 90 of us that play every Monday on a different course each week.

Maramarua is a lovely country course not too far from Auckland. Don't expect velvet greens and manicured fairways because you won't get it but you WILL get a very enjoyable game in a lovely setting. They don't charge like wounded bulls either.

A varied and interesting course. Not too many steep hills. An enjoyable golf game and a nice welcome in the clubhouse. Recommended for a good day out and less than an hour from downtown Auckland.

This course is well maintained and has an interesting layout. You can play without booking most times, at affordable costs. The members have a draw on their club days, which makes it social to play with different people, and they don't have to book tee times days before. Just go if it suits! Modern large clubhouse, 7 day customer service.

Came down from Auckland to play a round. Loved the course, reasonably priced and its a beautiful place to be. Highly recommend others to make the day trip down. Only 40 minutes from Otahuhu to give you an idea of travel time.

Played 9 holes at Maramarua on 16 July 2011. Teed off at 4:00 PM and was done with 9 holes by 5:30 just before it started to get dark. The course was fairly muddy, and the greens had multiple hole placements with the previous hole placements unfilled. This was the first course that I've played in New Zealand, so the mud factor might be an issue with all golf courses in New Zealand in July. The people at the club house (or actually the lounge upstairs) were very nice, and they let me play 9 holes for $15 with a free trundle. The course was fairly challenging with a beautiful layout. My only complaint is the mud, even in the fairways. I'd play this course again, though it's a bit of a trek from Auckland (about an hour south). Annual membership is around $600 for all you can play.

A very relaxing day, fairways in good condition, maintenance on some greens but still a good round. For the price as a non member, more people need to come and enjoy this course.

Awesome... Driving sucked at the start got better latter holes... Had some chipping errors on some holes but managed to get a hole in the 16 for a birdie

Had an amazing round of golf at this course, lady in shop her name was Glenda, was most helpful and friendly, after all the rain course was still in great condition.

Very good course to play but their service don't have passion for clients old members don't make visitors feel welcome there

The Course is playing in excellent condition. No overcrowding in a country setting leads to a day of enjoyable golf

We got there at 9am from Auckland and were shocked to be the first ones (the only ones) there, noiice! The strong winds yesterday did not affect play and that speaks for its layout. Although Uncle Mike had a bad day I really enjoyed my first time there. The other review (July 2011) mentions mud, it's been raining all week in Auckland and I did not experience any mud. So either they've done a major overhaul or Kumar was not in the fairways. Pros: Remote location meant hardly anyone there i.e. less chance of some hacker stealing your ball :) Cons: Don't rely on the score card for course layout, one fairway was illustrated as being straight but when we walked over the rise it was a dog-leg.

Was my first time teeing of in fog added to the fun tho. Awsome coarse our group of 4 will return to try it on a day that we can see real soon

The Maramarua Golf club has been a much greater golf club than all the other golf clubs I've attended in the past. A more remote club, better more in the nature side.
